Throwback Broback

Komon awoke to the sound of groaning zombies and chirping birds as per usual, it was the perks of living in a village such as the hidden cloud. “SHUT UP” He would say throwing his first pillow across the room and squeezing his other over his head. However after a few moments he had lost all of hope of falling back to sleep and lazily got out of his bed, stretching his limbs and allowing a deep yawn to escape his lips.

“I need coffee” He would mutter while stumbling to his closet and putting on his father’s old jounin vest, before draping his own leather jacket over it. The look had become his signature since receiving the rank of jounin in hoshigakure. He’d let out a tired sigh as he made his way to his rooms door.

To be honest, he wasn’t even completely sure he was ready for the rank of jounin. He was sure he had the strength, his fight with the two tails had assured him of that. But his ability to lead in battle? That responsibility was a bit heavier than strength alone, and he had no way of knowing if he was ready for that.

Ready to begin his day the uncertain jounin would open his door and make his way into what he was sure to be an empty hallway, after all komori had been nowhere to be found for quite some time.

Moving into the hallway Komon’s ever perceptive eyes took note of a pink piggy bank through the cracked door of his brothers room. Having a spout of minor ptsd he’d remember the swordsman robbing him blind, reminding him of the empty money pouch he currently possessed. Well I wiiiiiill pay him back… He’d think to himself before tiptoeing into his brothers room and taking out 8250 ryo, just enough for what he intended to buy.

Putting the adorable pink ceramic pig back onto his brothers nightstand he’d hear a call from the downstairs kitchen. “Alright, just let me finish robbing you real quick” He’d say tucking the money into his pouch and walking back into the hallway and made his way down the stairs to the scent of his brothers delicious food.

As he made his way down the stairs however he’d simply grab his mug and walk out the door, whistling a catchy tune similar to the dwarves from snow white, completely ignoring his brother, after all he had people to see and warhammers to buy.

“Wait what?” Komori called out to his brother, who he must have misheard, but he got no response. “Oh well,” Komori would casually say as he went back to making some waffles, you know, Komon’s favorite dish. His back turned, he did not even notice his own brother leaving the house as the Hozuki continued whistling the song stuck in his head.

“...under pressure…”

Komori poured the batter in the bowl, stirring it vivaciously as he casually cooked, free of worry. He then plugged in the waffle iron and poured the batter into it, after a generous amount of stirring. This was a pretty simple task really. Waffles were basically just pancakes with abs, you know.

“...this is our last dance…”

The whistling had turned to comfortable singing. After all, why would he not be in a good mood? The sun was shining and nothing was amiss. Nothing at all. Except for 8250 ryo.

Several minutes later the wooden door to their apartment would fly off of it’s hinges with a loud thud as Komon crashed through the door. “Yo Komori check out this sweet new hammer…”  He’d begin to say before taking a whiff of the fresh food Komori had created.

“Is that waffles?” He’d ask quizzically. “I love waffles”

“Wait when did we make that rule” He’d ask confused before shrugging, it didn’t really matter. Waffles were much more important than any ninja tool. He’d toss the weapon over his shoulder hearing a loud crash as it shattered an unknown object behind him. He didn’t care to look, better to not know what he destroyed after all.

Rubbing his hands together he’d walk with a grin on his face to the table before snatching the maple syrup and drowning his breakfast food in flavor. “So what are your plans for the day” He’d ask his brother. Komon had been pretty bored lately, wasn’t a lot to do in kumogakure at the moment. Perhaps his brother could bring something semi interesting to the table.

Still eating his waffle Komon would turn his head to the smashed vase as his brother went on about it. “Oofs” He’d say with a stuffed mouth before turning back to him and listening about how he wanted to go back to pottery class to replace it. It sounded kinda boring but what the hell he had nothing better to do. “Mind if I tag along, been pretty bored lately.. and you can have my vase” He’d say between waffles.

Taking another bite into the delicious breakfast food in front of him Komon would simply hold a finger up to his brother when he asked about the hammer, as if to signify that he’d tell him about it later. After a ridiculously long amount of chewing Komon would finally clear his throat before giving his brother a rather half assed lie.

“Ummmm… I found it?” He’d say as more of a question. “In the dumpster”

Yah, that’ll fool him He’d think to himself, after all his brother wasn’t the sharpest ninja tool in the weapons pouch. Then the hyuuga would reach for a glass of milk before guzzling it down to help guide the remains of the waffle through his digestive system.
