Relics of the Past (Mission)

Fortunately for the Hyuuga, Hebiishi came with Amikiri quite willingly. The dark haired Hyuuga wanted to make sure Hebiishi was safe after the emotional events that took place in the lair of the Nightingale. Whatever it was, it seemed to be the quite personal matter for Hebiishi. Amikiri’s best guess was something to do with a past relationship with either the Nightingale or the artifact itself. Well ultimately, this was Hebiishi’s problem and his to solve. This wasn’t Amikiri trying to be callus, simply that he believed that one must solve their own problems themselves and if someone else attempts to solve it for them, those attempts by others will not be nearly as effective.

Amikiri waited in tension for Natsuki and Joro to exit the cavern. The room where all four of them had engaged in combat with the Nightingale was quite distant from the entrance of the cavern and beyond the range of the Byakugan. Normally the Hyuuga would’ve simply switched to the long range version of his Byakugan, but he wanted to keep his short range active for protection for himself and Hebiishi.

It also seemed that Amikiri’s plan was partially unsuccessful, as his attempt to summon the clan artifact failed. Clearly this opponent had protected that cavern quite well, likely with an anti-teleportation effect of some sorts. In a wonderful act, both Natsuki and Joro exited the cavern shortly enough. Joro carried the sword in his arms as he exited the cavern. Amikiri was very happy, as this meant the mission was successful. But there was no cause for celebration yet. They still needed to get the artifact to safe hands within the village. It also didn’t help that Amikiri was a firm believer that celebrating a victory before it happened would guarantee it to fail.

Amikiri walked back to Hoshigakure with the group. While there was a general air of excitement to the group, the Hyuuga pondered deeply on the walk back. Stamping out a criminal and a thief like this brought him great happiness. He hated those who stole from others with a searing rage and the Hyuuga hoped that one day, maybe, they could all be stamped out.
