Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK] Empty Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK]

Thu Aug 17, 2017 5:39 pm
The Uzumaki wasn't entirely doing anything important today and was simply just wandering the wildlife preserve and watching the animals with some interest. She hadn’t much come to visit this part of the village often and enjoyed the peace and quiet that was here. She leaned against a tree as some species of ducks were wandering about, not seemingly caring about the Kunoichi. The girl had heard rumours of some dragon like lizards wandering around the preserve but that was impossible right? “Dragons don’t really exist right? It would be cool to see one though I suppose...maybe i’m just being a dumb kid.

"You probably are, though not for the reasons you think." Amber moved forward, stopping directly beside the small red haired girl. They had apparently both decided it would be a good idea to visit the nature reserve, taking a well needed day off. Little did they know that there was no such thing. Trading out her light weight training clothes Amber had decided on something a bit nicer. The cut off shorts were gone in place of a long blue and silver skirt, and her top... had sleeves. It felt weird for her to have picked something that lacked the standard functionality, but it wasn't necessarily bad. The tension that always set in her body had been worked out through a long rest at the hot springs, and she was fully ready to just relax and totally not do any training of any sort.....

Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK] Empty Re: Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK]

Kama had been deep in thought and not fully relying on her senses as danger within the city was unlikely. It was usually the outside that you had to worry about Kidnappers and thieves and the like. Ambers voice didn’t startle the Uzumaki, the girl adept at hiding her shock but she was surprised to see Amber out here. The woman was wearing what Kama would describe as vacationing gear, at least where the older woman was concerned, while Kama had merely ashed her usual uniform. The girl was pretty fond of aesthetics so she preferred being in the gear she had picked out, believing it to be rather cool. She would turn to Amber with a smile on her face for the woman she had trained with as of late. “What do you mean? I was kind of just thinking to myself really...the rumours are rather unsubstantiated. At best it's just a mutant lizard or something like that.
The Uzumaki didn’t want to believe and be disappointed when the creature wasn’t actually found, but on one hand maybe Amber was here to prove her wrong. The woman did know a few odd things here and there and was much more worldly traveled then Kama herself was. Perhaps dragons existed back in the snowy city of Yukigakure but the idea that anyone could destroy a city where dragons would inhabit was just unbelievable to the young girl. She had grown up on stories of Hoshi mythology so they happened to be one of her favorite creatures.

Realizing she had skipped some pleasantries she refocused her thoughts back on the older woman with the intent of not being a rude girl. It wouldn’t do to have Amber think that the Uzumaki was just going to use her for training. “It's nice to see you though Amber, did you come out here to explore the rumours of dragons too? It seemed a little silly to me, as you heard, but I just couldn’t help myself after all. My body is still sore from the other day so I figured this lightweight kinda thing wouldn’t be too damaging and still count as exercise for me.

Kama kind of felt like she was justifying the childlike adventure but the girl honestly couldn’t help herself. The girl hadn’t even told her parents the real purpose of her walk, and Amber had wandered in and probably figured it out in two seconds. Though she would hazard a guess that the increase of the rumors had brought Amber out as well. There was at least something going on here, and the Uzumaki would very much like to be the one that figured it out. That said, she had begun to sense something a bit strange as the girls had talked, almost as if they were being watched. The amount of animals and creatures in the woods made her chakra senses rather unhelpful but there was something to these rumors, the girl just knew it. She just hoped it wasn’t anything too dangerous.

Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK] Empty Re: Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK]

"Well that's no way to speak about someone. How would you like it if I were in your house, talking to my friends about how humans werent real? " kama was interupted as another voice, much lower then the other two, spoke up. relaxing on a low lying branch of the tree to the right of the two lay a small blue lizard like creature. It's scales were a brilliant blue that immediately caught amber's eyes, but what suprised her most was that it's front arms, which were currently crossed across it's chest, seemed to be.... webbed? Sure enough before them say a dragon, about one foot long with bright brown eyes.

"Um.... Kama. Just so that we're sure.... You see this right? I'm not going crazy?" She looked the creature up and down, and as she did it pushed off of the branch to sit up, flapping it's wing like arms and taking flight.

