The Unimaginative Title [P]

The moment the world's most obedient student channeled a bit of chakra into the paper lightning began to jump between his fingers, and almost immediately it wrinkled with force. "I see." Ayato said with a sad smile appearing across his lips. The knowledge of this was a kunai to the gut more than anything else. Ayato, ever since he was a toddler loved reading stories in the books, and like every other kid in the realm of the shinobi the Tale of Naruto Uzumaki was his favorite. 

Sometimes he read the story with so much passion that he dreamt he was one of the heroes of that story. He knew them all Sasuke and Itachi the Uchiha brothers, the later falling on the blade of the former as tears run across their cheeks. Gaara of the Sand, Neji Hyuuga, Ayato's own blood.  But none of the aforementioned legendary shinobi was Ayato's favorite - no, not even Neji who by all accounts should have, Ayato's favorite was Kakashi Hatake of the lightning blade. 

The Hyuuga without uttering a single word put the hand in left his pocket and pulled out a parchment of chakra induction paper. Holding it high with his left hand for Sora to see, he tore it apart with his right.  With a piece of the torn paper in each hand, the chakra was channeled from his left, and the paper turned to ash with a fiery ignition. 

The paper on his right hand, however, met a slightly different fate. It gave weak vibration weekly once or twice. Then it stopped before starting to do the same. It took a full minute before it gave the paper seemingly started to crushed beneath the weight of someone's fingers - but not Ayato's since his own were the ones holding it in place. 

What was left unsaid was better understood at times, but Sora Nishimata appeared to be quite the dense individual. As such Ayato didn't want to take any chances with this. "I may not be able to make the paper wrinkle with a nod but I am no stranger to the lighting release myself." Ayato let out before throwing the crushed ball of paper over his right shoulder, flying above the bushes before it finally hit the dumpster a few feet behind the duo. Like the coffee can before, this showcased Ayato's marksmanship. But while the coffee can be merely brushed off as an act of laziness, hints of frustration were there with this shot. 

Can you really blame Ayato, though? How could he not be frustrated? His admiration of Kakashi Hatake led him to try to learn everything there was to be learned about the lightning element before he learned to hold a kunai. Or take his Gentle Fist stance, for that matter.  The lightning element outsources electricity from the user's system to paralyze the target. During his recent studies in Chakra Infusion, and how to increase the potency of bladed weapons with the use of elemental release, I learned that lightning can increase piercing power through vibrations, with the added effect of inducing numbness. 

But yeah this didn't matter in the end of the day to learn lighting release one had to learn electricity. And to understand electricity, it was important to know atoms first, the building blocks of the universe. Everything in the universe is made of atoms—every star, every tree, and every animal. The human body is made of atoms. Air and water are made of atoms, too. Atoms are so small that millions of them would fit on the head of a pin. How many days and nights did he spend reading about it?

"First I'll give you an exhibition on how the manifestation of elemental chakra looks like. Even though we don't have the same element it should work, to make a point later on. " Drawing a deep breath, Ayato would close his eyes and visualize the flame, flicker in his stomach. Bringing his hands in front of his chest, he would execute the tiger and boar hand seals, not in quick succession, as if not to make it difficult for the kid to follow. Leaving the ball of flame to spin in his stomach, for a few moments, Ayato unleashed the hand seals and quickly interlocked the thumb and index finger of his right dominant hand in a circle and place it in front of his mouth. 
 
Doing this helped him control the combustion of the fireball so it would not explode in front of his face, instead of traveling a couple of meters as a stream before taking on proper shape.  The burning in his lungs followed and the fire spews from his lips. The tongue of flame quickly turned into a 2-meter fireball of red, orange and yellow color hues roaring in the sky. The heat emitted from the boiling ball of flame made sweat trickle upon Ayato's brow and across the small bridge of his nose. 
 
The Hyuuga sustained it there for half a minute before the flames extinguished. Then turned his gaze to meet Sora Nishimata once again,"That was the Great Fireball Technique."  Ayato said with a calm tone. "This is to understand that elemental releases don't always work the same way. While Fire Release is performed by molding superheated chakra inside the stomach before releasing it via the lungs and mouth, which doesn't make much sense, since you don't burn to death or die from smoke inhalation. Lighting is different, much more scientific...if you prefer." Ayato paused for a moment and curled a hand into a fist before bringing it under his check, in a manner to think,  which implied a careful choice in the words that would follow. 

"Lightning is a form of electricity. Lightning is electrons moving from one cloud to another or electrons jumping from a cloud to the ground. Following the same concept, the electrons have to be outsourced from your chakra system towards something else...towards someone else."
Ayato finished and slid the hand under that chiseled jaw line of this and let it rest on his side.  He kept a long pause before turning to meet Sora's gaze with his own. "Have you ever felt a shock when you touched an object after walking across a carpet? A stream of electrons jumped to you from that object. This is called static electricity. " 

To some, what was to come might cause mediocre discomfort but Ayato was a sturdy lad and didn't care all that much. He was a shinobi and a shinobi is expected to get his hands dirty of rough himself up a little bit. And this time this situation could even prove beneficial for his own development - somewhere he read that being hit by the lighting element could speed up one's own process of learning it.

"Try to isolate the feeling I just described while visualizing the electricity flowing into the palm of your hand. You know what you have to do next, I trust."

Once his senpai showed him his element, Sora was a bit jealous of the Hyuuga's fire element and his eyes. Then fireball disappeared, Sora looked back at Ayato. He wondered if Ayato could teach Sora anything over C rank. Sora found this very unlikely and still gave Ayato is signature blank stare. 

