Mission

Travin was walking around the village like normal learning where things were located and getting more familiar with it since it was his home now. He was growing quite fond of the place really and most of the people that lived here as well. For the first time in his life, he had the chance to make lasting friendships. He had met a few people that he liked as well and felt that it could become a strong friendship something he had never really had in the past. Growing up on the road traveling from village to village stopping in the towns doing random work for random amounts of money. He never really got to know anyone the faces kept changing. Here he had Bill the food cart guy that stayed outside his room, and Hinata an Uchiha that he had done a couple of missions with now. Plus Ukam big sumo like guy he liked and he liked the kazakage as well. Every day the village got closer to him and he felt more and more like he needed to protect it. This required him to keep doing missions and keep an eye out for people that could be problems.

Travin was wearing his normal black pants and white cape with a dark blue undertone. He was walking around the docks when he heard a voice talking with one of the ships men. He could tell from the voice that it was a young man around puberty since his voice broke up from time to time while talking, and the other was an older man with a deep voice. Travin walked over to the corner standing behind the wall that they were talking near. He heard the young man tell the shipmate that he would be their tonight he had had enough of the shinobi life and it was not for him. He was going to leave the village and make it out on his own. While travin could appreciate that normally it was not what he had agreed upon. Every shinobi in the village made an oath to protect it and remain loyal. Travin knew that it was only words for most that lead to a paycheck, but he was one of the few that meant it. He had done lived his life as a free man moving from place to place, and now that he had found a steady place that he could stay and was just starting to like it. He would be damned if some little kid would go out into the world and sell the little secrets that he had been able to gather at his rank to make a living off of.

Travin waited for he kid to walk away only seeing his backside but making note of it. He turned the corner to see an overweight man with a long puffy beard walking away from the wall and onto a ship named the sea goddess. Travin watched the man with his sharply trained eyes as he walked up the deck and talked to another man that Travin recognized as the captain of the ship-based off the way everyone on the ship still listened to him. Travin waited for the captain to go into his room towards the back of the ship and the bearded man walked back off the ship. The moment the man was away from the ship Travin sprung into action running after the bearded man and kicking him in the back of the knee the moment he walked off the main street. This made the man go to one knee but with Travin not letting up on the force he stepped down with the man’s knee made an imprint on the cobblestone walkway. At the moment of impact, the man let out a scream lifting his head Travin took the opportunity to slip a kunai under his chin.

“Tell me what was the name of the kid your captains going to take off the island” his voice would cold and hard. The bearded man didn’t answer at first something Travin could respect after all he was probably just following orders and it showed loyalty. Travin drew some blood from the man’s kneck and he started to spill his guts, however. His loyalty was not deep enough to die for. He told Travin that he didn’t know the kid’s name only the captain knew about it and was the middle man to keep the captain out of hot water with the village he could plea ignorance. Once he had finished Travin took the kunai away from his throat and the man let out a sigh of relief just before Travin hit him in the back of the head with the kunai head knocking him out. Travin then tied his feet and hands together with some vines that were growing out of a bush.

He needed to find the kid’s identity and he could stop him but first, he didn’t like that people would help someone escape the village so the ship captain would have to be taught a lesson as well, as give him the information he wanted. Travin walked over the ship and onto the deck of the ship where someone asked him if they could help him. Travin walked by ignoring the man and headed for the captain’s quarters. He kicked open the door and walked in knocking the door off its hinges. “Who is the kid your planning on taking off this island” he almost yelled at the guy. The captain almost shit his pants before jumping up out of his chair asking who the hell he thought he was coming on his ship like that. Travin looked at him like he could kill him mostly cause he could and wouldn’t lose a bit of sleep. After all, that’s what he was trained to do by his father kill and move on.

