Studying the depths of the cloaks

There was a whimper amid one of the caverns of the earth country. The sound of breaking bones, and a cry for help only answered by the resounding echo of their voice. A man in the shadows of a fire by light was with a kunai pointed at his throat while the elder man quietly glanced down at him a kunai in the other hand threatening as it was at the ready to gut him. But then the world faded as the man snapped out of the illusion. And before him stood the same man with the crimson sharingan gazing at the petty man.

Zaled simply spoke up to the individual as he merely considered the next simple course of action. Either the man would sing, or the life ends.

"So now that you had a timeout. Lets give you one more chance here. Why was it wise to attempt to sneak up on me? Take your time to answer. If however you are not in a timely manner. Your fingers will have to... go out of service. An suitable punishment for you."

Zaled spoke as he gazed the man over. His chakra sensory was on point and sense's were at the ready. He did not disire to draw blood, but theives and criminals lack mind reading, and examples had to be made. The man balked at the suggestion. His sweat and nervousness were like nectar. A recipe of uncalculated outcomes, and unexpected hostility. an individual blind of the full consequences to why they did such things sparingly.

That and zaled was growing annoyed. Mice should not just wander in the grass. For snakes were in the grass. But like mice. some people make a bad move. This here was cream of the crop. In zaleds books. In fact it was almost as bad as wen a group of theives attempted to do a quick night raid. Unfortuniatly they were cut down, or beaten into a stupor.

The man stammered and zaled clicked his toungh.

"Do you speak my language? Or do i have to stab you so you can find your voice?"

The mans eyes buldged and knowing in fear it was fruitless and pointless to run.

"F- f- food for. Wife expexttting baby!"

The simple words of calling for sympathy. But well zaled lived long enough to keep a yard stick in distance in terms of trying his emotion in an event.

"Food huh. Well why didn't you say so?"

Zaled stated as pointed his kunai at the man chuckling.

"As a man one must provide for a family. But it is understandable. I completely feel for your cause. Times are rough. And protein hard to come by. However, there is... a price to such endevors."

The man although appreciative of zaleds confidence  in him. He could not shake the feeling that zaled was being too straight forward. Yet his gut was confused. Perhaps it was an trick. Or he was over thinking too much. That aside the man nodded with appreciation to zaled with a shaky and hesitant bow.

"Y-yesss... underst- understood... but why are you so formal?"

The man asked sensing zaled merely held back as zaled considered the man with a smile. Although his eyes spoke otherwise. The uchiha was in need of information. He needed to tap a vein in the land. And feel the pulse of the whereabouts. He needed binfomation. And the best way is by starting with small organisms.

"Why you ask? Because you speak my language, breath the same air, and blood still runs red. That is why. However once more your word is little more than the small incliment of its value.... i need an ear. And a mouth for me. A second set of eyes. What have you seen comming through this land? Within about several weeks? Any hasty induviduals you heard of that have been a quick sight? Granted as many village shinobi rarely travel. It is  quiet simple to pick up forgin shinobi here. Am i right?"

Zaled softly gestered about as he spoke. His eyes trained on the man of any unusual gesters of deception. But they were genuin questions of course. What he wouldnt stand for are simply liers. Easily one to spot if one was observant. As zaled was seasoned and experienced.

"Well indeed sir. You make perfectly great since. Like of course why else to listen and follow someone? With the idea as lomg as they could speak and well listen and rationalize am i corre-"

The man suddenly found himself unable to speak as he felt the flesh in his neck was rended with a ghastly wound. The blood gushed from the wound as the man had in a flash of seconds only realized as the depths of his mind processed what transpired. By that time zaled was cleaning off his kunai on the back of the mans shirt.

The body of the man went stock still from the shock as he fell clutching his neck. For zaled had killed the man before he could finish. Zaled did not like weasles. And the shift in atitude alarmed the man enough to simply cut the mans life short. The family could do well without him anyway. A man  who simply acts as a scoundrel really was not worth his weight.

As the last bits of life ebbed from the man zaled quietly walked over the body letting lose its last twitches of life. He recalled the face of many fead men, and even the unfortunate boys that dared to stand before him in his youth. He wasnt known as the breaker for nothing. As he watched the man fade away. His first quiet kill in a decade. A small lull of sadness filled him. With it came duty. The shinobi path was not one to simply be followed lightly. Nor ignored for its merits. A bloody path. And often one that as he recalled left many knights a shell of their honor.

This man was but a liability in the lomg run. A liability that of course younger induviduals would've practically ignored.  That alone was the reminder to zaled of the nature of many induviduals in the world. A sense of gullible and blissful oblivious formed around the foolish. Which often left induviduals like the man dead. As was the proof in the corpse


Walking away he knew he did not get enough infomation, but better to cut losses then to be dealing with a potential threat of dealing with an ambush or worse. An alliance of pillagers, and theives.

Often better to just not let it stand any further as an means of a hinderance. Having made certain that the threats were gone and of course tossing the dead corpse down a raivine. Zaled decided it was well worth  his time to get moving. To head out and of course see if his target was within one of the other lands. As the truth told in itself.

Nothing of value lies in a lamd of dysfunctional and worthless gull. But also nothing came of value from mere areas full of handy thieves and crooks. Perhaps a place of greener medows would suffice?

Zaled considered the thought fondly as he travled onward. the man he killed a bit before was but another sanguine memory to the uchiha.
