The Friendly Spar Empty The Friendly Spar

Thu Jul 28, 2022 11:29 pm
The serene feel of the training grounds let Ryumi relax a tiny bit, she had never thought that this would only be her second time this week going inside. She was beginning to try and have a schedule involving the training grounds. She felt kinda happy now, Lloyd was feeling much better than before, although still not able to actually get on his legs. But she was able to at least see that he got himself out of bed…. With a little bit of help from herself. Ryumi was positive that with enough time he could begin walking again. Or when she got enough money to help with his back. It was one of the only things that she felt like she owed him for. That and her arms being a constant reminder of her failure when she was younger. Of everything that the doctors could fix… She nor Lloyd had enough money to repair her arms fully, as a result sometimes the skin would break apart and bleed, causing her to have to wrap bandages around her arms constantly as a result. To hide the injuries she took as a result during the revolt from her parents. But it is only now fueled to stand up and get to work in regards to her own techniques in question. Which luckily for her, most of them required mainly her fists. The cool air whipping behind her as she could feel a faint something…. It felt as though her own force of life could be generated soon, yet she didn’t understand exactly what kind of energy this was. It felt different then chakra… But at the same time felt familiar to herself.

Whatever it was, Ryumi had no real idea what to do with it, as such, Ryumi simply focused on the training dummy that was staked up to take a beating from those who wished to train. Ryumi however constantly ended up smashing the thing apart without even a smidge of difficulty. She needed something far more real, something that could actually test her might. She needed to find a person willing to spar with her. She couldn’t really think of anyone off the top of her head, Youta she didn’t know if he’d like to spar, Chrome was certainly out of the option, she didn’t even know when the last time the boy even got out of his house, much less even came to the training grounds. Ciel was also someone who she had not seen in awhile. All those people she went on a mission on and none of them seemingly could be a good sparring partner. Clenching her fist, Ryumi could only sigh as the slight amount of pain from her own fist put her back into her usual senses instead of getting annoyed or upset. She just had to focus on what she could, which was mainly to up her style with that nifty Bo-Staff that Atarahsi gave her. Although she hoped he wouldn’t be too annoyed that she had barely used it. Mainly having it on her back as she’d slam her fists into the tree’s to blast holes directly through them. Or at the training dummies that were set up and then had their heads sent flying due to Ryumi’s own strength.

“Is there anyone I know that I could ask…. Maybe Atarashi… No he’s probably busy with the village… Jeez I really don’t know anyone…” Ryumi thought it honestly surprised her to not have that many friends who were Genin. Lloyd did sometimes chastise her for spending more time trying to take care of him then actually going out and making friends. Maybe this was the consequence of that… Maybe that’s why Lloyd even was trying to walk in the first place. To make sure that she didn’t have to worry about him.

It left Ryumi wondering where she could go right now, even with the calming grace of the training grounds. It’d be nice for some human interaction. Yet waiting here certainly wouldn’t help her. But she wanted to also find a sparring partner as well. Ryumi felt stuck, trapped by her own decisions and not being able to really find anyone… Perhaps she’d receive a stroke of luck. It was either that or she’d go out and find Youta if he really was anywhere right now.

Enishi Kurosawa had absolutely no idea why he was at the Training Grounds.

On a day where he should be resting as it was the day before the Nova Exams, there he was...mindlessly training without any purpose or goal. It felt as though the past few days have stagnated his progress rather than cementing the skills and techniques he had developed over the past few months. Perhaps it was a plateau of sorts? Embarrassed in having to even account for such a prospect, it could come to fruition that the Wraith simply had hit a wall in progress and unless he gains new information, receive new power similar in vein to his Senju transplant, or through some other esoteric or cursed means...this could be his natural limit in power.

As much as he tried to hide it, he was frightened of that eventual truth.

Similar to those who were scared of aging, every shinobi would have to accept that one day - they would reach a natural limit in power that would require heinous means to try to get over. It was the world's way of ensuring that humans would always be vigilant and wouldn't be so pretentious as to think that their potential was limitless. Everything possessed a limit...and Enishi's limit was approaching. Slowly...yet surely. "...The hell am I even thinking about?" A single rumination cut off Enishi's racing hypotheticals as he brought himself back to reality, looking around the Training Grounds just in case he was in someone's way. It seemed today was especially barren, as with a glance - no one was actually at the area...until he turned around. A girl who looked about the same age as him was practicing with a training dummy...and she smashed it apart with no difficulty.

