Lumberjack for the day

Minato just got a visit from a crow carrying a message. When he had finished the message it seemed Rune needed his help and was waiting for him at the woods. Heading out to his next destination he wondered what it could be that would require his help.
When he made it to the place that was mentioned in the message he could spot Rune who was waiting for him. After greeting each other Minato asked Rune to get him up to speed about the situation. Now that the situation was explained to him he knew he would have to do some physical labor today.

They were welcomed by one of the workmen responsible for this kind of work, handing the two of them their axes before he went back to his office. It seemed like they shouldn't expect any help from him. "Seems like we won't be getting any help from him" Minato said to Rune before grabbing his axe to get to work.

Rune would then ask him if he by any chance had any jutsu that would help the two of them cut the wood. As much as he would like, he did not have such a thing.
"I'm afraid not, I could always try and infuse my chakra into the axe so it gets sharper. If that doesn't work I can activate my Soul Expulsion or Lightning Javelin to boost and improve my strength and speed."

If his plan didn't work out, they would at least get a decent workout in.

Rune would only hope that Minato would be able to help him knock this out of the water today cause it would have sucked to have to cut all these up on his own. Walking over to where they had laid the trees down to be cut up Rune saw that they had a slide thing for the trees so that when you cut one the piece cut off it slide on down to the truck have they loaded it up with the crane. Kinda cool he thought as he started to look at the log itself, it was so big that he didn’t think he could reach around the thing it would take forever for them to cut through it. With the axes, but that is what they were getting paid to do and it was what they were going to have to do. Rune and Minato would both take turns on the opposite side of the log cutting into the tree and after about 15 minutes one of the works would come up laughing at them. “Sorry, we thought you would have some jutsu to help you out with that the axes were just a joke” Rune would give him a fake laugh as he followed the guy up on the platform where there were buttons. “Press this button and the blades come up out of the base of the slide and cut through the tree you friend down their will have to press the button to release the tree so it can slide down its that easy” he would say as he headed down to talk to Minato about what he would have to do as well.


“Figures” Rune would mumble under his breath once the guy was down and talking to Minato. After they were showed what to do it was not a bad day of work and they were able to get plenty of the trees cut and sent down to the truck to be loaded. On their way out the guy that gave them the axes was standing by the door. “I'll be needing those axes back for the next guys they send” he would say with a laugh as he walked back in the office. “You know I don’t know if I'll save that guy if I ever get the chance” Rune would tell Minato as they left and headed back to the village.

Working up a sweat as the two of them were cutting the trees one by one, Minato was getting the feeling time had hardly passed. Although he had mentioned he could try to use any of his jutsu, he figured it would only tire him out even more. So it looked like he had to count on his muscles and hope they would hold out long enough to get all those trees down. Soon after they were getting tired of struggling, the man from earlier came out of his office with a big stupid smile on his face. Claiming it was only a joke, telling them they wouldn't need to use the axes to cut down the trees. Seemed like they had some kind of mechanism that would make it easier for them to cut through the wood. At this point Minato wanted to punch him in the face, but he had to keep his cool as long as they were able to finish the mission and get the reward.

Having calmed down of this failed attempt of a joke, it was now time to get the explanation of how to use the mechanism in front of him. Basically all he had to do was press a button and the machine would take care of the rest. By the sound of it anyone would be able to handle this, so Minato would have no trouble finishing up in no time. It didn't take long for them to get all the logs they needed and soon they were able to finish up.

Saying their goodbyes to the man it was time for them to head back to the village after another successful mission.
