Morning Cardio [open] - Page 4 Empty Re: Morning Cardio [open]

Mon Oct 04, 2021 1:41 pm
All morning, Zay had been mentally preparing himself for finally being in the presence of the Hogokage. Although there had been plenty of times when the kage would come to the academy, or assign missions personally to genin teams, there had never been an opportunity when Zay would be able to train in such close proximity to him. He was never one to get star struck, yet still he wanted to ensure that the first impression was a good one. He outfitted himself in a clean hoodie, fresh pair of pants, and slung his shinobi cross body over his head so that the strap rested firmly upon his shoulder. It was his classic shinobi attire, but he made sure he didn't wear a wrinkled, rugged, or raggedy version of it. Again, first impression was everything.

Zayrian bid his mother and sister farewell for the day after a quick morning catch up with them. They did their small talk, shared a light breakfast, and concluded the talk with a subtle hint of how proud of him they were. A very encouraging way for the young man to start his day. And with that, he exited his house and made his way out from the residential side of Hoshigakure and onto the shinobi side. Specifically towards the Water Gardens. As he traversed the village, Zayrian couldn't help but think about the statement his mother and sister made. Their reminder of how proud of him they were. It was a nice feeling, overcoming adversity as a child and molding himself into a young shinobi with potential. If only Zay knew what his true potential was; but that would likely come on the day that he would finally awaken his bloodline.

Having finally arrived at the entrance of the Water Gardens, Zay’s eyes panned across the training grounds. There were a handful of shinobi taking their time to train in front of the eyes of the mighty Hogokage. Some practicing ninjutsu, some taijutsu, and anything else. Zay himself had only been well versed in taijutsu. That would likely be his practice for the day. Although there was potential for him to learn some basic ninjutsu and maybe even some katon techniques as well. He would make his way over to the crowd and into an unoccupied space. It was open, with tiled grounds and few trees surrounding. Perfect. He’d begin by stretching and loosening his muscles. He sat on the floor and spread his legs out in front of him. His hands would then reach out to his feet, gripping the toes of his shoes. He held this position for a number of seconds until he felt his calves limbering up. He’d follow this stretch up with a number of others until finally standing back up. Then he’d warm up by running to get his heart rate elevated. And so he conducted “suicides” by running from one end of his platform to the other. He did this a number of times before he stopped in the center and felt good enough to attempt some techniques he had been studying. The first was a simple taijutsu technique, with origins in Konohagakure. However it was such a simple and well executed attack that its influence had spread across the various villages in the world. To begin, Zay had assumed the initial position the technique called for. He planted himself firmly on the ground, with each hand tightly gripping the floor beneath him. His right leg was bent and propped up so that his knee was in line with his hands, while his left leg was anchored and outstretched behind him. He would hold this position for several seconds to get his body used to it. Following this he would return back to his normal fully upright stance. He would repeat this cycle a handful of times, increasing his speed with each iteration until he got this down into one swift and fluid motion.

When he would complete this, he would practice the next motion: a leaping lunge into the air from the planted position. He started by directing his chakra flow into his feet and fingertips. When they were filled with a sufficient amount, with an explosion of energy he leaped off the ground and into the air. Then he would land back into his planted position. By doing so, he could feel that satisfying “burn” in his biceps, forearms, and calves. The strain was quite rewarding. And so Zay continued to practice that prone into leaping motion repeatedly, the same as he did before. The idea here was to target muscle memory and get his body accustomed to moving in such a way. So starting from an upright position, he would go through each motion. Standing, prone and planted, then the leap.

Once he nailed this down, it was time for the final action: the actual attack. With this next leap, he would focus his efforts on maneuvering into a striking motion. The first time he attempted this, he would start off simple with a kick. And so as he leaped into the air he swung his back leg up and forward into the air in front of and above him. With the first try, he completed the motion yet didn’t get enough air and force into the kick as he would like. Thus he would repeat the whole process all over again. With this attempt, his kick was slightly off center therefore he landed a tad off balanced. Stumbling when both feet hit the ground, he was determined to land it perfectly next time. And he did. With one swooping motion from standing to the final kick, Zayrian executed the perfect leaf rising wind. Having completed this, Zay would then try to incorporate different attacks with the technique. The subsequent try included a thrown elbow. Following this, a punch. And then finally a knee thrust. He would even try the various attacks out on one of the neighboring trees by his training platform. With each successful attempt, he would side eye the Hogokage and his fellow shinobi to see if anyone had been spectating him. If so, he would feel a whirl of excitement stir up inside him which would push him to train even harder.

