The Culling Games: Seventh Match

The Rules are as followed:

1. There will be no killing of your opponent unless permitted by Lord Aokidanza, there is a safety mechanism in place in the arena that will protect from fatal blows should it come to that. This will be made clear by an audio bell and red flare being shot off the defeated and the Chakra Suppression System activating.

2. The Win Conditions are Knock out or Surrender.

3. Each Participant will have 48 hours to reply to keep in line with the standard Combat rules on site.

Tatsuo entered the arena for the third time since the start of the Chuunin Exams. His previous two opponents had both forfeited their matches. For the first match, at least Tatsuo felt like he had gained some ground and was on track to winning by knockout. It was an honorable victory, one that he could accept. But the match that had occurred just previously still lingered in his mind. His opponent then was nowhere close to being defeated. In fact, Tatsuo had doubted his chances of withstanding the man's power long enough to claim a victory. But still, his opponent had chosen to forfeit. In truth, it irritated him. Either the man had no interested in gaining rank, or he had decided that Tatsuo was so far beneath him that it wasn't a worthy test of his power. 'This time, for sure,' he told himself as he took his position, tightening his forehead protector. By some strange twist of fate, he had made it to the semi-finals. Him, an eight year old child of no remarkable stature, would now be pitted against a shinobi who would be, without a doubt, vastly more experienced than he was. He couldn't help but to feel a little bit afraid. His small body was tense as it resisted the urge to shake.

'Calm down,' he told himself, taking a deep breath in, releasing it slowly. His face was stone, refusing to show his apprehension. He wouldn't last five seconds if he let his nerves get the better of him. He was a shinobi, he couldn't afford to lose to fear. He forced his focus outward, watching for the moment his opponent stepped into the arena. Whoever it was, he would give this fight everything he had. When he saw his opponent, he would lock eyes with them, offering the seal of confrontation. "Don't hold back just cause I'm a kid!" he would shout out, sounding bolder than he felt. He wouldn't have this fight ending the same way the last one did. If he was going to move on from here, he wanted it to be because he'd earned it with his own strength. He wasn't interested in any hand outs. He would watch his opponent with a piercing stare, the red eye of his sharingan spiraling into activation, waiting for the signal to begin.

The thought that Hiroya Hatake had about this Culling games that his father had proposed to test the mettle of those within the village was one of disappointment. These were people who grew up in safety and comfort. Of the fights he had seen and knew the results of there were none that impressed him. 2 of the fights had been forfeits barely lasting a moment past starting, 2 others had been surrenders with one being Hiroya’s own prior fight against Nokino though it had barely last past a single exchange. His own sibling Nurai had simply gave up, a disgrace shown by someone that was apart of his family was something that upset the old man. Hiroya had come to realize why he had been called out of retirement and back into service by his father.

He entered the Arena once more his opponent Tatsuo Uchiha, just a child who had fought one opponent to a forfeit and the other opponent being Nurai who just didn’t bother trying. While the young child did not have the ability to have beaten these foes so easily, Hiroya would not degrade the child’s fortitude to continue. Hiroya simply hoped that this whole experience would be a learning experience to the child and that he would only grow from it.

They met in the middle similar to his last fight 20m from the walls of the arena and 20m from one another. The boy offered a bold declaration, it brought a smile to his face, at the least the boy was willing to fight it was a needed trait if you wanted to survive. “I hope you learn much from this bout.” He simply said as he offered his own sign of Confrontation signaling the start of the match, avoiding eye contact and simply watching the boy’s body.

Hiroya’s body wouldn’t move as he strengthened himself with Total Concentration Breathing, boosting his speed and chakra (+60 spd/cha) and gaining a Lightning affinity to his strikes, at the same time two things would happen a Imitation Black hole would spawn 5m to the boy’s left (110 pwr/spd) and start expanding at jutsu speed (30m diameter) pulling anything with less strength towards its center, while Imitation White Hole would spawn 5m to the Boy’s right (110 pwr/spd) and exploding out at jutsu speed (30m diameter).

Hiroya would have his hand on his Katana in a ready stance ready to react to whatever Tatsuo did next.

Combat Stuff:

It seemed that Hiroya would waste no time, for as soon as the signal was given, Tatsuo saw small orbs appear in his peripheral vision. As soon as he took notice of them, they would start to expand rapidly, and to Tatsuo's perception, there was no way to escape. On his left, the expanding sphere looked to be warping the space it surrounded, while the sphere on his right looked to be exploding with a bright force. He grit his teeth, fire chakra flooding his body as he made a split second choice and dodged 5 meters into the black hole at 180 speed, banking on the techniques clashing before both could hit him. As he entered the black hole field, he immediately noticed it pulling him in. He found that he couldn't move from his location at the epicenter of the sphere, his body simply wasn't strong enough to resist it. But he couldn't sit still and do nothing.