"Ayo, what the fuck?!" The Wraith exclaimed in a surprised yet extremely impressed tone. There was little to no chakra emanating from her attack from what he could see, and she was able to just smash it apart with no issue. Her physical strength...was amazing. Of course, her technique could use some work since even as a non-Taijutsu specialist, the Sage of Pleiades could see that there were some wasted movements in her punch but the power behind it was monstrous. A Chuunin, perhaps a rusty Jounin? Either way...she was strong. But, he needed to retain and prevent himself from gushing about her power. Since his cover was broken, the Sage guessed he'd introduce himself, walking closer to the girl before stopping about three meters away. "Ah...sorry about my outburst, it was just that...you're really strong. That wooden dummy has been reinforced multiple times to prevent it from breaking from full-force punches, but you were able to shatter it by just casually punching it. That's simply...incredible." In social situations, Enishi would prefer to wear a mask of different kinds to maintain frame and control, but at certain times - the understudy decided to let lose and take it easy. This was one of the rare moments where Enishi's true personality would be on full display, a serene smile appearing on his face.

"Haha, I forgot to introduce myself. I am Enishi Kurosawa, just your average Chuunin. I assume you're a Chuunin just like me, or you might be a Jounin as well? If you are my superior...sorry for being so rude senpai." He'd solemnly put his hands together in a pleading motion as sweat dripped down his face. "I know! As a way to apologize, I can be your next training dummy." He was half joking...but also half serious, wanting to see how the girl would react to his introduction.

She flinched at the sudden sound echoing throughout the training grounds right behind her, did someone step on a piece of shattered wood? Her head leaned forwards, before trailing the chipped up reinforced dummies remains. What she found however was quite the sight to behold, her hand, which was aiming to grab her Bo-Staff that was latched onto her back suddenly went to clasp her hips in surprise as to who was admiring her from afar. The boy in front of her seemed flustered, yet she couldn’t tell from just looks alone, he seemed to also be surprised with what she was doing, even commenting as such in front of her. Such talk usually would have her slightly embarrassed, but here, inside of the training grounds. She was allowed to take a compliment or two from someone.

“They were reinforced? Perhaps the village should invest in something a bit more durable… Perhaps steel would be much more satisfying to take down, although thank you for the compliments!”

She gave a small meagerbow, reminiscent of what people who usually worked at the churches would bow. Both of her hands clasped together, with her right palm over her left backhand. She was practically like a nun in that instance. Showing only the slightest of gratitude when it came to the compliments that she had received from the other ninja as a result. She had never expected anyone to compliment her abilities and say that they were incredible, yet she’d take it with superb stride to her.

“Ryumi Hiyu! Pleasure to meetcha-” When he mentioned that she was a chunin just like him, or perhaps even a Jonin! That got the girl as well slightly flustered from being labeled something that she obviously was not.

“O-oh! Actually…. This is a bit embarrassing…. But I’m actually just a wee little Genin, but that just means that I’ll be a chunin sooner or later! So perhaps I should be calling you Enishi-Senpai!” She gave a hearty chuckle at the mention of the label senpai being used on someone who was only around her age.

“Really? You’ll be my training dummy? Well that’s no fun at all! Why don’t we spar? I’m sure a Chunin like you can teach me a lot in the ways of combat I hope! Don’t wanna go wasting all of this now right?” She’d extend her beefy looking arm, showing off the crimson red bandages to their fullest, before curling her arm and giving a small flex towards Enishi. Wondering if he’d accept a spar with her now that she was just known as a Genin.

Seeing the girl's energetic response to his marveling of her physical prowess, the Understudy would flash his usual serene smile at her - somewhat amused but also drawn to her enthusiasm. It was clear that she wasn't one of those fake energetic people that would cover up their passive aggression with strategic kindness to avoid confrontation, but this girl - Ryumi Hiyu - was truly passionate and immersed in her craft. To that, Enishi could do nothing more than project his happiness towards her...as yet another person was discovering the wonders of chakra, not yet tainted by the cruelty of the Shinobi World. But, his calm and serene expression would be thrown out the window instantly once Ryumi corrected him saying that she was a Genin...and used...a certain word.

It was the S word.

She called him the damn S word.

Why did she have to do that?