Having attempted the technique so many times, Zayrian was covered in sweat. But that perspiration was a mark of accomplishment which would motivate him to train even harder.

The new generation of shinobi came and went, ready to receive teaching under the watchful gaze of their kage. Genin achieved the expectations and more. Members of Hoshi's band of heroes who were present today would realize that too, Ayato thought. Akaboshi Uzumaki, the Nova Commander, his white cloak dancing in the wind behind like a living thing. Dusk Tachibana with a sleepy look on his face and hair as blue as the midday sky.

After them, two individuals stood out in particular. One was a blonde-haired young adult in the finest grey armor money could buy. On Toneri's hip, a sword with a golden hilt shaped after a lion's head and two ruby eyes. The second figure was a silver-haired kunoichi with lilac eyes. The day was hot; Natsuki was a creature of habit and had multiple copies of the outfit she wore while performing her duties as a Chuunin of the Village Hidden in the Stars. A black tunic decorated with gold, a red cape, and red leggings reaching down to her ankles, meeting her low heel boots. The scraping these boots made as they brushed across the cobbled streets of Hoshi brought a regality to the Kunoichi that some could label as eccentricity. However, a noble must dress like a noble.

The news would travel fast that siblings of the Kage had also made their appearance. They moved into separate ends of the Water Gardens. Ready to do their part of the training exercise. On Natsuki's side, shinobi would receive teaching in the complicated arts of Iryojutsu. Both healing and poisoning. Natsuki was always the most transparent of the two. On the other was the quarrelsome Toneri, ready to teach shinobi in the arts of weaponry and possibly fuinjutsu.

Morning Cardio [open] - Page 4 Empty Re: Morning Cardio [open]

Mon Oct 04, 2021 3:38 pm
Ah yes, it seemed the topic at hand would be one pertaining the elemental natures. "Let me first start with commending you on learning the techniques shown to you by our Kage, I'm sure training has been intense". Akaboshi looked around, noticing those who gathered were still continuing their training, hoping to learn as much as possible and take advantage of the more experienced shinobi present. And it would be no different for the Nova Commander. The day he put on the white cloak of the seven swords was also the day he promised to protect and guide those who needed it, just like he had been doing up til now.

With the wind ever so slightly caressing both his hair and cloak the Uzumaki motioned both Aemon and Leonidas to make some room for Emi and himself. "Considering it hasn't been that long since you left the Academy I'm sure everything is still fresh, right?". With a smile Akaboshi explained the basics when it came to the elements, mentioning how it was common for the more experienced shinobi to possess mastery over three elements. "As is the case for me as well". Lightning, water, earth. Those were the basic ones he possessed.

Scanning his surroundings the Nova Captain began to walk. "Follow me" he voiced to Emi, hands behind his back as he casually made his way to what appeared to be a small lake. "Yes, this will do" the man spoke under his breath, only for those close enough to hear. "I believe this will be just the element for you. Gentle, yet fierce. Wild, but at the same time calm". If the young lady was able to read between the lines she would have figured out which one Akaboshi would be teaching. "That's right. Water". With a friendly smile the Uzumaki would sit down, taking place besides the lake.

Assuming the kunoichi followed his example the redhead would begin the lesson, explaining one step at a time. "What I want you to do first is close your eyes and listen to the soft rocking of the waves". Once she sat down and closed her eyes he would wait a minute or two before speaking again. "What you should do next is open your eyes and place one of your hands in the water". He would explain how imagining it was one thing but it was another to feel the actual river flow across your palm. Placing his own right hand in the lake he'd demonstrate what he meant exactly.

Slowly lifting his hand up out of the water Akaboshi let it rest a couple of inches above the surface. "What follows now is to try and focus chakra into your hand and the water which will allow you to gain control over the element". This time again the redhead gave the kunoichi a moment to let everything sink in before proceeding. “Try to pull the top layer of water from the lake towards you. Be gentle and fluid with your movements, firm yet not rough enough to disrupt the flow. After you are able to do this, being able to learn water release jutsu shouldn’t be difficult". Akaboshi then stepped back to allow Emi to try things out for herself.

