Sayomi's Experiment (Ayama and Vretyel)

"I'm afraid I cannot argue with that either. My father killed needlessly in cold blood and banished me from my clan because I disagreed with his actions. He was most certainly an unsavory character."

Vretyel was not getting anywhere with the boy, he tried to show him the truth in the matter but it was just not going to happen with this one.

"I understand your quest, you want peace in the world and you are willing to do anything in order to get that peace, even if it means that the entire world would be destoryed. Like you I am driven by by a virtue and my journey will be guided by this virture. I seek, search, and try to bring justice to this world, to its members, and to myself; so that one day I may be worthy of being called an Inzumahi, there is so much that I wanted to know about my clan, why they are all gone, and I could be worthy enough to learn and bring my clan to greatness. I want to give justice to my clan and to my village in anyway possible..."

Vretyel finally realized his purpose, that even if he was not worthy of justice just yet, he must survive. He has to survive, he must survive to bring justice to his clan.

"Your path is against mine, by destroying everything against you that would mean that would be destorying my clan, my village, my nation. I need to bring justice to my clan and my village, so for that reason alone I cannot allow for your plan to suceed, and I will do everything in my power to destory you so your dreams do not become a reality."

"Though I do not know your father, or know what he has done, I understand what it means to have a father who guides you. My father is weak and pathetic, and he guides me to become the best ninja possibe to bring honor to my clan and my family. Your father killed, spilled blood, and banished you. He is your guide for what you plan to do, you wish to kill him to bring peace, not to the world but to yourself by killing him dont you? You want to make him suffer for the pain he has caused to you and there is nothing that I can do to stop it."

Vretyel started to cough up blood, although he was no longer feeling pain he knew that the boy had damaged his internal organs, if he did not get out of there soon, within the next 24 hours, he would die just from the internal damage alone.

"You are not a hero, boy, you are weak and stive to bring justice to your father, nothing more."

"What other reason to have? Under all of what you will do and your reasons behind it, it will all be because of your father. You fight for your father, you figth to see him die someday, you will spill blood like your father without mercy, and even if.... even if you can some day kill your father, the moment you do you will become exactly like him, even if you bring peace to this world, you will never bring peace to yourself."

Vretyel's mind was no longer thinking straight, he needed to rest again for awhile, while the boy was ranting on again.

She met Sayomi's steady gaze, her resolve wavering even more. She felt like a building in the middle of a great quake. Her will and resolve was shuddering down to its very foundation. Everything she knew, everything she had dedicated her life to, everything she believed was being thrown into question. She was weak, her chakra may have been returning but it was a slow process. Pain riddled her body as the numbness faded. her brain was addled and his words seemed so sensible.

She wanted to be a hero, to be selfless. Wasnt that a good thing? To fight for the good of others, even if they could not see what was good for them. Shouldn't that be the goal of all ninja?

It would just be easier to give in to him wouldn't it? The Hyuuga was correct, he was brilliant, his words rang with sound truth. Others would surely see the sense in his words. She was sure she could convince her precious people to join him, she was sure. She could see her and Navi fighting side by side, fighting for peace, for justice. Fighting for a world where a mother wouldn't have to worry for her son in the academy. Fighting for a place where people could be safe. Was that really so bad?

Her head dropped, her eyes falling to the floor as indecision filled her. Vretyel was shouting at the Hyuuga, ranting at him. But his words were background noise, they held little impact on her.

Then she felt another memory dragged from the depths of her mind and thrust at her. It consumed her thoughts and ignored her attempts to shove it away. As it engulfed her conscious thought she caught a hint of Hisoka's presence in the memory before it took over.

A smaller Ayama was sitting in the grungy hotel room, carefully organizing her fathers medical supplies. As she put the last sealed box into the bag she noticed a small orange book nestled amongst their winter gear. Curiously she lifts the little book from its nest and flips it over to read the cover.

"Icha Icha Paradise, By Jiraiya," she mumbled frowning before looking up at her father who was seated at the low table, "dad whats this?"

The elder ninja looked up from his scroll, his eyes widening as he spotted the little book. He stood up swiftly and strode over, carefully extracting the book from her small hands. For a moment he stared at it quietly then he sat down in front of her with a sigh.

“This is a book cover,” he said opening it to show false stitching and his own notes on the inside, “I put my notes in books like this to people riffling through my stuff can’t find them. They read the title and assume it’s simple porn and move on.” he chuckled and rubbed her head, “but I should probably change it, most dads don’t keep porn in their bags”. As he stood and turned she frowned, flushing slightly. Ayama knew enough about what “porn” was.

