It seemed that Sugi didn't want the cup of steaming hot chocolate. But it was for an understandable reason, hot chocolate wasn't really a good drink to keep you healthy and energized, rather, it was more likely the keeping you warm through cold nights and having fun. Okami nodded and smiled, pulling the drink back to his chest.

Then Max would mention that he'd be okay with paying for meals for both of them. Okami knew that Sugi would most likely take up the offer due to asking but Okami didn't really need anything. "I'm good, I ate before coming her. But I'll gladly join you to the restaurant."

the young chunin also added that they should also do some training afterwards, using Sugi and Okami to train with each other. They were both close in skill level, Max explained, so it should be nice for them. "Sounds great!" He said with jubilation. Okami would enjoy the extra training if Sugimoto agreed to it. He's never faced of against anyone on the same level as himself.

After asking for the food Sugimoto felt a little ashamed that he is unable to provide for himself, but he knows that he has no legitimate ways of obtaining food. So he would put aside his pride and accept what aid he can find. To Sugimoto’s delight Max would say “If you intend to work the forge, you’ll need a good meal to get your strength up first. Would you folks care for something to eat? I have no issue handling the bill, if you lite on ryo.” With the chance of food being an actual possibility, a deep gruble from Sugimoto’s stomach would break the pause in dialogue amongst the group. The thoughts of eating was the trigger for his stomachs annoying interjections, so he would give his belly a quick smack to tell it to calm down. Okami would also respond to Max’s offer saying he ate already but he would join us.

  Sugimoto would let Max pick the restaurant that we would eat at because Max said he would front the bill, and the least he could do is let Max pick the food he likes. So as Max, Okami and Sugi headed to the restaurant Sugi would reflect upon the things Max said about balancing his desire to forge and his new responsibilities as a Kumo Shinobi. So Sugi would take this time to explain his reasoning “So Max, the main reason why I want to get some work at the forge is so I can make some money for some updates to my outfit. Now that I am a Shinobi, I need my outfit to be more effective for stealth and combat. Plus I would like to pay back the orphanage and Mother Abigail for the kindness they have shown me, working at a forge would make it so I could forge some nails and other necessities while making some ryo to buy the wood I would need to make repairs to the orphanage and build the kids some beds to sleep on.” This seemed like it would work well for a cover, but in all actuality Sugimoto really did feel like helping the people at orphanage. So he was unsure if it truly was a cover at all and felt uneasy as he thought about how easily he made new emotional connections that could be exploited and used against him, this revelation scared Sugimoto.


    While walking the cold streets of Kumo, the scents of all the local food shops would cause Sugimoto belly to grumble audibly and quite loudly, he would pay it no mind because soon enough the trio would arrive at the restaurant . The Place that was decided upon was a local Ramen shop*, before even getting inside the Sugimoto could tell just by the places scent that this was no ordinary food joint. Its overwhelming aroma filled his nose and then his mind, it was as if Sugimoto was stuck with a powerful Genjutsu, or just extreme hunger. When Sugimto sat down at the Ramen shops bar the cook would walk over and take his order, he seemed friendly with a huge smile and a happy go lucky demeanor.

The cook seemed like he was well versed in his trade and before long he finished the order and would placed it down in front of Sugimto. A large bowl of Ramen lay before Sugi, its broth looked to be rich and full of deep flavors, the steam coming off it wafted into his nose, filling it with the scent that enticed him into the shop. Ten large slices of meat rested atop the dish, five were perfectly braised pork it’s seasoning complementing the meats seared edge helping retain its fats as it cooked, leaving you with a piece of meat so moist it fell apart in your mouth. The other five slices of meat were succulent chicken thinly sliced into long strips and then fried in a pan with soy sauce to infuse the two flavors. Then two fried eggs are added, cooked in the fashion of over medium(both sides fried but yoke still left in the middle) and seasoned with soy sauce, pepper and some chive onions. The whole dish laid upon a bed of noodles that seemed to explode with flavor of the previously discussed delicious broth. All in all this was one of the most satisfying meals Sugi has ever had.

While eating,Sugi would start some polite conversation with the people sharing a meal with him. Sugi would look at Max and ask the question after slurping up another delicious bite of his Ramen, “How is your food?” Sugimoto hoped he was enjoying his food as much as he was. Then after he finished listening to Max, Sugoi would turn to Okami and ask him a few questions as to not leave him out of the conversation. “SInce we will be training together could I ask you about your fighting style?”, “how do you like living in Kumo?” “are you part of a genin team?” All of these questions would be spaced between Sugimoto slurping up more of his Ramen and relearning how to eat and breath at the same time. Normally Sugi’s mind would be attentive and analytic, dissecting the answers that his fellow diners would give him in response to his questions. Ever probing for information to use to his advantage. But now his mind was clouded with hunger, only half listening to the responses and being more caught up in experience and feeling that the good food gave him. Before now he did not realize just how hungry he was.