“The name is Travin Terumi, Jounin of Funkagakure, and you have the information I need” he would give the man a second to let that sink in as he walked over to the desk. Everyone on deck had stopped working and was looking in the captain’s office. Travin placed his hands on the captain’s desk letting his chakra fill the room with the display of power skill. The room felt like it had jumped up about 10 degrees and it was getting hard to breath as the man started to sweat. “Who is the kid that you suppose to be taking off this island” Travin looking directly into the man’s eyes while channeling fire chakra into his hands leaving a burn mark on his desk. Upon seeing the mark the man started to talk and talk fast as well. He told him the kid was named Tom and gave Travin the kid’s address. Lifting his hands back up from the desk there was an imprint of both of his hands on the desk. “Let that be a reminder to never come back we don’t want your kind here and let it be known that if I hear of anyone else trying this stunt ill kill them. You need to be gone before the sun rises” he would then walk out the door. Jumping from the ship to the dock and taking off at top speed to the boy’s house.

The boy lived on the poor side of the village not far from Travins room actually. It didn’t take Travin long to get there since it was one of the few places in the village he knew pretty well. Walking up to the house it was a set of apartments that stacked 4 to a building. Travin went in and looked at the mailboxes Tom’s rooms was number 3. He walked the stairs of the old home that had been turned into apartments. The stairs squeaked as he walked up to them so much for stealth he thought to himself. He knocked on the door and from the inside, he heard a voice ask who it is. “Travin” is all he said back through the door. He figured that it would be just enough information to get the boy’s attention and with him being so new to the village he probably didn’t even know who he was. It was also possible that he would think that it was someone from the ship as well. Turns out it was the latter as he opened the door not expecting to see a full shinobi on the other side. Travin could tell this much based on how close his jaw came to hitting the floor.

“You going to let me in or am I going to have to take you in,” Travin asked the kid. He couldn’t be any older than 10 or 12 years old and just coming into his life as a shinobi. The kid stepped to the side he knew the difference in their power just based on how Travin spoke. There was no questioning his ability to catch the kid and bring him back it was a for sure he was either going to go willingly or not but he was going to go. Travin watched the kid shut the door and Travin went over and sit down on the bench next to the bar, as the kid walked into the kitchen. “There will be no ship they are leaving without you,” Travin said as the kid opened the fridge and pulled out a drink. The kid set down next to Travin knowing that he was not going to get away now. “It’s not all bad if you go willingly I can put in a good word for you and you will simply get a slap on the wriest and go back to work. I know you can’t see it now but it is way better here than out their” Travin would say placing a hand on the kids back. “Trust me I was born out there moving from village to village. Complete freedom comes at a cost, and that cost is that you may never know anyone truly or trust anyone ever again. You will have to kill or you will be killed the world won’t care about your age. I made my first kill when I was just 6 years old, so trust me kid stay here it’s better. Now we need to get going though, but if you need anything I live in the motel down the road room 6 come see me if anything happens or you feel like you can do better”

The kid sits and listened before agreeing with Travin as they walked back to the mission center. They would walk in silence no words spoken the kid Tom worried about what was going to happen to him. While travin worried about what would happen to him for scaring off one of the traders like that, but he knew that in the end, it was for the good of the village. If they were going to let someone out they would have helped someone in as well. They arrived at the mission center as the sun was down and the moon was rising. Walking in the lights was still on and a few people were roaming around looking at the open mission bord. Travin took the kid up to one of the people at the desk and explained what all happened. They wrote it down and took the kid around back he would spend the night in a jail cell but that would probably be all that would happen to him. Travin did like he said he told the story in a light that would help the kid out and gave his recommendation that the kid is punished but allowed to continue his training.

Travin left the mission center and headed back home it was getting late when he left and there wasn’t anyone out on the streets. The night was quiet for once and he was starving not wanting to wait he made use of the body flicker jutsu to help get home faster. Bill was standing outside waiting on him like normal he had done started to make Travin his bowl of pork ramen, and Travin done had the money out of his pocket. With thanks and exchange of money for goods, Travin went inside to eat and rest for the next day.
