Preventing a Heist ( B Rank ) Empty Preventing a Heist ( B Rank )

Wed Jun 10, 2020 6:24 pm
Mission Info:

Turns out that all of that time spent around the bank was going to pay off for Furozan and he was going to get a mission. A B rank mission none the less and he was going to get to work directly with Arcanis. He was excited to see the shinobi tasked with training him at his full strength, well, maybe his full strength. He was not exactly sure how much of a threat these bandits were, or if they were even bandits, their intel had been a little lacking. What Furo knew was that some men were planning to heist the bank of Kirigakure and that their base of operations was relatively close by.

Furozan sat atop a building across from the alleged base of operations and re-read the intel until it was memorized. He had arrived at the rendezvous point early to see if he could catch something that maybe the operatives had missed. He doubted he was going to be able to catch something the ninja who were specifically trained to do this type of thing would not notice but he could not just sit at home waiting. He was ready to get the show on the road and hopefully prove himself to Arcanis.

The scene was quite uneventful as barely anyone walked in or out throughout the day. This was most definitely done on purpose. If the intel was right then they would be launching their heist soon and he figured they were laying low and awaiting the opportunity to strike. He did feel a tinge of guilt as he had been on guard watching the bank multiple days now and he was afraid that maybe he had let a suspicious person pass through. It was something he had been thinking about a lot lately but he did not bring it up as he did not want to appear weak.

His eyes gazed straight ahead as he awaited Arc, and most likely, Rook to show up. Though he was calm on the outside he was definitely feeling nothing but excitement on the inside.

Preventing a Heist ( B Rank ) Empty Re: Preventing a Heist ( B Rank )

Arc had been given his orders to meet Furozan for a mission.  He was given the option to bring other genin level ninja along with him to complete the mission so of course he figured Rook would be a good choice.  It was helpful to have the young clone of himself along.  It allowed for Arcanis to communicate and see a couple different view points through Rook’s telepathy.  The two of them gathered their gear and made their way to the rendezvous location.  When they got close Arc picked up a familiar feeling of the young Yuki he had been training with.  Even though he was still learning he had a remarkable amount of chakra.  The two of them met up with him on the roof of a nearby building.

“Furo, how are we feeling today?”  Arc would ask.  Rook gave him a small wave.  Rook was also still developing.  He had decided to focus on developing a specialty and even a new element before really learning a lot of jutsu.  But he also had made a ton of strides towards asserting himself as one of the up and coming genin rookies.  He already had a couple A rank missions including some low level combat under his belt, which is why Arc decided he should be able to handle this mission.  Arc tried to include him in as many missions and interactions with the other villagers as he could, but they still were their own person.

After exchanging greetings Arc got down to brass tacks.  “Okay, the plan is pretty simple.  We stick together and cover each other’s backs in there.  We don’t have an idea of what kind of traps or ambushes they have in there, since we can’t be sure that they don’t have any look outs we also have to assume they might know we are coming.  In which case we take it slow.  No blunders today.  The goal will be to root out the entire hideout.  Anyone we can incapacitate, we do so as quickly as possible.  However we have to take caution because we also don’t know if there are any innocents inside.  Regardless of how ruthless the rest of the village may be, under my watch we kill as few people as possible, while still ensuring the safety of the mission.  So if they draw on you, your life is more valuable than theirs, but otherwise nonlethal is best.  Any questions?”

Arc had a specific morality he liked to follow but he was not above viewing his decisions with an eye of criticism.  If anyone had a question he would answer it otherwise they would begin the mission.

Preventing a Heist ( B Rank ) Empty Re: Preventing a Heist ( B Rank )

Furo felt a sense of relief that he was not expecting when Arc and Rook appeared beside him. He guessed the nervousness of the attack was weighing on him more than he initially thought. Which was to be expected since it was going to be his first all-out mission on his own. Having someone like Arcanis by his side was something that made him feel more stable and the fact that he did not seem nervous made him feel even more comfortable. Furo waved back at Rook and realized he was excited to see exactly what he was capable of. The nervousness was starting to wash away slowly.

