Dreaming of ghosts

As he had often kept to doing, Asahi found himself within the castle late into the night.  Time seemed to fly by these days, and there was always someone or something to occupy his time.  Now more than ever he longed for his days on the road with Yasahiro, when their concerns where simple.  Food a place to stay, maybe some steady work.  Times had been tougher perhaps, but in a very real way they'd been easier.  Still, he supposed something was coming out of all this.....right?  This wasn't just an exercise in a waste of time?  These thoughts clouded his mind, as his mind drifted to the clouds.

Dream sequences came and went rushing past his internal mind.  Disjointed as they were Ludacris as dreams often can be.  After a while and more than one dream of pretty girls and sake however, his mind seemed to open up and solidify.  He found himself standing in the halls of Okada, two girls in different period clothes standing in front of him.  "Took you lot long enough to turn up again.."  he'd say with a bit of impudence.  

"You're getting distracted....that's what it wants."  Their voices harmonized in an eerie tone.  Their words jointed together as they held hands.

"That's what what wants?  That's a fair question."  He'd retort, crossing his arms.  Even as he said it though, his heart seemed to sink, a feeling of dread crossing through his mind, no deeper....through his very spirit.

"You need to focus.....it's coming."  They'd say, just as dark tendrils erupted from the floor grabbing the three of them pulling them beneath the floorboards, into a chasm.  Asahi bewildered reached for his sword that wasn't there.  Before him a mass of dark energy, too many legs, too many eyes....far too many teeth.  Just as he was about to be swallowed up, he jumped awake papers flying in every direction.  

A single candle lit upon his desk that he didn't remember placing flickered for a moment, until it seemingly blew out from no one.  "It's coming"  a little girls voice said.  

"Well shit....that's a bit ominous isn't it...."  Was the only thing he could think to say.  Forming several seals, he placed his hand where Yamato had placed a mark so long ago, a symbol enveloping the mark.  He'd learned recently this trick, and now it might come in handy.
