Soma Shin was wondering what his next mission would be and was excited to get started. He knew his next mission had something to do with helping an elderly lady today. He just had not been given any detail about what he would be doing today. He went to meet this elderly citizen at her house and find out what he would be doing for her today. “Good morning, ma’am. How may I be of assistance to you today?” She replies “ I would like to cook a nice meal for my family today, my son is returning home after he has been traveling for some time. Could you please run and get the ingredients and some wood to cook with please?” Soma Shin looked at her and saw that this frail elderly woman could not carry everything she could possibly need for this. This would be a good chance to increase the relationship between the citizens and the shinobi. “Of course ma’am do you have a list or need me to make one real quick for you”. She goes back into her house and returns with a piece of paper with a few things on it: fish, rice, some spices, vegetable oil and some different herbs. She hands me some ryu. It feels like enough to get all the ingredients that she may need.

Soma Shin first thought the easiest to get would be the fish. He heads over to the fisherman’s stall and takes a look at the catch of the day. He then proceeds to look for the fish she would like. He buys it and moves on to the rice which is right next door and buys the amount she asked for. He went to the herb and spice shop to look for all the ingredients that she wanted. He found most of the herbs and spices but could not find one of them. He goes up to the shopkeeper “Do you have any thyme, sir?” “I am sorry we just ran out.” What was Soma Shin going to do. He went to a few other places but none of them seemed to have enough. He found a couple of sprigs but it is not enough to complete this recipe that she gave me.

Soma shin had to think quickly. He knows who always has enough of everything. He runs to the family home and finds his grandmother “ hello grandmother, do you have any spare thyme I need for my mission and the market seems to be out of it. Is there any chance you have some?” She replies by showing me her basket she has enough to spare “of course dear you can take some consider it a gift from the Masaki. Now you better hurry up and get back to their house otherwise they will not have time to cook.” He quickly hugs her and runs to the woodcutter's house where he picks up some firewood. He knows that he must rush back to the elderly woman’s house. Upon arriving he helps the elderly bring all the groceries inside and gives her the change that she has left. He bows respectfully and leaves while she starts cooking.