“Feeling good,” Furo said with confidence at Arc’s question. “Ready to show what I can do and prove myself.” That was the sentiment he seemed to be thrusting upon everyone lately. He was desperate to prove to everyone that he was not a failure and show his father that he was worth something.

Furo listened intently to Arc and felt a tinge of guilt at his past actions as he mentioned not killing. Furo had a sense of ruthlessness about him that he had justified as necessary to being a ninja. Now, however, the way Arc spoke made him feel that maybe he had stepped out of line in the past? He had not hesitated to kill people and really did not give them the benefit of the doubt. He was not sure why but he had anticipated going in and slaughtering everyone inside. He was ashamed of that thought. The idea of doing this peacefully had never crossed his mind but now that it had there was a feeling of…. Disappointment? Was he really a ruthless and bloodthirsty killer who was more excited about the idea of killing than he was the mission? That was a thought he would have to digest later.

“Understood.” Furo said with authority as Arc finished. He did not let his desires be known as he was afraid that Arc would look upon him differently if he knew the truth. That was something he did not want as he wanted to impress Arc and Rook and he would do whatever he thought was needed in order to gain some sort of praise from the man.

“There are multiple entryways,” Furo let the negative thoughts slip from his mind and decided to push forward with what he was good at. Strategy. “Obviously the front door would be worst entry point so I have identified a few other potential areas. The second floor windows appear to be monitored but only every thirty minutes or so. In the few hours I have been there I have seen men appear, glance around, and then leave. One of the windows would be the best way to enter if you asked me. If someone is there we can incapacitate and then slowly make our way through the building. My assumption is that they will have multiple guards posted around the building with a specific room with all of their plans. If they anticipate us coming then I bet they will have increased guards, especially at the front and the back of the building looking out at all possible entries. So if we can get in quietly, then in theory, we should be able to quickly move through the building and not set off any alarms.” He finished and then looked to Arc hoping that what he had come up with was a decent plan.

Preventing a Heist ( B Rank ) Empty Re: Preventing a Heist ( B Rank )

Fri Jun 12, 2020 8:15 pm
Furozan had some great input and he seemed to have done a great job scouting the target’s hideout.  “Good Job Furo.  that tip about the windows is our ticket in I think.  How long since the last patrol?”  Using the information Furo gave him, Arc and rook prepared to Head to the position Furo suggested would be a good breach position.  When everyone was in position Arc would poke his head in swiftly taking a lay of the land before ducking back out of the window just as swiftly.  He signaled to his teammates that they were clear.

Rook once seeing the signal would give a short head jerk to Furo letting him follow Arc in with Rook bringing up the rear.  Once inside the three of them would notice that they were in a rather small room.  The building the hoodlums were occupying was once a hotel of some sort back in the day.  This would have been some kind of single bed room by the size of it.  Though now it was bare and the only door on the far side of the room stood open.  Rook looked at Arc and nodded to the signal to move silently to the far wall.  It seemed their initial inclusion was a success.  For now at least

As Arc and the team moved out of sight of the door, he would listen intently for the sounds of alarms or commotion.  There were two ways to know that you were noticed.  One was loud noises alerting everyone to your presence.  The other was absolute silence, trying to mask the existence of the enemy.  As they listened however it seemed that the dim murmuring of casual tones from the other room. Meant the guards still felt relatively comfortable.  Arc signaled Furozan to take the lead and rook to take the rear.  The point of this was to put Arc in a position that he could defend either side if it was needed.  Both Rook and Arc had their weapons but Arc was definitely more adept at using them.  Arc would allow Furozan to make the next moves, however.

Preventing a Heist ( B Rank ) Empty Re: Preventing a Heist ( B Rank )

Furo nodded and felt a sense of pride swell up in him when Arc said good job. He pushed away the childish reaction to a simple compliment and then gave Arc the information he requested. Quickly, the three of them moved, and as stealthily as he could he followed after Arc. He kept the no killing concept in the back of his mind the entire time and would focus on not hurting anyone once they were inside. The three of them climbed up the building and then easily made it through the window and they all knelt quietly listening for sounds. He was watching Arc to study how he went about all of this and he was impressed at how calm he was. Furo tried his best to mimic the man because it had been working for him so why wouldn't it work for Furo?

