The Village Hidden in the Mist is a gleaming city built on a circular archipelago. Ten core islands and several reclaimed land projects are connected by bridge to form an enclosed lagoon, with high walls and gates surrounding each island. Many of the islands have unique characters to them, such as the quiet residential neighbourhoods overlooked by the Grand Academy, the bustle of new construction and skyscrapers near the administrative offices, or the winding historical streets of the Shimagakure Old Downtown.
The archipelago has a temperate rainforest climate dominated by frequent cool, foggy days.