Then Ayato instructed the academy student to envision like how static feels. It was hard than he thought as he found. He was holding his wrist with his opposite hand, envision the static he would feel when touching his peers with static fingers by accident. Then he felt the static in his chakra, so he moved on to the next step Ayato senpai explained, isolation. He starts to move the static chakra with into his palm. It was a process but he was eventually about to do as the genin instructed. He looks up to see his senpai's eyes for further instruction. As he looked he still had to focus on the chakra.

Ayato introduced the jutsu he was going to try teaching Sora, his first lighting style jutsu. "The Cramp techique." Sora repeated in his head. From Ayato's description of the jutsu, this was a effective jutsu in the art of battle in Sora's opinion. Ayato mentioned his excitement for other lighting jutsu with more destructive power, which he wasn't wrong. Oh how he longed for a power jutsu to strike fear into enemies. 

Now was the time to try using the jutsu. Sora tried to remembering the static feeling. Then once he thought he had it, he stopped using his chakra to preform the hand signs in order as the genin spoke, Bird-snake-dragon-horse-ox. Once the sighs were complete, he pull his arm behind him. Sora figrued that the genin was going to be is rag doll again, he trust that Ayato was able to take on a D-ranked jutsu. "Forgive me, Ayato senpai." He had in hoping for mercy. The trusts his arm and aimed for the genin's right bicep. 

If Sora was able to strike Ayato with his jutsu, he would use that static feeling into Ayato's arm. Once that was complete, His senpai's right arm would cramp up in the lighting style's power.

Sora  noticed his senpai's arm, it had worked with great results. Ayato wasn't able lift his arm like he stated. Sora saw this as a great jutsu to master as the Hyuuga explained that he could use it without hand sign,which was time consuming.  

"...Lightning is truly a lesson in physical science...and more importantly humility. " This quote that the genin got Sora thinking. Maybe if I research about lighting, I could develop new jutsu of my own, He smirked to himself thinking of this. Ayato was helping with understanding the science, which Sora started to think of the science behind a lot of his jutsu. With all off the science , it involved chakra as a huge factor. Sora wondered if there was a jutsu that could effect outside the users body.

"Unfortunately, so much that they forget to keep their wits about their head, and sooner or later it turns to bite them in the ass...Remember this, your mind is a terrible thing to waste." The Hyuuga said as he places his index finger on Sora temple. Sora looked at Ayato blankly, his face didn't show it but he was very grateful for those words. For a long time he had wondered if the knowledge for school was worth it. All the other kids didn't seem to pay attention to lessons like Sora did. Sora saw this and wondered if it was normal to like the knowledge he was being taught. Now that Ayato said this, he felt it was all cleared up. Sora nods. 

Sora then remembered that Ayato said that he could master the cramp technique so he could use it without hand signs. He began the use the static he used earlier to use the jutsu, he didn't try hand signs to get it with out it. Sora got the static going and when he touched his own arm. He noticed nothing happened to his arm once he touched it with his technique. He tried to get it two more times, neither of them were successful. Once he stopped he notice how tired he was and sore from all the chakra use and exercise he did with Ayato. "Senpai, may we stop for today, I have used to much chakra." Sora say looking at Ayato with sweaty face and darken eye lids.

The kid announced his desire to leave. The red sun setting field gave a somber orange cast to his skin and put deep shadows in the hollows of his eyes. They had been at it for a while…time flies when training. Ayato never felt any comfort in groups and being around many people always made him nervous. But training was different when you had company, steal a minute or two with a jest, thrive to do your best when the other is watching, and more importantly having a real partner, not a wooden ragdoll to test out your fighting techniques. Truth be told last part sometimes may depend on the sparring partner.
 
“I see, alright then. Remember to stretch at the end of training, to make sure the body doesn’t stiffen. Feel free to follow me lead.” Starting with the neck he tilted the head to the right and slowly rolled it down and to the left. Then he reversed to the right. He would repeat five times in each direction.  After he was done with the rolls he bent his right ear to the right shoulder and placed the right hand over left temple and add a little extra pressure by gently pulling the head to the right. His left hand rested at his side. He held that position for about 30 seconds and then he went on to repeat the process with the opposite side as well. After the neck and remaining in a position of proper alignment, Ayato rolled shoulders up, then back, then down in a fluid motion. He repeated this backward shoulder roll movement about 10 times, then reversed it, rolling forward about 10 times.  He thought with a sigh midways to the last stretching exercise. He crossed a straight right arm across his chest and used his left hand to gently pull right upper arm closer to his body. He held for ten seconds before repeating on the other side.

When he was done, he turned to look at Sora for what would be the last time today. "You might have done well today, but still, you have a lot more to learn.” Ayato let out firmly.  Ayato had to be strict. Maybe he was not the right person. Sora should be learning that from a mouth of a shinobi with greater prestige like Kyousuke Snow. Yet his teacher had gone off the gates Hoshi and had not returned as of yet. For the other higher ups of the village Ayato could not speak, but to his mind were big question marks to say at least. Unboundedly, it would be better if a greater man could lecture Sora Nishimata, but for now, Ayato was all he had.
 
Turning around, the Hyuuga took a few steps before he put his hands together to execute the Body Flicker. "He is a smart kid, quiet and reserved. Willing to both listen and learn. Thank the gods, the village has need of those. " He thought and almost smiled. Almost, smiles never came easily to Ayato Hyuuga. The next moment he disappeared with a gust of wind kicking up grass and dirt from the ground.
