Backstory: An adopted member of the Terumi household of Amegakure, Kanzaki, does not possess a bloodline. She never knew her parents, just another Ame Orphan that you'd pass by on the street and never look at them again. But to her luck, someone did, a Ninja named Worr Terumi. Who claimed to have been a friend of her late father; they had served together in some war or another. And promised to take care of each other's families should one of them be gone.

When the village was destroyed, the family moved to the newly established village of Hoshi to the North; Kanzaki followed them. This was a very different place than the rainy skies of their birthplace. She had come to realize when they crossed the red mountains of the border and came across the rocky Vale the city was built upon. They were all struck by grief when Worr Terumi died, and all of them, except his son, wanted nothing to do with the Ninja life. 

And Kanzaki felt the same. Worr Terumi lived and died a hero who fought for his village and its people from his first birth to the last. They put his sword above the fireplace in their new home and looked at it with pride. But if someone was to ask Kanzaki, she would rather have a living father than a shattered blade.