Grabbing a shuriken from the pouch on his hip, he decided to test a theory, throwing it straight at Hiroya with 150 speed and noticing how it was able to clear the distorted area and advance toward the old man unhindered. This meant he had a chance to fight back. The shuriken would deal Hiroya 75 damage should it make contact, but meanwhile Tatsuo began weaving a rapid series of four seals, unleashing 9 fireballs each 1 meter in diameter, traveling toward Hiroya at 120 speed and power, spread apart so that they each kept no more than a 4 meter distance between them (creating a stack of three "V"'s with the corners facing Tatsuo, covering a 12 meter high explosion range, each "arm" covering an 8 meter wide blast radius, 4 meters width between the open ends). Tatsuo would watch Hiroya carefully and direct the fireballs to angle toward the old man should he attempt to move, making them explode should they get within a 2 meter radius of Hiroya. Meanwhile, he wove two more seals in preparation of his next move.

Hiroya watched as the boy dodged 5m into the Imitation Black Hole which would put him directly at the epicenter of the technique, he would be unable to escape from the effects but at least he was still attempting to fight back, Hiroya despawned Imitation White hole as there was no reason to keep it active. The boy threw a Shuriken at Hiroya followed by weaving handsigns to send a barrage of fireballs at him, Hiroya charged forward 5m towards the boy and drew his katana and slamming it into the ground causing a shockwave of force (135 pwr/spd) destroying the shuriken and destroying the fireballs that came at him with ease. It would continue onto and unless the boy figured out a way to stop it would cause him to be pushed back 5m and be unable to use handseals for 2 posts and take 135 dmg. Hiroya watched to see what the boy would do in response.

Combat Stuff:

Tatsuo balked as Hiroya moved forward in a flash, sending a shockwave hurtling towards Tatsuo at an astonishing pace. It took out both of his previous attacks, leaving Hiroya unscathed. When it clashed with the expanding black hole field, though, Tatsuo noticed that its hold on him disappeared. In an instant, he dodged backward 5 meters at 180 speed, and an extra 1 meter at 150 speed, outrunning the shockwave and placing him 21 meters from Hiroya. He waited until the moment he saw the shockwave reach its maximum range before he interlocked the fingers of one hand in front of his chest and unleashed a massive stream of fire from his mouth, taking on the shape of a 20 meter sphere and hurtling toward Hiroya at 115 power and speed. While the fireball flew on, he wove another two seals, preparing to continue his onslaught.

The boy had quick reflexes, already doing better then his prior opponent. Tatsuo had moved back 6m and while he moved backwards Hiroya moved forward 6m already having put his katana back in its sheath so they would be still be 15m from one another.

While the boy did his handsigns for the coming attack Hiroya continued for another 5m while a giant sphere formed and started hurling towards him. He was now 10m from the boy with tatsuo’s attack coming towards him.

Planting his feet and channeling his chakra with lightning it filled his body as he dashed (250 spd/135 Pwr) with his hand on his katana ready to draw it in a moment towards the attack plowing through it with ease due to his own technique being much stronger then the spheres and once he was within range of the boy he would draw his katana and swing it dealing potentially 135 dmg and paralyzing the boy in place for 2 posts if they could not pass the strength check.

Tatsuo had hoped that his fireball would reach Hiroya - and it did, just long enough for the old man to suddenly cut through it, charging right at Tatsuo at blinding speeds. His opponent had appeared a mere 5 meters away, meaning that Tatsuo had exactly zero time to think, just to react. Bringing his hands together in the sign of the ram, Tatsuo flashed away 20 meters to his right at 250 speed, remaining 5 meters away from Hiroya should the man attempt to change course and follow him. Once he landed, he rapidly wove a set of four seals, an aura of lightning chakra appearing an inch off his skin and expanding to envelop an area half a meter from his body in all directions. This aura would expand at 95 speed and power, and would paralyze Hiroya for 1 post should he come into contact with it. From within the cloak, three dragon heads would then form, each with a neck that was 30 centimeters thick. They would hover around Tatsuo, coiled and waiting for the moment to strike.

For a child their age, Tatsuo could actually think on their feet. Hiroya was 5m from the boy and saw him do a single handsign to which Hiroya quickly used Feint to stop his own attack and started doing his own handseals Rat - Ram - Snake - Tiger – Bird (180 spd) and chose a spot 15m from them both but in direct path that the boy was running, spawning  in a similar attack he had used in the beginning of the match but this one would hold anything lacking in strength in place and paralyze them while they took damage. Hiroya had recognized the technique as Body Flicker and knew you couldn’t turn once you moved. It was usually used as a last resort or by the inexperienced.

Hiroya had a feeling this was a case of both for the boy. He kept his Katana Sheathed.

Tatsuo was rushing into place, when suddenly, his movement was stopped by an outside force. His body struggled against it as he was pulled toward a spot 15 meters away from his previous location, his muscles straining against the gravity to no avail. The boy gave out a shout of frustration, but also of pain, as his body was being crushed by the gravitational field. He coughed and tasted blood on his lips, panting as he glared at Hiroya with the red eye of his sharingan. There was nothing he could do, not until the force went away. But he wouldn't give up. As long as there was strength left in his body, he would bide his time until his moment to strike.