A sigh would leave Sugimoto’s lips that was soon followed by a burp. The once large bowl of ramen now lay clean, every drop consumed. Satiated Sugimoto’s stomach would stop its gurgling and let him put his mind to the training ahead. “So this training we are going to do, what will be our focus?” Sugimoto would ask Max, He would then turn and address Okami “I look forward to training with you Okami, plus to tell you the truth I am excited to push myself and see what I am capable of as of now.”

After the conversation Sugimoto would leave the Ramen shop and head to the training grounds, making sure to make a mental note to remember this ramen shop. Before he would go Sugimoto would look to the ramen shop sign so he could put a name to this amazing place, New Dawns Ramen Shop was the name. “A fitting name” Sugimoto would think to himself as he walked towards the training grounds.

Max would listen, happy to hear that someone was helping the orphanage. He used to be the one to help them, built things they need and provide resources they could use. That all felt like an eternity ago now though, his life simply not having the free time available to do such like before. He had more pressing things to attend to on his quest towards destiny.

Max would order just a large bowl of broth, allowing it to warm him. He wasn't terribly hungry, the pretzel from earlier able to stave off his appetite. It would seem as though Sugimoto was really enjoying his food. That was good, as he was going to need his strength. "My food is pretty good."

Max would allow them to talk among themselves, Sugimoto attempting to glean some information about his opponent before their training. How would Okami respond? Would he hold back, to keep the element of surprise? Or would he offer the information up freely, allowing Sugi to possibly form a combat strategy? Such would make things harder for the werewolf, but also allow him to truly test his own capabilities.

"Are you folks capable of hiding and sensing chakra levels?" Max would inquire, wondering just how much these new genin knew and were capable of. "It is tough to get your head around, but you can send out little sensory... pings, for lack of a better word. And this allows you to pick up on the chakra signatures of others. It is useful for gathering intel on an enemy." Max would slurp up some more broth, and then continue. "Now the counter to this is Suppression. It allows you to hide your chakra if you concentrate and don't utilize jutsu. Such is also useful to gather intel on an enemy, though in a more subtle way." Max would finish his broth and pay the chef for their meals, and hear their thoughts on the skills, if any.

"I would like you folks to try and learn to utilize these skills. They will prove very useful in your shinobi careers." And with this said, Max would listen to anything the others said as they made their way to the training grounds.

The trio headed for a restaurant of Max's choosing. While they walked, Okami got some exposition on Sugi's life. He explained that he wanted to get the job at a forger to be able to pay for things like outfits for the new shinobi life and to pay of his debts to the orphanage. Okami had been lucky enough not to need to go to the orphanage because he still had his mother in his life. Although, orphanages don't normally ask for money from the orphans. Sugi might just think that's the best way to pay them back for their efforts even if they didn't ask for it. However, if the orphanage was requiring the orphans to pay them back, then he'd have some strong words for them.

After winding down the market streets filled with scents of different food that are in Kumo, they arrive at a ramen shop. The smells were tempting enough to want, but Okami knew that if he tried to fill his belly more, he would get sick. They still needed to get their training in.

They sat down and seemed to get their food instantly. Okami would just sit pleasantly as they discussed briefly about the food. Then a couple questions got thrown at him from his training partner. It seemed that the boy wanted to find out more about him. The first question was what his fighting style was. "Well, I'm a taijutsu user namely. So far I only have close combat attacks." Okami explained, knowing knowledge of him would be safe. Next one was how long he had been living in Kumo. "Oh not for that long, I'd say almost a year." Okami hasn't been keeping track, everything seemed to be moving fast. Although, it wasn't much like that anymore. And the last question was if he was a part of a genin team. "Nope, I haven't met much people within my own rank. Although I hear that's because of the chunin exams going on at the moment."

Sugi and Max seemed to have finished their bowls, leaving Sugi with another question, what were they going to train? Max gave them an idea with chakra sensory and chakra suppression, two skills common within the shinobi world. Okami nodded. "I like that idea, I also need to work on a couple tai jutsu techniques." Okami explained as they got up. Now they started for the training ground, probably to train.
