Examen Meh! Empty Examen Meh!

Mon Jun 12, 2017 9:23 pm
Tsuki sat at a chair outside the proctor's room, waiting for her name to be called.

Today was the day where she tested whether she was ready to be a genin. Inside the room before her sat her judge, waiting to see just what power Tsuki brought to Kirigakure. To be honest, it was a little nerve wracking.

Her mind kept racing to her father, who was waiting for her back at home. Before she stepped out the house, he told her "failure is not an option." Hearing the tone in his voice and feeling the fear which it brought her, she knew with certainty that she couldn't leave this academy without becoming a genin.

She tried her best to calm her mind and slow her racing heart. Over the years she had been alive, she knew how to be coldblooded, heartless and emotionless, but that was during battle. When she was sitting in front of someone watching her, their opinion being the only catalyst for her success, she became a different girl. Hopefully, this proctor she had would go easy on her.

For now, she sat still, waiting for her name to be called.

Examen Meh! Empty Re: Examen Meh!

Tue Jun 13, 2017 7:51 am
The class of this month was.. creative, to say the least. A plethora of kids who appeared to be on the verge of tears before, during, and after their exam. So many fears.. tribulations over this mere exam. If Hisashi was a kind man, he would have denied them the Genin exam from the start so that they would not be pulled into the Blood Games. If he was a kind man, he'd have kept the students at their current rank so that he would not see their entrails splattered over the arena for the crowd's amusement. Yet.. he wasn't.

From inside the room came more of a bestial growl than a voice, yet it's words remained distinct, "Tsuki Hyuuga!". Inside the room Hisashi waited for the next warm body to delight him on the fundamentals of simple jutsu. He stood a foot from the center of the wall to the right of the doorway upon Tsuki's entry, facing the wall opposing himself. Everything about the white haired fellow was rather average, an average height, an average weight. Yet his face seemed to bare a constant grimace, or perhaps it was the clean scar running from his cheekbone to his chin that gave off that impression.

The room was scarcely decorated, with no chairs nor tables present for this examination. Numerous mats were draped over the floor in order to protect the sensitive, slippery feet of Genin from the lack of traction. The windows were unobscured, allowing the murky light into the room due it to being early morning. In the plain, monotone room there was however one thing that was notable; there was a target board attached to each of the four corners at the top of the walls in the room.

Once the girl was inside and had showed the proper respect, or at least he hoped she did, Hisashi would continue to growl towards her with his clipboard in hand, "Alright, this is simple enough. The Lord Mizukage requires you perform the clone jutsu, and the transformation technique. After doing so, you'll have to throw a weapon of your choice at each of the four targets so we can assess your accuracy." Hisashi stated, his index and middle finger gesturing towards the corners. "Explain the combative application of your jutsu as you use them. If you don't have any weaponry, they will be provided for the exam and only the exam. You have two minutes, begin."

Examen Meh! Empty Re: Examen Meh!

When Tsuki heard someone call her name with a growl, she immediately jumped and released a meek "eek." She was too lost in concentration before, and that sudden burst of sound startled her to a near heart attack. She had to first calm herself and slow her heart before she did anything else.

When she realized that the voice came from the proctor inside the room, she released a low growl of her own. One thing she absolutely hated was someone ordering her with such force, like she was some stupid dog in need of instructing. It was a bad thing, Tsuki knew, since she would probably be yelled at when she became a genin, but it didn't mean that it wouldn't get to her.

Grumbling, Tsuki stood up and walked to the door. She slowly opened it, taking in everything that she saw. The room was barely lit, with only the light from outside to help her see. There were no tables or chairs, just targets held on each wall. It didn't take a scientist to guess what those targets would be for.

Other than her, there was one person in the room, a man with a pretty messed up face. After seeing him, Tsuki had to resist the urge to vomit to her side. That scar, which made the man grimace was, not helping her at all.

Even still, she kept herself composed and walked inside. Although, she couldn't hide the fact that she was annoyed by the way this man growled, showing a scowl on her face as clear as day. Of course, it was Tsuki, and she would scowl at anything if given the chance.

She headed to the center of the room after closing the door behind her. As if showing the man a hint of respect, she bowed to him as she moved and faced his direction.

With that gruff voice of his, the man gave Tsuki clear instructions, perform the clone and transformation technique, tell how each technique could be useful, then throw a couple weapons to show her accuracy. The clone and transformation technique Tsuki expected, but she didn't think that she would need to talk and show her skill for this exam too. Not that she had any complaints. Everything the man asked for was easy, and something a well trained hyuuga like Tsuki could do in her sleep.

First, she started with the transformation technique.

Dog, she thought to herself as she performed the dog hand sign. Next came the boar, then ram sign. Afterwards, she focused her chakra. She made it stream throughout her body, charging it as she thought of a single person's image. This person was one she never met before, but saw constantly. He was well known among Kirigakure. Some loved him, and some absolutely hated him. Tsuki didn't know where she stood yet. However, he had an aura around him that spoke of power, which was something Tsuki admired about him.

When she perfectly grasped the image in her head, Tsuki released it. "Transformation technique!" she said. Suddenly, her body was overwhelmed with white smoke as a poof sound radiated throughout the barren room. When the smoke cleared, it revealed Tsuki's transformation: the well esteemed Mizukage of kirigakure.

Tsuki took a moment just to examen herself. This was her first time turning into someone she hadn't met before. She could do all sorts of dogs, cats and birds that she saw running around her house. She could transform into her brothers and even her father, but she never tried anyone else she hadn't seen. And yet, like everything else she did, the form was absolutely perfect.

