The first good day [P]

Itami switched from punches to kicks, all the while listening to Mez. "He may be right." he said and chuckled. "But no one said that's a bad thing." he added with a grin. He thought about her words of learning another affinity later on. It was a thing he never really considered till now but as he went over the pros and cons in his head, he realized it would actually be a pretty good idea and would add to his plan on being as versatile as possible.

He finished with his kicks and started a joined exercise with punching, moving around a lot, and also kicks. He was still however listening to Mez, although it didn't look much like it. He stopped for a short moment to hum approvingly at Mezurashii and then continued his dance around the post.

After a while of good hard training, Itami leaned against the post he previously trained on, and looked at Mezurashii, his hands crossed on his chest. "So, what do you want to do next." he asked with a smile. "As I already said, I'm okay with whatever you choose."

The redhead smiled as she paused in her attacks, cracking her neck she grinned at him.

"How about that spar? No jutsu above the basics, weapons allowed? Or do you want to set the rules?" she asked as she channeled her chakra evenly amongst her body. Taking a battle ready stance.

Itami was still leaning against the post, an amused look on his face.

"Sounds great." he said and pushed himself off, dashing to a spot that was far from Mezurashii, but in front of her. He pulled three senbon out of his pouch, keeping each between his knuckles and throwing them at Mezurashii at high speed. He ran towards her so fast, he was just behind the senbon and jumped up, preparing a kick to her head. He was glad they would get to spar. He wanted to asses Mezurashii's abilities - her strength, speed and stamina.

Mezurashii smiled excitedly when Itami pulled out his senbon, she in turn pulled out her wakizashi. When he threw them she managed to deflect them, but she was taken by surprise at his speed and couldn't block the blow to her head.

The redhead was sent flying but, instead of tumbling, she turned it into a side-ways flip and sent two kunai his way and took a defensive stance. Holding her wakizashi in front of her, the blade lined with her arm.

"Your faster then me" she commented and smiled.

As Mez went flying backwards, Itami landed softly on the ground, imediately crouching into a defensive position. He pulled a kunai out of his weapon holder and just as he was about to infuse it with chakra, he remembered they weren't supposed to use any but the basic jutsu.

The girl landed far back, gracefully as a cat, and Itami prepared for her attack. Two kunai were sent flying his way and dodging the first one, he deflected the second with the kunai he was holding.
He chuckled at her words and winked at her: "Speed is not the only thing that matters. You might still have the advantage."

A second later he ran towards her, creating hand signs for the simple academy illusions clone jutsu. Two clones apeared, exactly like him, mirroring his actions. Itami was on the left but there was no way for Mezurashii to know which one was real. Itami wished he could have used an actual shadow clone jutsu but he was going to respect the rules.

The three Itami's launched at Mezurashii, one aiming for her left side, one for the right and one for the middle, with their kunai. Of course two were completely useless as they were merely illusions but they were only there as distractions to confuse Mez as to which one to attack first. Pure luck would decide if Mez got rid of one of the clones first, or the real Itami.

The moment Itami started his hand signs for the clone technique Mezurashii did her own for the substitution, she replaced herself with a log and reappearing amongst the trees. She pulled out two handfuls of kunai and shuriken and threw them at the three Itami's.

Instead of following her weapons, like Itami had done, she watched her projectiles and waiting for the best chance to attack.

Just as the real Itami striked Mez's left arm, a log appeared in place of her.
Itami turned around swiftly, looking for where Mezurashii would be and just then heard a swish of weapons heading for him.

He jumped up, trying to evade them but one of the kunai still got him on the arm. Granted it was just a light tear on the jacket, but Itami still cursed. His two clones dissapeared and as he landed back on the ground, he crouched yet again, his eyes focused on the bushes and trees, looking for familiar red hair.

He put away his kunai and reached yet again for his senbon, pulling out 8 of them. He held each between his fingers on both hands and as he moved his arms, he threw each of them in it's own path, covering as much of the shrubery as possible. Mezurashii would be faced with one of them which would hopefully bring her out of her hiding place.

Mezurashii smiled to herself, so that was the real Itami. She tilted her head for a second when he pulled out a number of senbon needles, wondering what he was planning.

"Whoa!" she yelped as she jumped out of the tree she was hiding in and out into open air, twisting she threw a kunai at his feet, a smoke bomb hidden in the shadow of the handle. When she landed she shot towards the smoke with the intent of engaging Itami in a taijutsu match, though she would aim mostly for his pressure points.

Itami smiled in victory. So there she was. Just as he was about to charge at her, a kunai flew his way, though interestingly enough way off course, and at his feet. He jumped up just in case but a second later, smoke erupted from it ad Itami realized Mezurashii tricked him with a smoke bomb. He regretted not having his mask with him, though he only carried it on missions where he was in real danger.

Out of experience, he crouched way down, knowing Mezurashii had something planned. He wasn't going to make things easy for her. As much as he was blind in the smoke, she couldn't possibly see through it. His plan was to stay low and somehow find an outing of the smoke. If not, the smoke was short lasting anyway, as it was usually ment for quick escapes.
He pulled a kunai out of the holder, keeping it ready. His eyes were closed, he didn't need them right now and the smoke hurt them anyways. His ears were focused even on the smallest sounds.

Mezurashii blinked for a second when all she hit was air, she almost face-palmed when she realized he had simply ducked.

'Some ninja I am' she thought comically as she delivered a low sweeping kick, pulling out her wakizashi at the same time because kami knows what her white haired opponent had up his sleeve.