"Enishi-Senpai~"

This was the first time that the Wraith would be visibly blushing, his expression instantly turning red-hot with embarrassment, frustration, fluster, and a twisted sense of...pleasure? This was bad, this was really bad. This was the first time someone called him Senpai, not to mention a girl the same age as him as well... "...Please, don't call me that...I'm begging you." Even though he envisioned that sentence to be firm and commanding so that he wouldn't ever feel embarrassed like that, it sounded more like a choked-up whisper, and even worse was that Enishi would subconsciously twiddle his fingers. Never once did the Understudy feel so exposed and caught off guard.

...But maybe he could grow to like that nickname...

Anyway, Ryumi would continue as Enishi previously joked about him being a training dummy for her, but she would instead suggest a spar. Hmm... A spar was quite interesting. The Wraith didn't have any opportunities to spar with other people in a while, as the last time he sparred...well it was a spar to the death during a mission - which resulted in him taking his first life during his tenure in Hoshigakure. Everyone that was on his level was currently occupied with either training for the Nova Exams or was busy doing chains of missions since this was the mission season. This was actually the perfect time for him to get some light sparring in before the tournament tomorrow and it could also aid in improving Ryumi's skills. "Sure," He spoke, lightly clearing his throat and removing all traces of fluster, "sparring is a useful tool in seeing one's weaknesses, strengths, areas of improvement, and areas that require more fine-tuning. I want to see where you lie currently as a shinobi so I can give you the best advice possible. Call it a gift from your s-s-superior." He had to catch himself on the last word.

The Wraith would point to a nearby clearing isolated by water a few meters away from them which created a "sparring island" of sorts, "This seems like the perfect place for our spar to happen, no people, and a great amount of space. Let's head over there," he explained. The Understudy would then stride over to the clearing, using Surface Walking to traverse on water. The clearing was about fifty meters in circular diameter as the auburn-haired Chuunin stood in the complete center of it; hopefully Ryumi would be there as well, letting her choose how far she wanted to be from him. Once the Hiyu readied herself, the Wraith would speak with a smirk, allowing his dark blue Foul Legacy energy to surge and become visible, letting the girl know that he was pretty strong compared to her. But, Enishi made sure to lower his strength because it wouldn't be a valuable experience for her if he went for the kill instantly.

With a small smirk, the Understudy beckoned the Hiyu.

"Let's see if your training has served you any well Ryumi! Show me what you've got and don't hold back!"

Ryumi responded towards his serene smile with one of her own wide rustic ones that oozes confidence out of it. She knew that she was good at the art of taijutsu, she didn’t need anyone telling her that she was the absolute worst of the worst when it came to it. She was good at it, and she could easily become much better with more training and a better focus on what she wanted to mold her fighting style around. However he was slightly wrong about her not being entirely tainted by the shinobi world, although he didn’t need to know exactly why she had red bandages wrapped around her arm that smelled of old copper blood. Yet when she had called the chunin in front of her Senpai, she got the most surprising reaction to being called something that made her nearly break out into a fit of laughter at the result of him being oh so embarrassed with her calling him that. Hopefully he never found out how to make her embarrassed with one of those suffixes, although it was totally impossible for a girl like her to be embarrassed by such things.

But to see him become so entirely flustered was rather endearing to see, as he certainly must have seen some messed up scenes if he was indeed a chunin. He was recognized by the village for his courage and also skill in terms of battle and being a shinobi. She could learn a lot from him, yet she felt she remembered seeing his name from somewhere…. Yet the thought faded away when he practically squeaked out that she shouldn’t call him Senpai. That firm and commanding tone was met with Ryumi shifting her hands to her hips for a moment, her scarred face gaining an almost evil grin at the “commanding” tone of the chunin. The way he twiddled his thumbs was so adorable…

Yet she knew not to underestimate him, he was nice to her, he was genuinely being nice to her…

But looks are always the most deceiving parts about a Ninja… And those are useful advantages.

The last time the Hiyu had spared was with Master Atarashi, who had basically one shotted the girl before teaching her a whole new brand of techniques that she could use as well thanks to her natural gifts in learning from being shown something instead of being told something through a scroll. She knew she was nowhere near strong enough for the Nova Exams that were going to start soon, which is why she had to get stronger for the next opportunity that presented itself to her. Either that or she would have no real way of gaining any combat experience with anyone else inside of the village. Training and sparring with Enishi was a golden opportunity to get her licks in. Who knows…. Perhaps she and Enishi could make this a regular occurrence.

“You know, stuttering only makes me want to say more Enisen, but I’d love to see what you have to offer as well. As hopefully you can handle at least…. One punch from me~” Giving him that smug smirk towards him, she was certainly confident, she stood tall and confident, knowing that it was the best way to actually get someone to take you seriously in the beginning. Being confident and acting were two different things. It was time for Ryumi to show which one she was during this sparring session.