Morning Cardio [open] - Page 4 Empty Re: Morning Cardio [open]

The Captain immediately commended Emi on being able to learn the techniques that that were being shown by the Kage, he also mentioned on intense that it’s probably been and Emi would certainly agree with him on that. She would give a slight nod to show that she was actually listening to what he was saying and trying to stay focused. As the captain looked around the training grounds, he motioned to his two “body guards” in a way that seemed to suggest that he would be teaching Emi something.

As the two guards provided Captain Akaboshi and Emi with some room, the young genin noticed that the Captain would begin to speak again. ”Considering it hasn’t been that long since you left the academy, I’m sure everything is still fresh, correct?” Emi gave off a small chuckle once he finished his sentence and simply answered with a ”Yes”.

The captain would give off a slight smile, which was nice to see for Emi, and then went on to explain the basics of the elements. Then mentioned that experienced shinobi could possess mastery over three elements. ”As is the case for me as well”. As he mentioned the elements that he had mastery over, Emi’s jaw opened ever so slowly… until it hit the ground due to the impressiveness. Lightning release was the element that Emi already possessed and had been working really hard in the training grounds today to increase her experience with it. She was hoping that water would be her other element… as she loves the flow and calmness that water brings.

The Captain looked around at the surroundings for a moment… it’s like he was looking for a different area to train after telling his “goons” to give them some room. Emi thought it was pretty amusing. He must of found something because he quickly began to walk and quickly told Emi to follow him, which she obviously did. She matched the Captain step for step as their feet hit the ground in unison. right, left, right, left”. Emi wouldn’t go so far as to copy his hand placement as he walked elegantly in front of her. The captain would stop here and let Emi know that this spot right here… would do.

The young genin looked around where they were at and heard the words that Captain Akaboshi was speaking. ”I believe this will be the element for you. Gentle, yet fierce. Wild, but at the same time clam”. Emi immediately thought of water and could have put a wider smile on her face. The captain seemed to return the smile to Emi and took a seat down near the water, which Emi would immediately follow suit… in fact she almost beat him to the ground she was so excited.

”What I want you to do first is close your eyes and listen to the soft rocking of the waves”. Emi would listen to what the captain was saying. This was probably best for the young genin as she had begun to get a little too hyped up – so this exercise would certainly help calm her a bit. After a minute or so Captain Akaboshi would speak once more. ”What you should do next is open your eyes and place one of your hands in the water”. Emi would let her left hand gently float onto the water and then sink in slowly and in a silky smooth sort of way. Captain Akaboshi was explaining that feeling the water flow across your palm was just completely different than actually imagining it. He then would place his own right hand inside the water and demonstrate exactly what he was speaking of.

The captain lifted his hand slowly from the water and rested it just above where the water would sit. ”What follows now is to try and focus chakra into your hand and the water which will allow you to gain control over the element”. He would pause slightly, which allowed Emi time really to think and grasp what he was speaking about. ”Try to pull the top layer of water from the lake towards you. Be gentle and fluid with your movements, firm yet not rough enough to disrupt the flow. After you are able to do this, being able to learn water release jutsu shouldn’t be difficult”.

Emi watched as he let the water effortless flowed to his hand and she couldn’t help but stare in pure amazement. As the water slipped back down from the palm of his hand hovering above the water, the captain took a step back and let Emi begin her trials.

The young kunoichi allowed herself to take a deep breath as her eyes closed and then opened when she let that breath loose. Her left hand that was still resting easy in the water was lifted slowly but firmly as she squeezed the muscles in her forearm. Emi began to focus her chakra in her hand while trying to relax and remembered what Akaboshi had said… be gentle but firm. As she focused the chakra the water began to ripple and start to pull up towards her palm… quickly falling back down and making a splash.

A frown quickly appeared on the face of Emi as she was hoping to get this in one go in front of the captain. Though she figured that she should show how determined she is and got rid of the small frown and wanted to get back to work before the captain stepped in.

Emi let her left hand hold still over the water once more… inches above it, slightly more relaxed though. She closed her golden eyes and took a deep breath in and out, then opened them… showing fierce determination. The kunoichi let chakra flow down her arm into her hand and focused it towards the center of her palm. Water began ripple ever so slight and then pulled upwards towards the center of her palm with such a calm and an ease. If you looked closely enough, it almost looked like the calmest and smalled twister that you could ever see.

