Meanwhile, in the coming days, Minami remains back at her izayaka, and to her surprise, she hasn't received any further mention or request for her aid. She's left to ponder over what she's learned so far and what to do next. Thus, she familiarizes herself with the village folk and officials on the recent happenings that occurred in the village and the immediate state of affairs to weave a narrative to ascertain the source of these preternatural events. There's little to coherently extract from the commoners, but the village officials were able to give a general rundown of what's been happening as of late: as it turns out, there have been reports of people having strange dreams and waking up to find their dreams had come true. This has caused quite a stir amongst the villagers, who are now fearful of what their dreams may bring.

The most recent occurrence was reported from one such kunoichi, Kobayashi Hikari, a name she's all too familiar with—recounted not too long ago when a trio of shinobi delegated themselves and spelunked into the unknown to nip at the bud of the source of all their troubles seemingly by taking the fight to the Land of Dreams of itself. A dangerous endeavor, no doubt, but Minami had every ounce of faith Hikari was able to scrounge up a reliable retinue of her to fulfill the ordeal. To their fortune, the conflict within that dreamscape was resolved without further incident, however, there's still some work left to be done about the other minor disturbances from beings that escape from said dreamscape and bled into several now off-limit zones in the process of cleaning up the aftermath.

For what guilt Minami felt for not finding herself in the company of her blood relative, she's just glad to hear she's alive and well. However, the least she could do is make it up to her through her own contributions to wrapping up any remaining creatures of the darkness with the others that are available. With this new information in mind, Minami shapeshifts back into her original kitsune form and sets forth to investigate the affected zones with a few shinobi guides to show her the way and dispatch the remaining stragglers. When all is well and done, she returns back to her izayaka to rest up for the night and wonders what next to do, considering her place of privacy was thoroughly disturbed and ransacked. A trip to visit the landlord appears to be in order.

"Something tells me the repairs are going to be steep." Minami sighs as she lays on her back, staring at the ceiling, and pondering over how she's going to afford such a cost.
