Chuunin Tournament: Tenma vs. Kotetsu

It was time. Today was the day for the Hoshi tournament to start. Kotetsu was excited, this was going to be a wild ride. He was as prepared as he was going to be. He started his morning the way he normally does now. He got a shower, brushed his teeth, and ate a light breakfast. Once that was done, he would place his hand on a small cube on his bedside table. It would flow over him, forming his clothes for the day. Blue robed pants and a vest of leaf-shaped scales. Leather boots and a shirt of fishnet material. He wore his Chuunin flak jacket overtop and placed all of his equipment in the pouches. The scales today were sapphire blue with a snowflake design in the center made of silver scales. The snowflake looked exactly like the design he had for the necklace around his neck. With his gear in place, Kotetsu made his way to the arena.


He had not seen who would have signed up for the tourney, but now he would see everyone that had signed up in all tiers. Some faces he knew, some he didn't. The Hogokage went over the rules once everyone had arrived. Afterwards, the fights would start. Kotetsu waited until his name was called and went into the arena. His opponent was Tenma, a name he was not familiar with. 'Oh well, I'm sure this will be an interesting fight...' He thought to himself. It seemed though, that Tenma was not here yet. 'Oh well... I'm sure he'll be here soon...'

After waiting a few minutes and hearing no word of Tenma's arrival Kyousuke would stand. "I declare Kotetsu the winner of this round, as his opponent has not arrived. You will move onto the semi-finals of the chuunin tournament. Your opponent Damon! Relax in the back for a bit and you will be called once more out to the arena." He would say before sitting back down.

It would seem that his opponent, Tenma Ketsueki was a no-show. Kotetsu was a little disappointed that he didn't get to fight Tenma. 'Oh well, a win is a win, when the stakes are high...' He thought to himself. It meant that he could conserve his strength, and his new techniques, for the next two fights.  And he knew who his next opponent was too. 'Damon, eh?..' Kotetsu thought as the Hogokage said who his next opponent was. He'd never heard the name before.
'No last name? Oh well, no clues to give there...' Perhaps that meant he didn't belong to a clan. 'I don't want to be overconfident, I imagine he will be a worthy opponent...'



Kotetsu bowed to the Hogokage and left the arena. He would want to prepare for his next fight. There would be a lot of unknowns since the person was someone he was not familiar with this individual. He would fall back on his normal strategy. Likely without Rain Tiger though, since with Chakra Sensory, he would be able to track Damon's movement as effectively as his water style jutsu, without it using up any of his chakra. He had some other tricks up his sleeve that would be very helpful in the upcoming fight. He wouldn't really pay attention to the fights, as the only person currently fighting that he really cared about had a similar fight to him, their opponent didn't show. He would spend most of it planning out strategies for his next opponent, best case and worst case scenarios. It would be some time before his fight would happen, since there were several other fights to go before the second round of fighting would begin. He grabbed a drink of water and a bite to eat to make sure that he didn't have any physical distractions during his match. 'That would be embarrassing...' Kotetsu thought to himself. 'getting defeated because of hunger pains...' He chuckled at the thought while he waited for his name to be called to signal his match.