The young genin took released the chakra and stood up with joy! She turned towards the captain with a happiness in her eyes and a smile larger than life. ”How was that Captain Akaboshi”!? As she finished her sentence you could hear just how amazed the young girl was that she was able to successful complete the captains task!

Youta would walk around and look for someone he knew.” What do you mean by Freedom?” Youta never really knew about Sebastians situation. He was not too worried aboutit either as long as he was not a jerk Youta would be ok with him. “I honestly do not know if it is useful I literally just walked in and said hi to Hogokage Ayato then came over to talk to you. So I hope that he did some good for the village. Help strengthen pall of us.” He would look a Sabastian with a smile and jokingingly say. “you are always down for a good spar. It could be a good opportunity to see what we have learned. Or we can practice new moves I do not know what you are in the mood to do. Should we wait to see if Zeref wants to join?” He would start to stretch.

Having attempted the technique so many times, Zayrian was covered in sweat. But that perspiration was a mark of accomplishment which would motivate him to train even harder.

(WC: 1070, 750 towards Leaf Rising Wind)

Wiping the sweat off his brow, Zayrian would get back to his feet with a look of determination bleeding from his eyes. His eyes shifted from shinobi to shinobi, it would seem as if some were working individually but most were working in pairs and teams. Zay scoffed lightly at the idea of everyone already having their group, but treated it like a chip on his shoulder. It would urge him to push himself, even if his training partner was just a tree. But for now, he would look at that tree with all the malice in his heart. He knew, for certain, that he would have to do some serious damage to the tree in order to make a good impression in this training session. His mind recalled some of the scrolls he had read during a session within the Hoshigakure Library. One of which, would be an elegant solution to the issue at hand.

"The amplifier.." he thought to himself, "How could I forget. That would be perfect..."

And with that, Zay readied his attention to the tree at hand and stood before it in his eager pose. To begin, he closed his eyes and visualized the chakra flowing within his body. He knew where he needed to direct it in order to get the most bang for his buck. He would need to start at his hands, where he would form the seals. Just two, quite simple of a technique. First came the tiger, quickly followed by the rat. And when the rat seal was complete, he channeled all of his chakra into his finger tips and his feet. This was the exact same thing he had done when he begun the process of learning the leaf wising wind just moments ago. Reason being, it was effective! Now he would quickly drop to his palms with one foot propped in front, and the other angled behind. His front leading leg would be oriented towards the tree, so that when he would leap up and forward his target was straight ahead. As his foot made impact with the tree, the small dent which had been created before from Zay's previous impact with it had now expanded into a wound with depth. Small, but direct improvement in terms of his raw power output. Smiling to himself, he landed back onto the platform and stood upright, admiring the damage he had done to the tree. Today was proving to be quite fruitful, even if he wasn't harboring the attention of the Hogokage. Now that he had begun his training, he was so focused that he forgot his intentions were to impress anyone. Instead, his whole outlook had shifted. All he wanted at this point was to keep training.

Much to his delight Akaboshi noticed how the young girl was able to pick things up quite fast. "Good job Emi, you were able to follow my instructions perfectly". With a friendly smile the Uzumaki made sure to commend the kunoichi. The best teachers knew when to praise and when to reprimand. It was only through those experiences and hardships that one would grow and make the progress they were looking for. "I'm sure your sensei will be pleased with a student like you". The Nova Captain reached out his hand for her to take, helping Emi up if she so accepted. "Now, why don't we head back and see what else you can learn?". Smiling the man returned to his original position, assuming the young woman would follow but left that up to her.

Walking over until he made it back to both his guards who had been patiently waiting, observing their commander all the while doing their best attempt of puppy eyes. "Yes, yes, I know. You'll receive training later". Knowing the two of them Akaboshi figured they could hardly wait to do some exercise themselves, but all in due time. In case Emi followed behind and got curious about what the three of them were talking about he would allow her to join the conversation before reaching for a certain valuable in one of his side pockets. "Aemon" he called out to the young knight. "Here, I know you've been asking for this". If the promising youth decided to accept the gift he'd find that in there would be a scroll allowing him to call upon the Ancient race of the Red Dragons.

