Components: Lightning | Yang | Natural Energy
How it is used: Ion Release is the combination of Lightning Release, Yang Release, and the very Natural Energy absorbed from the atmosphere. Derived by Enishi Kurosawa as the inverse of his Foul Legacy ability, Ion Release focuses on charging the electrons within lightning to become ionized and far more powerful through Natural Energy; this is represented through a distinct color change. Second, Yang Release is utilized to breed "life" into this new energy, allowing it to partially solidify and become a new state of matter that is in an ambiguous state between "particle" and "wave." In terms of effects, Ion Release retains all unique effects that Lightning Release has - such as its speed, paralysis properties, conduction, and piercing nature, allowing it to be used as waves, rays, lightning bolts, etc. However, due to its indeterminate state of matter, Ion Release can solidify and become essentially "solid lightning." This allows the user to create techniques that make Ion Release act as constructs, barriers, conductors, solid particles, and much more. Offensive Ion Release techniques tend to have debuff resistance properties, but all are subject to review. But essentially, Ion Release's unique effect can be summed up as the ability to interact and or melt all matter - whether physical or chakra - in the world. This allows Ion Release the ability to clash with mists, debuff or debilitation fields, or sensory fields that possess detrimental effects; in exchange for that, those specific Ion Release techniques cannot have offensive properties. Genjutsu, other sensory fields such as Minds Eye, and other intangible effects are not included. Of course, techniques created by Ion Release can't be "solid" or "intangible" instantly - they're usually one or the other.

Mechanically, Ion Release possesses no elemental advantages or disadvantages.

Appearance: Reiton is typically represented as crimson-red lightning or particles that leave trails of white and red. But it isn't uncommon for it to possess yellow, green, or blue tints. The light and sound emitted from this element is remarkable, much greater than that of Lightning.
