The Missing Farmer (Mission, Mack and Eiji only)

Task: A farm at the
border of the village has been attacked, we do not know by what or who,
go to the scene of the attack and see what you can find, we gotta know
who is behind this and stop it, village attacks will not be tolerated!

Mack awoke, feeling invigorated, he got out of bed, ate breakfast, showered, and dressed. He was ready for the day. As he was leaving his apartment, he took one look back, frowning. He sighed, seeing the dump in which he lived in; he knew that it was time for a change. Mack wanted a life of luxury, a life where he never had to worry about the constraints of cash, where he could do whatever he wanted and had plenty of money to blow. Mack knew that this all wouldn’t just come instantly and that he needed to work for the wealth that he desired. He decided that it was time to take his mission game up, no longer just doing D-ranks. Today, he was going to try something more adventurous, even dangerous, perhaps an A-ranked mission. Mack kept in mind that he did not want to do this alone, he wanted a partner to do it with, somebody that would lighten the load and the burden of performing such a high level mission.

Mack exited the apartment building, closing the door behind him. He hoped the would be his last time having to return to the dump. Mack made his way downtown to the man giving out missions. He had a whole variety of missions to assign, ranging from E, to SS-ranked. Most of the people taking missions were academy students or gennin, claiming the lowest level. Mack boldly approached the man, chest out.

“I would like a mission sir,” he said in a very official and confident tone “an A-rank if possible.”

The jounin giving out missions smirked, he had seen Mack before, mostly taking D-ranks. “Sure thing man,” he said “Some farm or something at the village border got attacked, we don’t know by who. Why don’t you go check it out and I’ll pay you.”

“I will do that, thank you.” Mack replied in the same official tone. Walking away from the man, Mack scanned the area, looking for another shinobi of around his skill level that might be interested in helping him out on this task. He didn’t notice anybody at first glance, most of the people were just children taking the simplest of tasks, nothing hardcore like what he was about to enter. He wanted somebody who had sufficient skills and experience. This person also had to be a gennin too, to qualify for the mission. He kept looking, hoping to find somebody that looked strong enough to handle the endeavor...

After a relaxing night of sleep on what he thought was his bed, Eiji sleepily flickered his eyes open and close. As he sat up he looked around his surroundings he had remembered the night before that he was so tired and much too lazy to walk an extra ten steps to get into his house and had fallen asleep on a bed of grass next to his porch. Breathing deeply he thought to himself, "I really need to do some missions, I am getting way too lazy," he took another moment of thought, "I know how I'm going to make this up to myself!" He had decided to do an A-Rank mission, but he had never done one, so he decided he would need a partner for the great feat.

Kicking every pebble he saw on the ground he walked into the group of students and genin waiting to get missions from a man. Once he got there he noticed something strange the boy in front of him seemed to have a very confident look on his face so he noted that a listened to the boy's conversation with the man giving out missions. As he listened he noted another two things , "A-rank mission," and that the boy seemed to be looking for a partner. "If you need a partner I'll take you up," said Eiji to the boy. "The name is Eiji and I'm a Genin, you are?"

Mack hadn't noticed the boy who had just spoken to him, he had gone unnoticed. He turned his head to the right to sum up the boy who was offering to help with the mission. He had said that his name was Eiji and that he was a gennin. He was definitely the right rank, Mack summed him up a bit more. He seemed to be in his mid teen years, he was not too young, but he still had the spryness of an excited young child. He seemed alert and aware, a perfect partner for a mission like this.

“My name is Mack,” he would say to the boy, offering his hand to shake and giving a charming smile, “I would love to do this mission with you, you seem like the type of guy I could work with. Come on follow me, the farm is down by the village borders.” After saying this, Mack would set off at a brisk pace, expecting the boy called Eiji to follow him. He did not quite know what the two of them were getting themselves into, so he hoped that the boy had sufficient fighting skills, as they might prove necessary. The two young men would arrive at the ledge of a cliff, looking down, they would see a chaotic scene. What once appeared to be scenic and peaceful farmland at the edge of a mountain was now chaos, half of the farm was burning while terrified farm animals scurried about. Mack activated his byakugan, while it was at it’s simplest state, it still proved useful in situations like this. It was then that he noticed two chakra signatures, running into the distance. There was another 3 signatures lying on the ground at the edge of the fire. Mack figured that whoever was running must have attacked the 3 people that were on the ground.