"Again it's quite rude to speak about someone as if they aren't there. Of course I'm real. My name is habbidasher. I am a dragon from the blue flight, which is to say that we hold dominion over what you humans call suiton. Now. If you're interested in learning about us as you say I would suggest you stop insulting my people! "

Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK] Empty Re: Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK]

Kama was about to say something else when another voice called up in a very irritated tone, and seemed to make the implication that Kama believed whoever was speaking wasn’t real. As the Uzumaki looked up towards the speaker her eyes would go wide in shock and disbelief, not quite sure how to comprehend the lizard. The aqua creature clearly had webbed wings, scales and a bright sapphire like pattern with shiny brown eyes as it seemed to stare down at the girls. What she was looking at was impossible though. No way that an actual, honest to the sage, dragon would be sitting before her. Not only that but the girl had just offended her first dragon, the lizard looking a bit upset from her words. At least it wasn’t a sixty meter giant of flames and death and was a little smaller then what she had expected, but most creatures like this had size variations she supposed...though saying any creature was like a dragon was a bit untrue. “That's...your...a dragon?
She said this with an extreme out of confusion that she suddenly hoped wouldn’t offend the beast more. The girl had honestly just come out here for a day off and not to discover and upset mythical creatures. There were many questions running through her head on how to justify the beast's existence but nothing helpful immediately came to mind. All she could think of was that the rumours were apparently true about these woods and there happened to be a draconic species within them.

Kama turned her head towards Amber as the woman talked, nodding to her about seeing the creature as well. “Yea that's...definitely a dragon there...despite what my brain is saying about it I can’t deny what's in front of me.
Behind her back, the Kunoichi tried to perform the genjutsu release and, as she thought, the now flying beast was still there and still just a bit upset at the two women. Was it that unreasonable to expect a little shock from the two though? These things weren’t known to come to humans and be visible enough for ease of confirmation so why did it come to Amber and Kama specifically? “I’m very very sorry...Sir...Habbidasher. I didn’t mean to insult you or your race but...the rumors I had heard said that your kind never stayed in view for very long in front of humans...what made us different? I would very much like to learn everything about you…

The girl's eyes had begun to sparkle with awe as the confusion faded as her dreams of finally meeting one of these mythical creatures had officially come true. Kama really wanted to just find out more about this creature and where it came from. The shinobi knew that contracts between the intelligent races like these were possible and the girl was now fairly sure she would do just about anything to earn these beast’s trust to get them to hang around her. The Uzumaki tried to hold her excitement, hoping she hadn’t offended the creature anymore.

Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK] Empty Re: Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK]

Fri Aug 18, 2017 7:18 pm
"Well I'm certainly not a parakeet am I?" The small dragon fluffed up its feathers, or at least did a motion that Amber imagined to be similar to fluffing up its feathers. Where a normal flying creature would have feathers to fluff it only had row after row of interlocking scales. It reminded her of a beautiful set of armor, but unline well made scale mail the tips didn't lift off slightly as it moved.

"I.. We're sorry Mr.... Habi...." He had not actually said his name was habidasher right? She'd imagined it? She was certain either she'd created the name herself as she zoned off or he was screwing with them. He had to be right??

"Habidasher! It's like a tribe named quest, you have to say the whole thing. "

"WHat's a tribe named quest?"

"EH.. Nevermind. At any rate yes I am of course a dragon. You are also right to believe that we don't often show ourselves to humans.... However we also very rarely find ourselves listening to young girls insulting our family by suggesting they dont exist. RIght in front of me... DId I mention I was right here the entire time?" He was making a grand spectical of making her look like a total ass, and it was working. Amber at this point assumed that he was just screwing around. There wasn't much tone in his voice to suggest actual anger, and she assumed that were he legitimately offended he would have either left or attacked. SIlently she considered what she expected would happen if the dragon had attacked them. He's pretty small so it would make sense that he wasn't particularly strong. He might have powerful ninjutsu though. If he did, they would be screwed. Screwed good and propper. Oherwise they might have been ok. She allowed the thought to trail off. It wasn't important, after all.

"Now. is there anything else you'd like to say about my people while im still here, or should I turn my back so that u can continue with the assumption that it stays between you two. Back in my day young drakes had more respect. That's the problem with you ninjas. " As he spoke he made an extremely over exagerated motion with his arm, as if he were using an old walking stick to push himself up and hobble along the branch. Ok good. He was in fact just screwing with them. That meant they got to live another day.

"Actually, " Amber started, considering her words carefully. " I believe we were just speaking of your race in passing, though...... Kama. DO you have any idea how interesting it would be to sign a summoning pact with a dragon? We could fly across the battlefield on it's back and have it breathe fire to destroy our enemies.... We would be terrifying to duel against. " As she continued the wild images flowed through her mind. Dragons weren't usually her style, but the prospect of a great winged lizard carrying her about the battlefield was exciting.

Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK] Empty Re: Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK]

Sat Aug 19, 2017 3:39 am
Kama listened and nodded along to the dragon, the girl not quite picking up on how the dragon may actually be joking and was seriously concerned she had lost her chance to make friends with it's race. Without this dragon liking her, he would never show her back to where they came from and she would be doomed to an existence of letting this chance slip right through her fingers and into the dirty, all because she couldn’t hold her tongue. The wonderment was still in the girl's eyes, but inside the Uzumaki was nervous and fearful of doing anything to upset the draconian lizard. Amber mentioned the idea of making the summoning pact with the dragon and it's race and the girl emphatically nodded, hoping she hadn’t lost this chance already. “Yes! I’d love to be able to meet and work alongside them and stuff!
An image of Kama in full chain-mail, riding an armored dragon while she wielded a massive broadsword flashed through her mind. None of that was her particular style of course but still, this would make her a dragon rider and a dragon tamer. She didn’t use these words out loud of course in fear of offending the creature, but the thought itself made her giddy. “A-As long as it's ok with you, Sir Habiddasher...I think it would be a great opportunity to learn more about your race and make sure humans like us don’t speak ill of you ever again right?
She nervously pressed her fingers together, now looking away from the creature.

As she did another curious thought popped into her head. The dragon, Habbidasher had said he held domain over Suiton, which was Water Style. Were all dragons water specialists or did that mean they had a wide range of abilities and powers across their race? The more she thought about it the more curious she became of it, wishing to know what exactly it meant that he was in the domain of suiton. Learning different elements from these creatures would be an amazing experience as it likely came to them naturally and without much teaching, besides other dragons. If Amber and herself got this summoning contract she stood to learn everything there is to know about them, and perhaps learn new and more powerful techniques as well that could improve her capabilities. Who knew what kind of powerful jutsu and techniques these creatures held within their grasp. For her knowledge they could have elements that ninjas didn’t have, or jutsu that no one had thought up until now.  The girl would admit that learning to breathe fire would be cool, though technically she had the ability to breathe poisons she supposed. All she could do right now was hope the suiton dragon accepted their proposal and gave them the summoning scroll to sign or led them back to it's nest. The Uzumaki herself would love to visit the nest of dragons themselves but leading a ninja into their home would be dangerous, and the creatures clearly didn't have a high trust for humans. Kama would just have to see what the drake said...

Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK] Empty Re: Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK]

"Of course of course. I love it when humans come into my home and insult my heritage. That's always grounds for us becoming the best of friends. Yanno i had an ally once who used to just walk over and sit on me. Full weight, right on my back. Just plop down and crunch. Broke my arm in three places. I helped him become Hokage! That's how much I respected his uh... Sitting... idea? " THe small dragon was clearly running out of material. He continued to keep up the charade like he was mad at them, which wasn't a total lie, but was exaggerated well past the point of his own opinion. He felt a bit insulted that the two would suggest he didn't exist, but it was mostly boredom that drove his banter.

"Ah yes. I would be glad to help you sign a summoning contract with my people if.... um...." He looked about the nature reserve, trying to decide on a task that would be ridiculous enough to frustrate the two. As his small eyes shifted about the landscape he noticed a great tree about fifteen to twenty meters to their left and his lizard like lips curled up into a smile at his devious plan.

"Alright. I'll help you sign a contract with my people if you can.... Climb all the way to the top brances of that tree. With no climbing gear. Go go quickly now. I haven't got all day. " He looked up the large trunk of the tree as he pointed at it, predicting it to be at least fifty meters tall. THere was no way the two would be able to climb it. THe branches were gnarled and half broken from age, promising to snap the moment they were grabbed onto and there were no effective hand holds along the entirety of the tall trunk. It would be an absolutely impossible task.... Were they not ninja. The issue with his plan came in that the small dragon was fairly young. He'd only lived a couple hundred years and his experience with humans was little to none. Had he been older he would have known almost immediately that ninja at a young age are taught a jutsu specificaly to help them climb up things and walk on water. His ignorance would be for their greater good onthis day.

"Um.....I Think we can find a way, dont you Kama? " She gave the girl a knowing glance, shifting her attention back and forth between the tree and the young girl, hoping that she got the hint not to suggest they had means to easily traverse the monument until after they'd actually completed the task. She wasn't sure if the dragon was doing this to emphasize he was just screwing with them or because he actually was unaware of what ninja could do, but she figured either way would end fairly well in her favor.

She walked over, checking the tree trunk for h and holds, runing her fingertips along the bark of the trunk, and then glancing back at the dragon simply began to walk up the tree. She took things a step at a time, slowly and methodically placing her feet, ensuring that her chakra would hold her, and then taking the next step, for fear that the technique that she'd learned but never really practiced would end up failing her. Thankfully it didn't and after a few short minutes she had maded it far up into the tops of the branches, her form disappearing from view beneath the large green leaves.