With a small drop of blood Akaboshi would summon both Aiden and Hedwig, two of the youngest of the bunch. "Go on, stretch your legs", with a smile the Nova Captain watched the dragon brothers as they walked around, making sure to stay close to their summoner but also carefully approaching Aemon, Leonidas and Emi. "Was there anything else you wanted to learn?", if the kunoichi had any more questions the redhead would do his best to answer.

What did he mean by freedom? That was a good question and one he expected honestly. "So I..." He would pause, glancing up at the morning sky, peacefully watching a cloud skate by. "I'm a werewolf." It wasn't something he enjoyed saying out loud, but it was something that his teammate deserved to hear. They had been on the same team for nearly a year now, and Youta was someone he felt as though he could trust. If asked to elaborate, he would. "I used to not be able to control my shifting to the beast. Luckily, that is all behind me now. You need not worry about being in danger." He would watch, studying how his comrade would react to such news.

When asked how he wanted to proceed, he would ponder a moment. "Sparring is good practice." He didn't know how capable Youta had been, and he didn't wish to underestimate the young man. "What do you say, Zeref?" He would ask, hoping that his other teammate would join in the training.

"Don't worry. I'll not be letting the wolf out during this training." He would point in the direction of the Hogokage and his entourage. "Wouldn't want to cause a panic, you know?" The wolf finally got his freedom to travel without an escort, so he had no intention of making a scene here and causing the higher ups to question that decision.

Youta heard about the werewolves but paid it no mind. He was a little shocked but continued and said “That’s ok as long as you have it under control that’s what’s important. You know my clan as been accused with making a deal with the devil. Not just demons the head honcho himself. Which is not true! It was not the devil, maybe demonic and full of darkness but not the devils themselves. Or who actually knows? It’s all hearsay. But as long as the wolf inside is useful, use it.” He would then look at him and wonder what it was actually like but knew not to ask. But her would continue after stretching for a minute.

“So a spar you say could be fun it’s be a great chance to work on some taijutsu. It would or we could unleash some ninjutsu but most people really don’t like when I do that if it’s my clan's ability. I do not know if I ever told you about it, especially once I learn some more of it. It seems to cancel or absorb other ninjutsu and chakra. But we can just spar and practice.” He would then get set up in a taijutsu stance.

Emi truly felt exhilarated as she was able to learn and complete the task that Captain Akaboshi had given her and not only that, he had commended her efforts in being able to pick it up quickly. She did wonder though, would there be anything else that the Captain could teach her? He was a high ranking shinobi in Hoshigakure, she was sure there was something else that the captain would be able to show her. As he started to walk off, back towards his two bodyguards… it seemed as though Akaboshi had wanted Emi to follow him… which became clear when he stated; ”Now, why don’t we head back and see what else you can learn”? A smile would appear on the face of Akaboshi as he turned around and allowed his crimson locks to flow.

About this time, Emi had actually noticed another figure that where standing alone in the training ground. He actually looked similar to the Hogokage… so similar in fact they could be brothers. ”Wait, is that the Hogokage’s brother here? Man this training ground is really popular today. He’s got a sword on his side… I wonder if he would be willing to teach me the weaponry specialty….”

The young genin must have gotten lost in her feelings to want to learn as much as she possibly good. It’s almost as if the Captain had ceased to exist for a moment. Not only that, she had said those words aloud… which would probably be a little embarrassing when she realized. Hopefully the Captain wouldn’t go too hard on her or be mad at all. Emi had already had a katana, but didn’t fully understand how to utilize it to it’s fullest potential.

”Captain Akaboshi, I hope this doesn’t come across as disrespectful to you and I really appreciate your willingness to teach me today. I hope we can speak more in the future and I’d love to learn more from you! Also, I currently don’t have a sensei…” Emi looked up at him and hoped he would be alright. After a few moments and waiting for his response, she would grab her journal she had been jotting in all day and the katana that was laying on the ground. ”Let’s go see if I can learn some weaponry stuff!”

As the young kunoichi would approach the elegant looking man – she noticed that he wasn’t quite as old as the Hogokage and must be the younger sibling. Emi hoped he would be willing to work with her, as he didn’t seem to have any students come over his way. ”Hello sir, my name is Emi Ren and I’m a new genin and came to this training session to really learn a lot! I noticed you have a really spectacular sword on your hip – would you happen to be able to train me in weaponry?”

Emi’s golden eyes stared into the man filled with hope that he would say yes.