“But Jiraiya was a great ninja! He trained Naruto,” she said. Her father froze before turning to study her curiously.

“Oh you know that story?” he sounded bemused and the little girl nodded furiously, long curly silver locks bouncing, “ then tell me about it” . He sat down and she immediately clambered into his lap, sitting on his knee.

“Well, once there was this ninja! He dreamed of becoming to Hokage! But he had a fox sealed inside him and that made everyone else hate him. The little ninja was sad, but he didn’t give up! He got stronger and stronger and protected his village. He brought his friend back from the snake and he rescued everyone. Finally he became so strong he achieved his goal and became hokage!” she said gesturing with her arms, excitement in her voice as she told her tale. “the end” she said happily. Her father simply laughed at the simplistic telling.

“Who told you this?” he chuckled.

“The old healer in the last village, he was very nice,” she said curling a piece of hair around her hand.

“Well do you know why Naruto tried to become so strong and become Hokage?” he asked, gentle tickling her. She giggled before frowning with childish focus.

“Because he wanted to be hokage?” she asked curiously. Her father shook his head though.

“It was because he wanted to protect his precious people. You see back then there was an evil organization who was after the Bijuu, the animals sealed inside people like Naruto. Their goal was to use the power of the beasts to cast an eternal genjutsu and bring about a world of endless peace. To force everyone to be happy,” he said sagely. The little girls face scrunched up in a confused frown.

“But that’s not peace, you cant MAKE someone be happy,” she said. Her father chuckled patting her on the shoulder.

“That’s right, Naruto knew that too. He became stronger so he could protect people and his village. He grew stronger to stop the evil ninjas. You can’t make people be peaceful or happy. Even if there were suddenly no ninja anywhere people would still fight. Some people would learn to fight better and they would teach their children to fight and those children would perfect the fighting. That’s how the clans came to be, and the clans turned into villages. it’s a working system so it will always come back” he said smiling. Ayama nodded, her face serious, an amusing expression on the small child. She only really understood about half of what her father was trying to convey but she go the gist. For a moment there was silence as she digested the info then she grinned.

“I’m gonna get stronger too, so I can protect you! Because you’re my precious person!” she yelled excitedly, “I’ll become hokage and make peace too!”

She leapt up grabbing a basket of the floor and placing it on her head before turning back to her father. “Now my ninja will you fight for your kage!” she asked imperiously. The man laughed but bowed his head.

“Yes lady hokage,”

The memory faded, the drab colors of the hotel room fading to be replaced by the cave. For a moment she blinked in surprise then she sent her feelings of gratitude towards the blocked bond. Hoping he felt the emotion she twisted to eye Sayomi. He was wrong, peace had to be achieved peacefully or else it wasn’t really peace at all. It was just the calm before a new storm.

“I am a hero, my goal is peace. I fight to bring peace for those I love. That is all we can do, we are not gods, you are not a god. You can’t judge everyone, there are too many ifs, to many buts. Too many shades of grey.” she said her voice steady now, her resolve strengthened, “I won’t follow your twisted vision, I follow my own path to achieve peace.”

Her words her final, her voice steady and determined, her gaze unwavering. She resumed thrusting her chakra at the bond, feeling it give even more under her new enforced will.

“I am a hero, my goal is peace. I fight to bring peace for those I love. That is all we can do, we are not gods, you are not a god. You can’t judge everyone, there are too many ifs, to many buts. Too many shades of grey.” she said her voice steady now, her resolve strengthened, “I won’t follow your twisted vision, I follow my own path to achieve peace.”

Sayomi's eyes turned from understanding to dark, as he had already given up hope on the ignorant boy, this girl seemed to have been corrupted as well. This girl was no hero, she was merely another worm who selfishly claimed to be helping the world while pursuing her own interests. They would see expression twist for warmly charismatic to dark and hateful, the atmosphere in the cave changing.

"You fight to bring peace for those you love? Pathetic. Your viewpoint is twisted and selfish, you fight to protect those you love? I fight to protect the world that is falling into chaos."

Sayomi rose his hand ominously, chakra needles sprouting from his finger tips as he prepared to pronounce judgement on the ignorant girl.

"Fine then, desperately cling to those you love, despite the fact that the world is being enveloped in darkness. I offered a selfless campaign to bring peace to this entire world, your refusal is disappointing."

If you live in ignorance, then you will die in ignorance, Sayomi thought, slamming his hand down on the girl's stomach with enough force to shut down her entire chakra network and force her to cough up blood. As much as he wanted to, Sayomi couldn't kill either of them now, he had more tests to run first.

