Yoshinagi Yumi and Ryu Reinhard practice jutsu

“Kunai, shuriken, smoke bombs, explosive tags.” Ryu said each item out loud as he placed each item into one of his weapon pouches. “Aren’t I missing a pill?” As he said that he spotted the paper rapped orb lying on floor. He noticed the outside had some fuzz on it, but just brushed it off. “Well for five-hundred ryo a dog could have licked it and I’m still eating it.” The genin ran towards the door and waved goodbye to his parents. “See you later I’m training with Yoshi today.”

Out in the streets of the village Ryu didn’t head directly to the training grounds, instead he decided to do dream push-ups. That’s where you sit outside the sweets shop and every time you go down you choose a color of frosting and when you go up you yell out the flavor. After ten or so of those on the way down Ryu ran out of colors, so on the way up he yelled. “Who cares they are all delicious!” Jumping up to a standing position Ryu took one last look at the store before running. “It was too painful to stay. I’m sorry.”

The young genin ran for what had seemed like an hour or so, before getting to the gates of the training grounds. He headed over to his rock and made a tiger seal. “This is the same thing for the great flame shower. I really hope that doesn’t happen when I use this seal trying to subdue Yoshi.” He made the sign and focused a little chakra into the technique. It is really hard to tell when no one else is there and you can’t really use it on yourself. “Sensei said this jutsu could restrain people in an instant, but can be broken out of if the opponent was strong enough.” With an opponent restrained they become easier to hit with taijutsu and ninjutsu, along with being easier to subdue further, like with wire or ropes.


Ryu didn’t look around for Yoshi too much as he knew she would have to find this spot and even though the area was easy to see from a birds eye view with all of the craters and black sand created by the ninja sitting in the shade of his burnt rock overall it was pretty small area compared to the rest of the field. Ryu used his chakra to ascend the rock and kept a look out for the girl. Realistically she could have been behind the rock, as the genin didn’t even think to check. It’s still early maybe she hasn’t even left her house yet. Ryu just shrugged and laid down on the rock prepared to relax until his peer arrived.

Ryu felt he had waited forever at his rock, but as it turned out it was only a couple of minutes. When a person jumped out and yelled. “Boo.” The ninja jumped out of his laying position and made a light scream. Ninja don’t scream, bro. Turning around to see who had snuck up behind the ninja notice the girl he was supposed to work with that day. I really hope she didn’t hear me scream. “Um, I didn’t hear anybody scream. Did you?” The ninja said now addressing his friend. She didn’t hear that it was barely loud enough to hear from down the street, you got this.



With his training partner at the training field Ryu figured he should alert his fellow shinobi to the jutsu they would be working on that day. “So, I want to learn a paralysis jutsu. It uses chakra to bind an enemy and create an opening for an attack. The only hand seal is tiger, but some ninja can use it just by looking into an opponent’s eyes.” With the jutsu explained to his ally, Ryu had to wonder If Yoshi would be okay with being restrained by his chakra. After all immobility is a ninja’s enemy. “Do you mind helping me learn the jutsu by binding you?"

Ryu's face reflected his transformed clone as he realized something. Yup, she heard it. Now I have to move to another village, hopefully one with limited sun light. Yoshi's cool maybe she won't tell anyone. Twiddling his thumbs nervously he opened up his mouth. "Please don't tell anybody I screamed like that."

Ryu waved his hands back and forth in response to Yoshi's questions. "I do want you to get caught in the jutsu, but it isn't permanent." The ninja continued to explain the technique to his ally. "The jutsu lasts as long as a few seconds, unless I do it again. But, its main purpose is to open up gaps in an opponents defense and make a secondary attack with a weapon or something. You could even have your allies make undodgeable attacks using this jutsu." 

A smile grew on Ryu's face as Yoshi agreed to be captured in chakra restraints. He jumped in the air and yelled out his thanks. "Don't worry I promise not to tickle you. Its the least I can do, since your helping me.

Walking away from Yoshi he got about two meters away before looking at the kunoichi and asking if she was ready. While waiting for a response Ryu began focusing his chakra. The chakra I use today will lack a nature, don't want to burn her, just restrain. The chakra in Ryu's chest began torelease it was blue and felt different than the usual fire chakra which tended to burn. I can do this.

