The Yamanaka had many odd animals living on their property- a large alligator, numerous native birds, and more than a few stray cats. One, however, was due for a checkup due to recent odd behavior. Naturally, it was Tamago- a tuxedo who fancied himself an escape artist. The cat was simultaneously hated and adored by the clan. Her goofy behavior, generally friendly demeanor, and general nonchalance about being picked up and carried around all scored points in her favor. On the other hand, she was very loud, unintentionally destructive, and frequently got herself stuck into increasingly bizarre areas that normally should've been off limits.

Personally, Momochi liked to think that she had some summons in her lineage. Whenever she brought that up, her aunt swatted her arm but didn't deny it. The older woman grimaced at the younger one, as if apologizing in advance for the hell she was about to be put through. "Tamago's last been seen around the compound, and you know her favorite fish. I'm mostly just worried about her." she felt herself deflate. It wasn't like she was planning to do anything today regardless, but...

Against her better judgment, she found herself nodding. "Yeah, I'll find her." She graciously accepted a few anchovies to use as bait- the smell would take a while to wash off, before wandering into a closed off area in a greenhouse. She plucked a bit off of the catnip plant before leaving, wondering what great sin she had committed in a past life to deserve this kind of treatment.

She hummed a song to herself softly, notes trailing behind her and promptly fading into the harsh winds. She had waited a bit for the winds to pick up, as they usually did around this time of day, before pulling out the bag of catnip and holding it up. Hopefully the gusts would carry the smell about the Yamanaka clan compound. The particular feline she was looking to catch had definitely never left. Her eyes traced the little clearing and the old buildings which surrounded it- at one point, they had been bright and colorful, but all that remained seemed to be intricate carvings. They had quickly learned that the battering brine and harsh winds stripped most color away, so the Yamanaka had eventually decided to settle for beauty in architecture and design rather than colors like was traditional on the mainland.

Eventually, she found Tamago- curled up against the roots of a smaller palmetto with a little kitten tucked into her side. A blink. The kitten and her presumed mother looked completely different in terms of coat and build- perhaps the older cat had decided to foster? With a few pieces of anchovy and a generous bag of catnip, she managed to scoop both of them up into one arm and made her way back to her aunt. She was ecstatic over her discovery. So much so that she promptly shoved Momochi out of her house to baby the two of the felines, tossing a bag of ryo as she left.

With a shrug, she pocketed the coin.