Instead he walked over the boy and placed his foot on his throat, pressing down with enough force to make it so he couldn't breathe. The beckoning charm and appeal of Sayomi's demeanor had vanished, and was instead replaced with his true psychotic self.

Both of them were specks of dirt in the wound of this world, and he was unable to heal the damage that had been done to this world until the wound had been properly cleansed.

Vretyel couldn't Breathe! HE just could not move anymore, there was nothing he could do, he was still able to think but he just could not move, if he did not get his leg off of him Vretyel would suffocate within the next 5 minutes, going into a coma.

Ayama....Help me..... Vretyel thought, that was all he could think.

"You fight to bring peace for those you love? Pathetic.

love? I fight to protect the world that is falling into chaos."

"If protecting the ones I love is selfish then fine, I'm a selfish person. But at least I'm not a twisted psycho path who wants to induce a false peace. Doesn't matter if you destroy the hidden villages and eradicate every last ninja, they will always come back. " she snarled, "your mission is destined to fail."

'I'm sorry," she thought squeezing shut her eyes and clenching her fists as pain flooded through her, overcoming the numbness, 'im sorry im sorry im sorry'

His hand came down, and her body convulsed, blood spraying from her lips to splatter on both of them. She couldn't restrain the scream of pain the escaped her throat and as the numbing sensation of her chakra system shutting down spread she did her best to curl into a protective ball, a small whimper escaping her. She could feel the vestiges of Hisoka's worry and panic leaking through the loosened bond but she no longer had the chakra to continue loosening it.

Sayomi let go of Vretyel throat and lifted his foot. On second thought, he knew everything he needed to about the human body, chakra points included. These worms could be executed now, and save him the trouble of doing it later.

Well... one more thing.

He walked over and crouched next to the girl, he only had one more experiment left to run. What was the point of that receptor chakra point on her forehead. Sayomi looked over the girl from head to toe, searching her pockets and examining her for strange traces of energy, but all she had on her were a couple useless trinkets, a necklace, and a couple other odds and ends. The only think that held much value to Sayomi was a particular kunai knife he found on her, which he quickly pocketed for use later.

Now that he had searched her completely he could tell that there were no tricks. This girl was nearly unconscious and badly beaten from his brutal experiments, and her chakra level was low. There were no variables to interfere with the experiment. With the final checks out of the way, Sayomi activated a small chakra needle on his index finger. With a slow movement, he brought his finger down and prodded her forehead, effectively flipping on the chakra point.

No other chakra points were effected, and the girl still had an extremely depleted chakra reserve. Sayomi watched with interest to see what would happen now that he turned on this mysterious receptor.

"No, Dont kill her!"

Vretyel was numbed from head to toe but he could not allow her to kill Ayama, he moved with all of his force and strength, he knew that the vines were loosening, and all he had to do was push a little longer.

At this point there was no more pain, just willpower driving him, he was getting out of these vines no matter what. HE was going to get out of these vines. I am going to get out of these vines! Vretyel thought.

"AYAMA!" her eyes snapped open, her pupils mere slits. Her hands flexed and a low vicious growl rumbled up from deep within her throat. She could feel him again, his hate, his fury, his intense desire to hurt the one who had hurt her. The Hyuuga had opened her bond and Hisoka was raging mad.

"RELEASE ME!" Vretyel said he would fight for her, he said he was loyal. She would hold him to that loyalty, she would make sure he never spoke to anyone but her and Navi about what was about to happen. Her gaze flicked towards the Hyuuga, her grin manic and terrifying.

"With pleasure," she hissed audibly, opening the way.

For a long second nothing seemed to happen, the world was frozen, as cold as her glare. Then smoke and lightning swirled from her chest, condensing as it rose into the form of a massive leopard like feline. A purplish black smoke cat with fierce yellow eyes, whose very aura crackled with lightning. His mouth full of sharp white teeth were bared in a furious snarl and his eyes promised pain.

Hisoka let loose a thunderous roar of fury, slicing downwards at the bonds around her hands with sparking claws. Then his gaze switched to the Hyuuga, his fury tangible. With another roar he lashed out with lightning coated claws, his entire form crackling.

Ayama watched in awe at her partners fury. The Lightning sparking off him was a blatant misuse of her chakra but she knew he had no choice. He had little control at the moment and he was attempting to do as much damage as possible. Flipping over she practically crawled over to Vretyel, reaching into his bag and pulling out a Kunai she sawed frantically at the bonds as he strained against them they weakened and snapped. But the small movement had her panting with exhaustion already.

"We... have... to.... go" she gasped, panting between each word, "Hisoka ..will... distract... him ..for as long ...as he ...can." she was gasping now but she tried to move into an upright position, mindful of the agony racking her body with each movement.