Enishi had found the perfect arena even! Such a kind Senpai he was to her, it allowed them to be in a much more private area that allowed for none of the tree’s or surrounding villagers to be caught up in their battle. Ryumi follows close behind with the use of the Surface walking technique. Catching up without so much as a sweat drop from the muscled out Genin. The serene rushing of the water throughout the 50 meter radius of the almost stadium-like setting had made it much easier for them to actually begin their own fight. What surprised Ryumi was that foul legacy had been activated that showed the clear gap that the both of them had. Yet Ryumi only got even more fired up as a result. She stepped back about 15 meters away from Enishi. Allowing the stage to finally be set.

“Alright! Let’s see how strong the Chunin of the village are!” With that the stage was set, as such Ryumi immediately pulled out her Bo-Staff a second after the match had “Started”. Immediately her arm holding the bo-staff made a forty-five degree angle, lifting the Bo-Staff in the air at that angle before unleashing her arms strength. Sending out a massive gust of wind that crackled with the sound of a dog's bark unleashing from the blast of wind itself. Making sure to keep her guard up at the sign of any kind of danger, wondering if the Chunin had a counter to the gust of wind that he couldn’t even see.

"I SAID DON'T CALL ME ENISHI SEN- WAIT ENISEN???"

Once again, Enishi's embarrassment got the best of him. Once again, he was reduced to a blushing mess...and once again, Ryumi was teasing him. "God...the Genin - no scratch that, the girls of these days. This could get dangerous very quickly..." This was no time to be embarrassed. Foul Legacy was beginning to waver due to the Understudy's rare unfocused demeanor, but it would soon return to its previous dominance once the boy regained himself. Yeah...he'll be sure to go extra hard on this lesso- actually, that sounded very wrong in Enishi's mind so he immediately perished the thought and instead left his mind blank and focused - merely smirking at Ryumi's last sentence to where she desired to test the strength of the village's Chuunin.

He hoped that he wouldn't disappoint.

The last of the Shiratori proliferating the area would be released of their earthly coil and tread the skies, absconding to the horizon with a beautiful flock. The battle would begin as the Hiyu unsheathed her Bo Staff and brandished it to the Wraith. "A Bukijutsu user as well?" The Wraith noted before bearing witness to Ryumi's display of her seasoned physical prowess. Suddenly a massive gust of wind that crackled with the sound of a dog's bark was unleashed by Ryumi simply swinging her Bo Staff. The gust of wind was wild, crackling, and fierce - ten by twenty meters in rectangular size and creating mass devastation as it blew and cut away the grass on the ground leaving it uprooted in its path while simultaneously picking up dirt alongside the uprooted grass. It was an impressive display of her power, and Enishi wasn't sure whether Nise would be able to take it head on, so he needed something else.

As the wave of force was launched between the fifteen-meter gap of the two youths, the Understudy would simply outstretch his right arm in front of him as he weaved through a few simple handseals, ending at the Seal of Confrontation. What was unique though was that all handseals would be weaved with only his right hand. Suddenly, a rainbow-colored barrier would appear one meter in front of Enishi and five meters wide and tall. The creation of the rainbow barrier would coincide when the wave of force would be en route. Enishi would smirk as the crackling wave would shatter into nothingness as his barrier would overpower it, leaving only the trails of devastation that the wave left behind as any evidence that it existed in the first place.

"Let's see if you pass this first test, Ryumi."

The strength that Ryumi displayed certainly could keep even the Wraith while holding back at least some amount of edge. The wind barking and whistling as Ryumi had confidence that she could deal some amount of damage to him, yet him weaving those hand seals with his right hand was something that Ryumi could not ignore. It meant he certainly had a defense for her own attack, the howling winds continued to travel along the Arena’s grassy floor, picking up blades of grass in its wake as Ryumi witnessed a barrier jutsu being performed with seemingly only one hand. She was amazed by how fast the barrier seemingly came to life! Dancing colors of a rainbow appear around the edges of the fuinjutsu barrier with the Bark coming into contact with said barrier. The sudden clash left the debris to go flying all around the arena. Chunks of grass and rocks flinging around and embedding themselves back into the dirt in a single class let Ryumi know that she had a chance at success, and a chance was all she’d need.

