Animals Need Love Too! (Mission)

As Hebiishi landed his hits he grinned at Joro, swept up in battle fever. He felt his opponent's wariness after taking the strikes. It seemed like he was trying to disengage from him, but with Joro's speed only being a bit higher than Hebiishi's he would need to turn around and run to put any real distance between them, opening him up to attack. Hebiishi kept him on his toes and let out another couple of quick jabs at the man as they continued their spar across the field. Unbeknownst to Joro, each bit of ground he gave pushed them closer to the flag. On the small field, each meter counted, and they were getting to within eight meters of his objective.

Joro's plan had not worked out like he thought it would previously the kid was keeping him on his toes that was for sure. They were now only about 8 meters away from the flag now if this was a regular fight it would have probably been ended  but there was a clear objective. Joro was being pushed back after a barrage of punches coming his way he managed to evade most of them but one struck him in the chest at this point they were 6 m away from the flag. At this point Joro had to put his foot in the ground and stop this progression. So he ended up lowering his shoulder and tackling Hebiishi landing on top of him and due to his superior size and speed was able to maintain an attack on him. Joro came at him with a series of combos in the stomach and the chest with one coming across the face to end the spar. Even though the spar was over the kid had put up a good fight and Joro remembered that he always must be working to improve because in the shinobi world you must work for everything or be left behind. After the spar though Joro offered a hand to Hebiishi to help him up and a cloth for his hand that he injured early on. This mission and spar seemed to be the start of a solid foundation of friendship between the two shinobi. Joro offered for Hebiishi to get some tea with him to commemorate a hard days work saying, "Would you want to go get some tea with me on the house after this busy day we had? On me." He would eagerly wait the boys response and hopefully it would be a yes.

Hebiishi's plan worked, until it didn't. His blows pushed Joro back even further as he worked to dodge them, but the occasional one hit. His opponent knew something had to change and he tackled him. Before Hebiishi knew it they had tumbled to the ground. Normally, his superior strength might give him an advantage, but as Hebiishi wasn't very strong to begin with, the weight of the and positioning of the man kept him in position for a good beating. As he took blow after blow he couldn't help be think back to his childhood.

He'd been in this position many times before. Often there were a specific three children that would gang up on him, cornering him and then toppling him over for a beating. He'd either escape incredibly bloodied, bashed, and bruised, that was when he was lucky. Or he would be unlucky and wake up in the village hospital to a stern nurse scowling at him as if he deserved the state he was in. The difference this time was he was being treated like an equal. Joro wasn't hurting him for pleasure, but in honour of the shinobi way. With that thought a burst of laughter came out of Hebiishi. In spite of the pain, he couldn't help but continue chuckling until he eventually choked out, "I give, I give!"

He was quickly let up and as the man looked at him questioningly he just smiled and said by way of explanation, "It was a good fight, I still can't believe how close I got. But it all just became hilarious to me once I realized I wasn't going to win."

In response, his recent opponent offered for them to go and get some tea. As he ran to get the flag he flicked his hands through the seals Bird - Boar- Dog - Dragon and activated a bodily restoration. Once he returned he moved his hands through the same seals and placed his hand on Joro, utilizing the healing hands technique to erase his wounds. He smiled and began to get into a deep conversation about strategy and the finer moments of their fight as they walked away together.

Today had not turned out how he had expected. He still had much to learn about Joro but perhaps he'd done the remarkable, in fact, the impossible, and actually made a friend within the village.