"Well that was a tough challenge. I don't know how I ever managed....." She came back down at a run, turning her heels just enough to continue her momentum when she reached the ground and not stopping until she was directly beside the small dragon, waiting for Kama to follow suit. "While Kama finishes her task, it may be helpful for you to summon the scroll keeper little dragon. I believe we are both going to ace your task. "

"Wh... I am the scroll keeper. Children these days... This is why I usually dont leave my cave. But fine fine. I'll get the scroll. Even though you two clearly cheated. "

Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK] Empty Re: Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK]

Sat Aug 19, 2017 5:27 pm
The Uzumaki smiled as she heard the challenge given to her and Amber, a relatively simple task. The drake had clearly not had much experience with ninja and their like and must not know that climbing surfaces was one of the skills that a child would learn very soon into their ninja training. Kama herself had learned it within a matter of minutes of trying during her race with Ayana, and it was honestly very little effort. All one had to do was use their chakra as a magnetic force. The dragon himself should have known this technique as well, as it was a relatively easy technique to teach yourself but she supposed perhaps the dragons didn’t know humans possessed it, or at least, this dragon didn’t. “I think I can do that Sir, if I really put my mind to it!
She would give Amber a knowing smile, the older girl starting out first and showing off the surface walking technique with the ease of a practiced shinobi, apparently surprising the surly dragon that had apparently expected this to be a challenging and difficult task. Kama giggled as she watched the girl come back down, just about ready to pass the test herself. The Uzumaki was excited to have met a dragon that didn’t know quite as much about Ninjas as others, or this test would be much harder for the two of them, as flight or breathing fire were not a skill either of them possessed unfortunately enough.

Kama would put a foot on the base of the tree, charging chakra into her foot and easily began stepping up the large plant with the same ease of Amber, walking up and up and up to the very top, as was the challenge. She began walking down just the same as Amber had, though just a bit slower as she didn’t see much point in running down the tree’s surface. “Thats all I had to do , right? Climb the tree?
She would smile as she reached the bottom of the tree and walked up next to Amber as they both looked up towards the dragon with the challenge completed by both of them. What luck had they met the dragon with the actual summoning scroll that could give them access to summoning the beasts to be used for training, battle and just simple company. Kama knew it probably wasn’t proper thinking of them as pets but she couldn’t help but want one to always travel with her as a companion. It was probably bad class to want to show off a dragon everywhere she went but even still, they were amazing creatures that the girl very much wanted to teach that not all humans were bad or rude. The Kunoichi herself had accidentally said some rude things of course, but she was sure she could mend this in time and with lots of work getting to know the beasts well enough. Amber was sure to help too, the strong older kunoichi likely knowing more about summons then the younger ninja did.

Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK] Empty Re: Dragons: Fact or Fiction? [Priv/NK]

Sat Aug 19, 2017 6:50 pm
"Well. THis is just proposterous. I cannot believe this.... I .... Both of you. " THe dragon was beside himself in disbelief that the two would be able to complete his challenge so easily.  He'd planned to sit back and watch them fail for a few hours, get a few laughs in, and then finally return to the topic of summoning contracts but these two by some sort of unholy trickery had managed to stick themselves to the trees and just walk up. THe small blue dragon raised up, flapping his winged arms to carry him off upward floating through the air in an elegant serpentine movement to hover directly beside the two ninja's feet.

"How... IS it claws? YOu two must have claws of some sort and I just didn't see them....NO... Hm. ITs this wierd energy." He reached forward trying to pry Amber's boot from the tree. HE found out quickly that his small arms didn't have the leverage to be able to complete such a task. Finally with his question answered to an extent and his attempt to tople the two thrawrted he flew once more down towards the ground, landing at the base of the tree. HIs hands slammed down against the ground as he performed the dragon equivilent to a summoning jutsu, and directly in front of him a large scroll appeared in a puff of smoke. He laid it down, unraveling the pure white paper, and signed his name as the officiator before motioning to the two to come forward.

"Alright Alright. Come now. I'll need you two to sign in pen and in blood. THe pen is essencially to say that you accept my race as your summoned contract and that if you decide at a later date to change contracts you agree to sit still while we consume you in one bite....Not me of course. My maw is far too little. MY cousin I think would do a good job. Much larger then I am. Yes. .AH. Ahem. SO yes. You agree to stick with us, or be eaten in one bite. THe blood will offiiciate the power of the contract through means of a dark and secret jutsu. Once you sign then I can teach you how to summon those of my race. Be aware you'll have to make friends with whomever you summon if you want to use their strength. That is the way of the dragons. "

"A...Alright." AMber questioned this decision now. WHy did the dragons have a young inexperienced member of their race holding the scroll. It seemed a bit.... off. Still she signed her name with the quill she'd used to practice her chakra infusion technique. Her name was written initially in the common tongue, drawing a look of confusion from the small dragon. She signed it next in a language none but her could recognize, but that was clearly some sort of code. THis process continued four more times and she instinctively wrote it in a language that felt write, but finally after the fifth she concentrated, recallling proper kanji formation, and signed her name, cutting her hand and signing it also in blood