Yet the challenge presented to her only had Ryumi start…. To laugh at what Enishi had given to her. If he truly wanted her to break down the barrier right before her. Then she simply could not let this opportunity go to waste. Yet it first started however with resheathing her own Bo-Staff for right now, perhaps she wouldn’t even need to use it as the breaking of that barrier couldn’t be that hard in the grand scheme of things. Especially given that she was saving this for her next match with Atarashi to show him just how far she had come, Enishi was a good starting individual to use this ability against however. Her fist tightened, she could feel the wounds around her hands and knuckles begin to burn. Enishi would notice something peculiar, Ryumi’s own skin began to change! Turning from the slightly pale skinned look to completely gunmetal black with a white outline upon her invoking her own Bloodlines abilities. Ryumi’s whole body seemed to tense up for a moment, yet she was not done yet with seemingly buffing herself up now. As Enishi watched, she’d perform the seals of Tiger > Bird > Hare > Rat . Ryumi also then slammed her open palms together as a red aura rose out from her own body. Thus giving her an incredible amount of strength coupled on with the benefits she’d be receiving  from her own Enhanced Cell Transformation technique.

“Here I come, Enishi!” With that Ryumi ran forwards towards Enishi, going from being 15 meters away to now being ten meters away, then eventually getting down to about five meters away as a result. Ryumi however would not need a technique in order to break through the barrier itself. As Ryumi slammed her fist right up against the Barrier itself. Attempting to break through it  with her sheer strength alone. As she also didn’t have the best way of actually using a mighty powerful technique just yet. But hopefully the punch itself was good enough to suffice. Ryumi knew she was only about a meter away from him if she broke through the barrier. This would certainly be something entertaining to see, especially given that she has shown quite the hefty amount of strength

The Wraith would watch in amusement yet also in...amazement at Ryumi's answer to his test. It was a simple, yet splendid answer that seemed so obvious to do initially, but in the middle of a fight - not many would have the balls to attempt such a brazen strategy. But perhaps that was the subtle genius in Ryumi Hiyu, making the decisive decisions in the heat of the moment. Her body shifted in color, gunmetal black like a cannon with a pure white outline, and quickly, she'd go through her own set of handseals before a red aura would quickly expand from her. So Enishi's prediction was correct, she was going to rush toward him and try to smash the barrier that he was going to break. In reaction to her powering up, the Understudy would quietly and innocuously whistle five handseals behind his barrier - as there would be little to no way that Ryumi would pick up such tiny mouth movements. Now, he could release the technique now - but the scion of the Jugo Clan knew that there was a much better time to release the jutsu...he just had to wait. Soon, Ryumi would dash forwards at near blinding speeds towards the Understudy - kind of making him sweat a bit at the pace she was going at - but it was nothing that he couldn't keep up with visually. It would only take a few moments, and she would be right in front of the barrier, slamming her fist into the construct of chakra as it would shatter instantly. But the moment that the barrier shattered, Enishi simply smirked.

Burst.

An explosion of flame would radiate outwards from the Wraith's body, singing the ground as it would annihilate all sort of plant life within the area. The explosion would expand like a bomb, emitting outward until it reached twenty meters in all directions centered on Enishi where it would dissipate instantly, leaving only carnage as any sort of evidence that it existed. The Wraith was unsure whether the fire blast would do much damage to Ryumi, but the reason why he chose this technique was that it had a concussive force behind it that all must obey. The explosion would send Ryumi flying until she reached the endpoint of the explosion - so she would be twenty meters away from Enishi by the time she could regain agency in her movement; unless she had any form of counterattack against it.

While direct attacks had useful advantages, it could also be reversed in a single instant. In order to perform a direct attack successfully, one needed to have absolute confidence in their defense and be sure that any counterattacks their opponent had could not impede them in the slightest. While Ryumi technically had no idea what abilities Enishi had so she couldn't be faulted in rushing head-on, it's important to calculate every single possibility. This time, she was only sent flying. In a real fight, well...

Her head could be sent flying.

The Wraith would watch and react accordingly the moment he activated the explosion to see what Ryumi had as a counteroffensive, she was definitely powerful so he was excited!

Ryumi’s simple answer was wonderful for her to find out that she was able to completely shatter the barrier before her. She was now only a meter away from her opponent, yet it was that sudden heating up of the battlefield itself that made Ryumi use the only thing she could in this scenario. She’d have to block the blast wave, something that most shinobi would consider to be a death wish due to how strong the massive dome of fire was. Even with her armored up body, she could feel the heat surrounding her, beginning to build up, however she was not out of options just yet. The white shining outline of her arms began to illuminate her arms entirely. Almost completely covering them from her own range. The use of a block was instant, meaning that she could use this for her one and only advantage in sight, that being that she could catch Enishi by surprise when he saw that she wasn’t pushed back by blast wave thanks to her blocking the attack entirely instead of taking it head on.