“Ah, this might get rough. Prepare yourself bud,” Mack would say to Eiji. He would jump off the cliff, it was only about a 7 meter drop, so he would land it perfectly and gracefully. He would then start sprinting full speed towards the men who were making off in the distance, expecting Eiji to follow.

After following the boy, "Mack", they arrived at a secluded, yet completely visible location. Seeing that Mack jumped off the edge seemingly easily, Eiji tried the same except for the fact that on contact with the ground his legs quickly turned into puddles, but then again quickly reformed themselves. He then followed Mack after the men. Once they reached which wasn't hard based on the husky look of the men they weren't very fast, Eiji yelled, "You know there isn't really any use in running, you guys are pretty slow." Then the men stopped in their tracks and turned around.

Mack heard a splashing sound right after he jumped off the cliff and started running to pursue the culprits. He was a bit puzzled, as there was no water around, but didn’t have time to look back and asked, as they were steadily approaching the men. The men were surprisingly slow, he wondered how they had managed to overpower anyone.

As they were hot on the two men’s heals, Mack heard his partner, Eiji, yell, “You know there really isn’t any use in running, you guys are pretty slow.” Mack smirked at his new partner’s wittiness. It was a hobby of his to trash talk his opponents as well, it added emotional effect to the fight. Mack was starting to feel more of a connection towards the kid, he was starting to like him, maybe they could even form a team together when the mission was over.

“Haha, he’s right you really aren’t,” Mack chuckled as the two men came to a halt, realizing it was useless and that they couldn’t outrun the much faster ninja. The 4 of them were now about 50 meters away from the farm. The two men turned around, they each had long knives in their hands and scared expressions on their faces. Being a taijutsu specialist, Mack easily disarmed the two people with a quick maneuver, leaving them unarmed and on the ground. After some interrogation, using some pretty unorthodox methods, Mack got out of the men that they were just average farmers who had a beef with the farmer, so they had burnt down half of his farm. Mack chuckled, that was why they had been able to chase down the two men so easily and why mack had been able to disarm them with such ease, they were but mere farmers. Mack contemplated killing the two men for fun, but thought better of it; he wanted his money.

“Hey man, why don’t you go check up on those two people on the ground back there and put out that fire, I’ll bring these two clowns back to the village.” With that Mack went to a nearby shed where the farmer kept some of his tools as Eiji watched the two men, making sure they didn’t try to escape. He got out a thick rope from the shed and bound the two men tightly together before walking back to the village, dragging them along behind him by a longer piece of rope. This couldn’t have been too comfortable for the men, but Mack found it entertaining. It took him an hour to get back to the village like this. He took the farmers back to the jounin who had assigned them the mission and explained the scenario to the jounin. He also told him that he had a partner, Eiji, who helped him on the mission and that he should get the same rewards. The jounin obliged, and the two awaited Eiji’s return.

Once the fire was put out after an hour or so of getting buckets from the cobblestone well Eiji decided it was time to meet back up with Mack at the village and get his share of the reward. After meeting up there they both received their rewards and Eiji saluted them both and bounced off to go to the training grounds.

Mack smirked at the efficiency in which the teenager had gotten everything done. He had taken but a half an hour to put out that whole, raging fire. Mack saluted the boy back and watched as he energetically set off into the distance. He looked at the jounin, holding the ryo in his hand.

“Thank you for the opportunity kind sir, I’ll be seeing you around.” He would say to him, before setting off into town. He did not know what he was going to do next. He was probably going to get a bite to eat. He had just made a ton of money and was proud of himself. Thoughts floated through his head of what he could possibly spend this cash on, he smirked, today was a good day...