She was way taller than her natural height, and she had muscles and abs that she only hoped to attain in the future. It was the spitting image of the man that she saw during the last Blood Games match, minus the dumb dogs he carried with him.

In the form of the Mizukage, Tsuki placed her arms on her hips and stared at her proctor with a dull expression. "This is the transformation technique," she said in monotone, but with the Mizukage's voice. "With this I am able to fool my enemies... And kill them."

From there, she immediately moved on. Still with the Mizukage's form, Tsuki performed the ram, snake and tiger sign. A puff of smoke appeared on the left of Tsuki, dispersing quickly to show another Mizukage form, one that also gave the proctor a dull expression.

"This is the clone jutsu," the Mizukage on the right said. "With this, I am able to fool my enemies and kill them."

Tsuki's explanation might not have been that descriptive, but she honestly couldn't give a better elucidation if she tried. She wasn't the type that enjoyed hearing herself talk, and she much preferred just getting to the fight. She was a barbaric girl that only knew two things: hurting and killing her foes. Every jutsu she learned was for the specific purpose of killing. Her entire tactic was just to kill.

When she was done showing her jutsu, she dismissed her clone from existance and pooff'd back to her original form.

Finally, she got to the end of her examination with only a minute to go. As the last bit, she had to throw kunais and hit the targets. This had to be the easiest part of a test she was ever given. For this, she only needed to do one thing to succeed.

With only a single tiger sign, Tsuki awakened her hidden power: the byakugan. Her dark blue eyes turned completely white, and her veins popped into view throughout the space between her pupils and her ear. With this awakening came the ability to see everything. The lightly lit room she stood in became visible, and nothing inside it could fool her eyes.

She gave a defiant look to her proctor, and continued staring at him as she pulled out two kunais. Without taking her eyes off of him, she threw her kunais in different directions. To the right and left of her, the two kunais soared through the air. Each met their target with impressive accuracy, landing right on the bullseye.

She took out another kunai and spun its pommel, still watching her proctor predatorily. Without giving even a glance away, she threw her weapon behind her. At the same time, she quickly reached for another kunai, tossing it to the wall where her proctor stood at. Both targets hit their marks right on the bullseye, all thanks to the byakugan. What a wonderful kekkei genkei it was.

When she finished, she stood there and waited for her proctor to give her his evaluation. Her byakugan was released, and she stared at the man with her regular eyes. Before he could say anything, though, Tsuki said "Is the Mizukage pleased?" and looked at the proctor with a raised brow.

It started off rather fine, if not slow. A declaration of the technique that was about to be performed, the technique being performed, and then an explanation. Well.. if you could really consider that an explanation at all. If Hisashi hadn't already proctored the exams for other students, he'd perhaps have been taken back by the poor vocal display. The lack of understanding outside of killing, and even so, a lack of explanation on how it even aids that area. Performing jutsu? Sure, she could perform this one. Explaining it? May whatever divinity exists have mercy on the soul of anyone this child would tutor.

The same happened with the next jutsu, but it was less shocking this time. If anything, Hisashi noticed a pattern and realised that the child was probably either just angsty or nervous. Maybe it was just the never ending stare that made the proctor think this. Lots of children just stared at one area when fearful, he'd noticed this during the few times he'd been in the presence of the Mizukage.

Witnessing the two jutsu combined together to display two unimpressed looking men, he'd nod his head once more. Again, the jutsu was fine, yet the explanation was as dry as a nun. Perhaps the white eyed blonde kid was just really shy? Hisashi was simply giving up on explanations at this point, and it was a welcome interval when the kunai were brandished. Two to begin with, striking home, with the other two that followed suit also piercing the centre of the targets. That was a redeeming factor, and perhaps a contributing factor as to why he didn't get the girl to explain further, "I'm not the Mizukage, I'm Hisashi. I can't profess to know what that man thinks. However, your performance of the jutsu is standard with precise control over the details, which is of course commendable. Your explanations were lackluster and perhaps one of the worst I've heard, even when considering the abundance of stuttering squeakers we have. Exemplary performance on the targets, clearly being a Hyuuga has a few benefits." Hisashi paused a little while longer to lick his lips for moisture. He proceeded to tear off a slip from the paper on the clipboard and handed it to the girl, a simple token for a headband. "Congratulations, Tsuki Hyuuga. You're now a Genin of Kirigakure. You can collect your headband at the front of the academy, I'm sure you passed the stand and the attendant on your way in. Simply hand that over to the lady, preferably without scowling, and collect the memoir of your efforts." Hisashi finished with, proceeding to pinch the bridge of his nose as he muttered under his breath the name of the next child performing the exam. He was sure this child was the same one who got a chopstick stuck up his nose..

Well, to say that Tsuki was nervous would be a understatement. If she didn't learn how to keep her cool through training, she would be sweating bullets by this point.

Thankfully, the tasks asked for were easy, and ones that Tsuki had done many times before.

Hisashi, as the man called himself, quickly gave her his evaluation after she was finished. He praised her for everything she did, except for her explanation.

Yeah, she figured he wouldn't like her explanation. Tsuki was never the one for talking, after all. Action, however, was another story.

When the man congratulated her and gave her a slip of paper, Tsuki took the slip and left when she was dismissed.

When she made outside the room, she dropped to her knees in disbelief. Was this really so? Did she actually just become a genin? Did all that really just happen!?

For this one moment, she allowed herself to express her true feelings and released a victorious "YAHOOOOO!"
