Backstory:
A technique developed by Canopic Shinobi for situations where crowd control is necessary.
Appearance: The user touches their hand to the ground and begins channeling virus particles out of their body. This rapidly causes the landscape to wither and rot. The virus particles creep outwards and up to anything in its path.
Handseals: Tiger, Rat, Horse, Rat / Snake / Dog
Duration: 3 posts
Cooldown: 3 posts
Range: 10m/20m/30m
Power: 30/50/chakra stat
Speed: 30/50/chakra stat
What it does:
The user places their hand on the ground and must hold it there until the area of effect has reached half its full range. Virus particles spread out from the point of contact in a circle (jutsu range radius). This area is static and will not move once it has formed. Everything it touches will begin to decay. Metal will rust, and plants will wither. Should the particles come into contact with an obstacle in its path, they will surround and cover up to 2 meters high on the obstacle. The user of this technique is immune to its effects.
Should the particles come into contact with a (non-Canopic) living thing, it will become infected with the Canopic Plague. It will take damage equal to jutsu power (non-scaled) once every post until either the duration (3 posts) is reached, or the technique is healed by a medical technique capable of removing poisons with a higher power than this technique.
The technique's power scales only for the purpose of clashing with medical techniques trying to remove the effect from the body.
Suppose the user of this technique has Infection Rising. In that case, they may expend two contagion counters when performing this technique to enhance the plague and give it an elemental advantage over medical techniques.

Does this also damage equipment health at base power?
Please specify that the cloud does not follow you around should you move from the initial target range.
Please change the S-rank power to chakra stat and specify that the technique scales only for the purposes of clashing with techniques that filter DoT.
Also like other canopic members the user and their equipment are immune to the effects of the jutsu, please add this in.

No I did not intend for it to damage armor or equipment. Any damage to equipment would be for flavor purposes only.

Howdy,
I would like the "plague counters" to be referred to as Contagion Counters as stated in the Infection Rising app to prevent any confusion.
First question that comes to mind: Does the user have to maintain contact with the ground until the full range is closed, or can the user just touch the ground for a second and the jutsu continue without input?

Made some edits based on your feedback
* added a duration of time for how long the user has to touch the ground.
