69th Annual Tanbogakure Deep Sea Fishing Fest

Hello and Welcome!  This announcement is pertaining to a Tanbogakure event that will be taking place between April 28th 0000 through May 11th 0000.  

During this time any Tanbogakure resident or any registered visitor is more than welcome to enter and compete for fabulous prizes.  Vagabonds are welcome to come and register so they may compete.  Below is how to compete.


Each fishing attempt requires a 250 word minimum post.  Upon completion of the post, you flip a coin.  Heads you catch the fish, Tails they break free.  Once it is determined the fish is caught, a 20 sided dice and a 9 sided dice will be rolled.  This is to determine the weight of the fish.  1-20 will be pounds, then the 1-9 will be ounces.  After the flip/roll, the user must make another 250 word minimum post detailing the event success or fail.  Once this is completed they are allowed to begin their next attempt whenever they want within the time limit of the tournament.  The actual breed and appearance of the fish is up to the player, creativity is encouraged.

All Posts should be made in the Rice Country forum.  This is specifically a deep sea fishing contest, so the actual event takes place in the ocean on the outside of the village.  Have fun making this happen for your char through chartering a boat, or good old fashion beach fishing.  Lets see those whoppers of a story!

This is meant to mostly be a social event, so have fun with it and try to team up.  To fully enter the contest post your best catch here. This should include the weight, and image of the fish along with a link to the topic.

The Prizes are as follows

First place - 25k ryo paid for by Tanbogakure

Second Place - Any two augment materials from the Gato's Craft Shop Vault

Third Place - A dinner Date with Asahi Yagami

Consolation prize

Whoever catches the coolest looking fish (Player determine the looks of their fish with any image they wish to submit) will receive 5k ryo.  This is determined by Asahi Yagami.

History of the Tournament

This year marks the 69th time the village of Tanbogakure has hosted a fishing tournament.  Call it a bridge between festivals, or maybe just a way to welcome the coming summer.  Maybe just a way to get out of a days hard work, and spend it on the water instead.  What ever the reason the fishing tournament has become a draw for many within the Rice Countries boarders.  This year marks two firsts.  The first time visitors have been welcomed and permitted to compete, and the first time the reigning 6 year Champion Matsune Kei has not competed.

With sponsored prizes by the feudal lord as well as the local businesses, it is shaping up to be an event to remember!
