As expected of the future Hokage. For the first time, Specter felt insecure about his ambition, and it came when he was complimented on something he had actually done right. As he kept walking at the front of the group, made sure to take each step carefully, sinking his boot into the snow and only lifting the other boot when he felt secure footing. “You lads might wanna be careful with your footing. Even with surface walking, a loose rock will cost you your balance, the trauma will cost you your bones, and it could cost you your life. Well, usually, anyway.” He doubted the Hollykage would allow for anything to happen to them, be it a broken bone or death. “But, y’know. Might wanna stick around to find the meteorite.” At that time, Goto spoke of a grove, and started to make his way faster towards it. “Hey hey, be careful!”

Yes, it is true, Specter wasn’t the sharpest kunai in the weapon pouch in most aspects, but there was one thing he had down. The lay of the land. Living most of his life in a fen, a swampy patch of land, the time most spent studying and bettering their craft, he spent conquering the land. He knew where to put his feet, where the treacherous terrain would give in, where the surace walking would kill you faster than it would help you. For all of the genius battlemasters born among the Sarutobi, the only kind of genius he might possess was for scouting and tracking. And right now, Goto scared the shit out of the scout within him. “Goto, you’re gonna--”

But there! He saw it now. Among the grey clouds, a wisp of smoke lazed into the air, just beyond the grove. “Oh shit, Goto found it!” He too began to speed up his pace, wanting to get to the meteorite.

Family. If there was one word to describe the hilarity and common ground between the three of them, it would definitely be family. Though it was not anything official or notarized, Ishi felt like he had found a family outside of his own on this journey. As they continued walking up the mountain toward their destination, and Specters sudden save of Gojo, Ishimaru had kept to himself mostly out of enjoyment of climbing the peak. No longer knowing how far they were or even how close," It sounds like you are speaking from experience. Do you climb mountains or equally high places a lot? Or are you just and avid survivalist?," his smile remained although his question was very genuine as well. There had been many things Specter had said that made the young Shinkou wonder if things like this were just apart of his talents or maybe he just grew up somewhere that had him learning much of this at a young age. Such questions boggled the mind of the young genin, but now wasn't exactly the time for it. The closer they got to the top, the more his vision began to wane. Thankfully he knew how to activate his Meigan and did so to get a little more clarity of the area around him. When Gojo made the statement of seeing the top and Specter's erratic movements, he could only assume that they were all at the top.

Making the decision to move faster as well, Ishi would bring up the pace to get behind the other two as they peaked through the clouds and finally found the grove...and eventually their target. He would be the last to arrive in the grove toward the asteroid, but his amazement over the space rock was unable to be calculated by anything. He had never seen such a rock glow and be...well mysterious yet breathe-taking. He'd let one of the other genin go first before walking over toward it and then around it just inspecting it with his wide eyed stare. How no one had managed to find this sooner was beyond him, but he was glad they found it. The journey was well worth it and it would be quite the story to tell for later. He would look at the other two to see what they would do first before harvesting some of the Asteroid to take with them, making sure he was careful and gentle with it. Just because it was a rock didn't mean that he couldn't respect it as well. With a sample or two put in his pouch he would wait for the others. In the meantime he went around looking at the grove, taking mental pictures of it to remember fondly at a later date. It wasn't often he got to do something like this...and even then this was one of the best days. With all of their samples taken, Ishi would take one final look at everything here before looking at the others," I don't know about you guys but this place is definitely going to be on my mental wall of fame. Now after we get back I am thinking ramen or hot pot...what about you guys?," he'd give a small chuckle before heading back down...here goes the trip.

The entire time they were walking, Specter made sure to warn Goto and Ishi about the possible dangers their path entailed. Mentioning each and every single thing they should look out for the ashen haired took the lead, showing he was probably used being in the wild or simply had a great sense of direction. Anyway, all things considered it came as a surprise to the young Senju that his companion had a knack for it, especially after going on about becoming the future Hokage. Perhaps Specter's dream wasn't so out of reach after all. Even more so when one would take a look at previous leaders of a village.

Goto himself was still figuring out the kind of path he wanted to take. He didn't really aim to become Kage, it all seemed like a job with way too much responibilty and although he saw everyone in the village as family, the young Senju didn't think he'd be able to make difficult decisions the position entailed. Perhaps a supporting role would fit him better, protecting Konohagakure from the shadows, even though there were going to be situations where something like that wouldn't be able. However, it wasn't the time for his thoughts to waver as the three of them had finally arrived at the hidden grove.

It seemed they were the first to find the asteroid, which could be called a miracle on its own considering the size and beauty of the rock. Goto would take small steps, carefully getting closer to inspect it further and take in what he himself would think of as one of the many wonders of the world. Even though he let himself get absorbed in its beauty, the Senju didn't forget to take a couple of samples. "You never know what we could use it for". He would wait for the other two to finish admiring the asteroid and getting some samples as well, hoping their way back would happen without any danger. "Yes, if not for the Hollykage this would be a day to remember" he'd reply. Ishi already started thinking about what to eat when they got back. "Hm, I think I'll go with some ramen this time". All of this walking made him look forward to a nice meal.

Before Goto got to walk fast, Ishi wondered where Specter got his knowledge. “Oh, I just, I…” He was a bit of a loner. Not by choice, mind you. But there was only so much hate and jealousy he could handle from his peers, who would often scorn him and pretend they couldn’t understand what he was saying. Also the bullies; people who would just berate Specter constantly just because he spoke his mind, denouncing evil as he saw it. But nobody cared, they always took each other’s sides. So, he wandered a lot, exploring the lonely reaches of the Hidden Leaf and the Fire Country. Wherever he wouldn’t meet some asshole. “I explore a lot.” Besides, living in a watery fen, he had no other chance than being naturally inclined, considering he had to be a survivalist just to get to the academy and so on.

As they reached the crater that the meteor had left, he was flabbergasted. You could see the impact, how the space visitor had blasted away the mountainous rock in an elliptical zone, showcasing its landing trajectory. A soft “wow” escaped his parted lips, his eyes locked on the glimmering and glistening rock, wisps of smoke still rising from the ground as if all the water around had been boiled not too long ago and still retained some of the heat. He removed a glove in this hotspot, and touched the ground. “Warm”, he asserted. Amazing.

As the squad started to take parts of the crumbling rock, he helped himself to some as well. A skilled blacksmith would be able to heat it back up in a kiln, melt the entire thing so the metal would separate from the rock, and extract the metals within to use on weapons and armor alike. “Wicked.”

Now overlooking the mountain with his friends, he felt weird. As if… the three might actually be friends. As if they could have a career together, fight together, bring back the prosperity to the Hidden Leaf that had once been sacked away from it. When Ishi asked what they might want to eat, he spoke softly while gazing at the horizon. “I know a place. They serve family menus.”