Arc signalled for Furo to take the lead and Furo nodded. They both had their weapons out which Furo thought was strange giving the no killing rule but he also took his out and wondered briefly how he would use it without killing. He guessed he could just bash someone over the back of the head with the hilt and hope it knocked them out? It was better, he guessed, to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. He slowly inched his head out into the hallway to take note of what he saw. It was a long, straight, hallway and to their right there was just a wall and to the left there was a set of stairs the went down. In front of the stairs were two guards in the middle of a conversation. There was also a door to their right.

Furo ducked his head back in and he fished out the intel which came with a rough map of the building. It was an old hotel but the plans should have remained similar throughout the years. He looked over the map and traced from where he assumed they were and then he motioned for Arc and Rook to take a peak. "At the end of that hallways by the stairs," Furo said in a whisper to the two of them. "There is a door that leads up to the big room. VIP Suite I guess you could say. Two guards are out there right by the door which leads me to believe that on the other side of that door is the boss or leader." He smirked and he folded the map up and tucked it back into his flak jacket.

He glanced around the room and saw a water faucet and he quickly moved over towards it and gently turned it on. Using the Tiger hand seal, a clone appeared, and using the Water Clone Jutsu technique he made a clone of himself. He turned the faucet off and returned to Arc. "We take out the two guards, we can send my clone down to scout the lower levels while we attack the main room. Once we take out their leaders quietly, we can then go to the lower levels and apprehend the rest of them. If we cut the head off of the snake it dies." He paused for a moment and then said "Metaphorically dies."

Preventing a Heist ( B Rank ) Empty Re: Preventing a Heist ( B Rank )

Sat Jun 13, 2020 4:37 pm
Arc and Rook paid attention to Furo as he explained the situation.  There was a room that likely had the information they needed at the top of the stairs down the hall.  Even though there were a couple guards it was clear that they still had no idea that they were being infiltrated.  As Furo made a clone and suggested working their way downstairs, Rook nodded and used his shadow clone jutsu to create a clone to accompany Furozan’s clone.  The more power they put behind their invasion the swifter and with less risk they could complete their mission.

“We just have to be careful.  Sending the clones downstairs is a good plan.  It will give us a bit more of a response time if they run into anything unexpected downstairs.  Remember even if this is likely where we are to find our information, we can’t guarantee that the boss is in the room at the moment.”  Arc strategized.  “So if the clones head down the stairs while we secure the main room up here, if they run into trouble they can’t handle we will know what is on it’s way.  It’s a sound plan for Furo.  Now how do you think we should distract the guards so we have a window to make it down the hallway?”

Rook shook his head. He didn’t have any techniques that would create a distraction at that range.  Not at least any that would draw the guards attention to the other end of the hall away from the 3 invaders.  “Not sure, Maybe if one of you were able to use a weapon or something to break the window at the end of the hall they might go investigate which would give us an opportunity to sneak up on them.  However with the noise the breaking glass might make we might have to fight people who are currently in the room.”

Arc looked to Furo “I have an idea but it would make some noise what about you Furo? Do you have some technique that might be quieter?  If not we will just have to deal with what we can.  Clones, you be ready to make your way downstairs.  Should our racket up here bring any of the guards from down there up let the first wave pass and we will deal with them.  Keep the element of surprise on your side.”  Arc would wait for Furo to respond.  He was kind of letting him and Rook make decisions about the mission, as long as those decisions were sound he had no problem backing them up.  It was good to see what the consequences of decisions were.  Arc would just steer them away from any terrible consequences.

“Another thing Furozan,” Arc would add after the plan was finalized, “We are not passivists.  Don’t feel like what I said earlier means you can’t harm these guys.  It is just not for us to say if they have paid their due for their crimes.  So if we can avoid it we leave them with their lives.  A blade like a ninja is a tool to accomplish a task, as long as we use the tool properly.  Never lose sight of the big picture.  Don’t lose to an opponent that planned better than you.”  With that Arc would be ready.