Enishi could probably, however, notice that Ryumi was waning in terms of sheer stamina… She could barely hold her own physical enhancements right now…. The sheer strain that she could feel… It was absolutely maddening to see. However she’d recover from the blast wave when it finally had dissipated. She’d have to use the only ranged technique she had besides Bark. That being the dragon shrapnel roar that Atarashi himself had taught her. The straining of her voice box, along with the sudden chakra being applied, allowed her to send out a devastating scream towards Enishi. It was like the roar of a dragon itself had come alive with Ryumi’s own attack. Added by the fact that Crimson blazing heart amped up the speed of the attack. Enishi would feel the sudden ringing and throbbing of his head from the scream itself. Ryumi now having given it her all, she could only stand there after the fact, nearly completely drained of stamina.

Yes, that was the answer I was looking for. Well done, Ryumi.

A soft grin of delight escaped the once unreadable expression of the Understudy, witnessing that in response to his point-blank range Blast Wave counteroffensive - Ryumi would retaliate with a counter of her own. Her arms shined in a gleam of red as she wrapped them around her upper body like a shield; Enishi could recognize the maneuver - after all, he knew it himself. Despite not being blessed with the talents of Taijutsu, the auburn-haired Chuunin knew how to block to take a hit. But he could sense that Ryumi's variation of this blocking attack - refined to an absurd degree - was absolutely picture perfect. Nullifying the Blast Wave that radiated out of him like a bomb, the Hiyu Princess roared with a deafening cry - causing Enishi's expression to shift in slight irritation. He could feel his eardrums buzzing and his body growing damaged the more and more the scream devastated the area surrounding them as it picked up stray grass and debris like a burrowing cyclone. Yes, it did hurt - well, simply feeling hurt would be a grave understatement...It felt like someone literally sucker-punched him.

Except that punch went right into his brain.

What a great feeling!

Ryumi's scream was powerful, but it wasn't anything that Enishi hadn't dealt with before in terms of damage. Resolutely powering through the collision, he'd simply dash through the cyclone where he would nigh instantaneously close the meter-long distance between them. Violet 'flames' of chakra coated the fingertips of the Understudy right hand on command - using his momentum to thrust the empowered in a palm strike towards Ryumi's torso - easily slipping through her defenses and allowing all flames to make direct contact with her body. Instantly, the flames would dissipate - imbuing themselves into the girl's body as it formed an intricate seal array visible on her abdomen. The Hiyu Princess immediately would find herself unable to utilize any forms of chakra or her latent physical, her cyclone dissipating, her armor shattering, and her aura scattering into nothingness. All forms of energy would be suppressed by this seal formula, rendering Ryumi nothing more than a statue at Enishi's mercy.

The Understudy would rise from his thrusting position, slightly injured from taking the previous assault, but he still was brimming with vigor.

"This is a Five Elements Seal. You cannot mold nor use any forms of chakra while in this state. I don't think it's wise to push yourself any further... I believe this is checkmate in that case, this was an excellent spar." He explained and spoke with grace, instinctively knowing that the girl could act headstrong and try to break the seal in some way...which was utterly impossible for her but nevertheless. "I hope I didn't disappoint, Ryumi! You are truly talented...probably one of the strongest Genin I've seen in my life. Back when I was a Genin, I would have gotten destroyed by you, haha. Your skill with Taijutsu is full of talent yet refinement; yes, this is the result of your constant training that has allowed you to achieve such a state of excellence in a single craft. For that alone, you are truly splendid." His expression full of hope and compassion would grow deathly serious...

The Sage of Pleiades ignited in Enishi Kurosawa.

"Don't let that light ever grow dark. Don't let that voice of yours ever be silenced. Eventually, the fate of Hoshigakure will be on your shoulders which you will be forced to accept one day. Do not run away when that time comes. Do not lie to yourself when that time comes. Do not wear masks to hide what you truly feel when that time comes. Become the hope of the people when they need you the most...and please..." Why was he getting so emotional from this? Why? Why? Why? WHY?! It was just a damn spar! No...he could see that hope in her, he could see that confidence in her, he could see everything fitting of a true Champion of Justice in her.

Everything that he wasn't and will never be.

"Don't be a slave to your past!"