"Oh, don't worry.  I won't tell a soul," Yoshi said with a grinned wink.

Yoshi took out water canteen and took a sip from it.  Near the cap, there was a noticeable dent on its side.  After her thirst was quenched Yoshi placed her aluminum vessel back onto her belt and assumed a fighting stance.  

This could turn out badly, what am I doing!? Yoshi thought as she watched Ryu produce a hand seal.  At least he knows a some medical jutsu ... he could patch me back up if something goes a miss.  I'll be okay.  ...er right?


"O-okay, I'm ... ready," tried to say without sounding the least bit worried.

The wink and smile aren't too assuring. Thought Ryu as he looked at Yoshi. Guess I''ll have to take her word, that she won't tell anyone I screamed. Shrugging Ryu just dropped the subject. Well its not the worst thing that could happen.


It was obvious from the look on the girls face that she was pretty nervous, anyone would be nervous knowing that one flick of the wrist could paralyze them for a limited time. Being immobilized was literally the a ninja's worst nightmare. Immobilization means no running away, no taijutsu, no ninjutsu, but ultimately no way to defend yourself. "I'm not going to hurt you Yoshi, I like you way too much to do that." Ryu said winking to the kunoichi. "Not in a weird way though."

With Yoshi's approval Ryu made the tiger seal once more. Using regular chakra create binds around Yoshi to restrain her. The binding needs to be strong enough to not break out of, but can't hurt the one being captured. "Here goes." With those words Ryu extended his chakra toward the kunoichi. As the chakra reached the kunoichi it became difficult to move. Although, the binding wasn't visible to most people if their friend and now fellow genin Togirama were there he could probably see the chakra restraints now attached to Yumi's body. "How is that can you move? I kept the binding weak for right now, just to see how the jutsu works. If you can please try to brake free while I try to poke you with my finger which represents a kunai." As Ryu informed the kunoichi he inched forward with his finger outstretched towards Yoshi.

P-poke!?  Did he say he was going to poke me!?  I will not allow it! Yumi thought as she felt the bindings wrap around herself.  Crap, there's no way to dodge this is there?  You're either able to break out or you are not.

Yoshi's eyes widened as Ryu stepped forward extending his finger to poke her.  Apart from hand seals, being poked or tickled was one of her greatest weaknesses.  One poke was all it took to have her wiggling uncontrollably like an inch-worm.  Yumi tugged against the invisible binds and noticed their resistance.  They were stronger than she thought they'd be.  

"Eeee!" Yoshi squealed in a high-pitched tone as Ryu stepped ever closer.

As Ryu came in to poke her, Yoshi surged backwards which seemed to break to bindings.  Yoshi then tucked herself into a ball and rolled backwards standing up two meters away.  She then assumed her fighting stance, the same one as before.

"That was close.  They're quite strong, I had to use at least half my strength to break them."

Wow she really does dislike being tickled. The smile grew on Ryu's face as he got even closer. I'm not really going to tickle her, but the face she is making right now is nice. Watching as Yoshi began to wiggle it looked like she had more movement capability than he had originally thought. She can probably break free if she keeps that up, I didn't want to make the bindings too strong. When Ryu was close enough and going in to poke Yoshi's forehead the ninja flipped and broke the chakra bindings that Ryu had made. "Nice job breaking them. Mind if I try it again? I'm going to throw some more chakra in this time to see how hard the chakra binding can be."
 

With that Ryu retook his position opposite of Yumi and began to focus his chakra. The bindings I just made were at about 1/3rd of their full power, so if I turn up the pressure a little they should be inescapable for some. This time I really want to try and poke Yoshi, maybe she’ll shriek again. Yeah, that was kind of funny. I see how she was laughing so much when I screamed.

Yoshi was not the least bit excited about having to get bound again.  In fact, that was the last thing she wanted.  She did not enjoy being at someone's else's mercy.  She was too much of a free spirit.

Did I make a sound just then?  Crap, he heard it, too.  Look at his beady eyes.  I'm really gonna get it now.  Karma always gets me in the end! Yoshi thought as she listened to Ryu.  

Much to her dismay, Ryu wished to try the jutsu again, and with more potency.

Yoshi sighed,"I DO mind!  But I guess I will allow it.  I am supposed to help you learn this jutsu after all."

The young ninja continued to stand and braced for what was to follow next.
