Both Gonk and Travin arrived in a blue flash at the pier. Looking over to Gonk “Sorry we got to take a shipman I haven’t been to Hoshi yet” Travin would tell his friend. Before walking over to the first big ship he had come across. Travin was no stranger to ships and such but he sure as hell didn’t know the first thing about one. Travin was able to easily make a deal with the ship captain to get a ride to Hoshi. The captain was going to haggle the price a bit once he saw the armor Travin was wearing implying that he was a member of the Rentei clan, but once Travin mentioned that it was for a mission from the Mizukage the ship captain didn’t bother. Allowing the two to roam as they pleased on the ship.
Travin would take a spot on the front of the ship so he could see where they were going and what was coming up. If Gonk decided to join him he would carry on with small talk with his friend for a while. Travin knew that it was day or so sail time before they got to Hoshi.

Gonk felt Travin’s hand lift from his shoulder and the two were now at the Kirigakure docks. When he heard Travin’s words Gonk just shrugged.
“Don’t worry about it,” Gonk told Travin as he followed him towards a large boat. “If anything I should be apologizing for never bothering to renovate my pirate ship. If I had, we would be able to just take that.” Gonk shrugged again. “But no point in worrying about either of those things now. Let’s just get on this boat and be on our way.”
Gonk stood behind Travin as he arranged their travel with the captain. At first the man seemed to be overly interested in the amount of money he would be getting, but as soon as he heard the Mizukage’s name, he dropped the debate and told them they could go aboard.
Gonk walked up the ramp and onto the deck of the ship with Travin, glancing back at the village as he reached the top. It seemed like he had so recently left the village for the first time with the same destination. Now he was making the journey again, this time two ranks higher. The world certainly had no shortage of surprises. Gonk also realized something else as he gazed out to the village.
“Crap, where's Momo?” Gonk thought, worried. But after a moment he calmed down a bit. “He should still be at Travin’s mansion where he’ll be pampered and probably informed about our mission. I doubt he’ll mind being left behind too much. But I should really train with him when I get back to make up for it.”
Gonk was shaken out of his thoughts by the sudden realization that the village was getting farther away. Without him even realizing, the boat had started pulling away from the docks. With his previous train of thoughts having left without him, Gonk decided to join his friend at the front of the boat, chatting away the idle hours upon the water

The ride on the ship went by fairly quickly for the duo, or at least Travin thought so. It didn’t feel as though they should be there by now, but then again he had never been there, to begin with, and that was the reason they were having to take the ship in the first place. But now Travin was about to take his first steps in Haven Country and would be in Hoshi in a matter of hours or minutes he wasn’t really too sure on the matter. For Travin this was a moment that he would remember for the rest of his life it was the first time he was out of the village on a mission on his own with no supervision. It was a moment in every shinobi life that they remembered, sure he had left the village on plenty of missions but this was the first time where his friend Gonk was just an ally and there was no one above them giving them commands to follow.
Travin did his best to take in the sites as they got off the ship and kept his excitement to himself. “You lead the way, I’m not sure exactly where we are going” he would look and tell Gonk.

The cool, salty sea air whipped through Gonk’s hair and clothes, causing them to billow in the breeze. Standing out here like this was possibly the second most refreshing thing for Gonk. The being actually being in the ocean. But he was on a mission. He couldn’t afford to take recreational swims. The port that the boat pulled into wasn’t the one he had arrived at when he first Traveled to Haven country, but it was the one he had previously left at.
Gonk sighed as he stepped off the boat, the arid climate already starting to take hold of him. His sentiments towards desert sand had by no means changed over the course of his stay at Hoshigakure, so he scowled as he saw the sheer amount that was all around them.
“Well we should get going,” Gonk told Travin, who seemed to be taking in the sights of the foreign port. “Hoshigakure is a few hours walk this way.” Gonk pointed towards the seemingly endless plane of desert. After checking to make sure he had all of his gear, Gonk led the way onto the trail that cut through the desert and to the village of Hoshigakure. It was as they walked that Gonk realized something.
“We’re on our own,” Gonk thought as the two friends walked. “We decide what we do, for better or for worse. So depending on the outcome, we’ll either get all of the praise, or all of the blame for whatever happens.” It was scary to think about, but also sort of enthralling. Gonk briefly halted to drink some water, and while he did so gazed into the distance towards Hoshigakure, preparing himself for whatever obstacles he might encounter.
