Sm0l Thinking

So, Kozai had met a few people recently. Those ninja from Hoshigakure, and that defector from Konoha. It seemed that even as he waited here for something important to happen, at about 4 in the afternoon, he was feeling a little better about himself. What was odd, though, is that even though he was miles away from Hoshi, people still crossed his path. He was definitely out of the range of their sensories, so why wasn't he alone? Well, it wasn't a bad thing. It meant that he could relax and stop trying to suppress his chakra signature. It meant that now and then, he could actually get some sleep.
It was on such a day like this that Kozai found himself in his usual spot (or at least, one of them), sitting down and leaning against a tree. How many times had it been now, how many days had he sat here from lunchtime onwards? Life had become monotonous, even if he constantly plunged the depths of his memories for information on people, or into Iwa's records. Everything Iwa had, from techniques, to villagers was there; even some intel on Near. Not that that mattered, since Near was dead, of course.

Ryuk walked among the borders of Hoshi not know where to go or what to do he wanted to do a little research but didnt know how to get access to the village or its ninja so he wandered around getting closer and closer to the village which was still a ways off. A large presence made its self known and he moved towards it wondering what such a strong person was doing out in a place like this. He moved as silent as he could which slowed him down to a near crawl the closer he got the man before him sat looking at something Ryuk was not sure what but his face seemed to be set in a thinking state. The man seemed to show no harm but to be sure Ryuk slowly pulled a kunai from his pouch and sliding it up his sleeve the point the the weapon would be towards his fingers.

Stepping out of his hiding spot he spoke to the man "Hey there." He awaited response or reaction.

Before the male could step out of where he was creeping up on Kozai, he would have already noticed him being within range of his Coriolis Revelation. Even the weapon that he had drawn would be apparent to his metaphorical "eye", so such things as stealth were useless to the man. He sighed.
"You can come out, but put away your weapon. I don't like talking to someone who's brandishing a kunai in front of my face." Despite the fact that he seemed to be in a relaxed position, every muscle in his body was ready to move at any second.
At any rate, he observed the male who had been sneaking up on him with his sensory, probing, in a sense, every nook and cranny of his body. It seemed he had more on him than just that kunai.... a ninjato, of course. An efficient weapon, no doubt. He looked to be from fourteen to seventeen years of age... perhaps. Such things were difficult to determine. Well, well... his external examination finished, Kozai's Coriolis Revelation would turn to the boy's internals. Muscle fibers, organs, everything. Hmm.... he didn't seem nearly as strong as Kozai himself, at least physically. The strength of his chakra as Kozai could sense it was pretty weak too, but he knew that such levels could be deceiving. At any rate, he would wait for the boy's response.

Before the kunai could be slid up his sleeve it seemed that the man had noticed him he slid the kunai back into the pouch as he stepped out to revel himself. Ryuks red hair was spiked in the back and the front swooshed to one side of his face but out of his eyes. he wore a black shirt and and a grey vest that was white on the inside just underneath the small vest he wore a flack jacket that sported no village affiliation on it. His black pants sported two weapons pouches one of which held kunais and the other shuriken along with his smoke bombs while the explosive tags he had were in with the kunai. Milatary ration pills were inside of one of the pockets of his flack jacket for ease of access and his heavens sorrow ninjato was strapped to his left hip as the boy was right handed and it made for ease of drawing it. along his back was a single katana for back back up the curved part of the blade was put to his right side so he could draw it with his left hand.

"Just got it out for protection you showed up out of no where." He said after looking over the man who seemed to be a good bit older then himself. "What are you doing out here?" he asked

"Showed up out of nowhere"? But he had been sitting here for quite a while... this meant that the boy probably had some sensory ability. Well, that was no surprise. So had Kozai, at his age... approximately. A young talent, perhaps? This might be the most interesting conversation that he had had so far. Time to find out.
"I'm just waiting for... well, something interesting to happen. My life hasn't exactly been the most eventful lately."
It was true. In between random encounters with random people, there hadn't been much to do. It was a wonder that it had been someone (presumably, not from the village, as he had come from the opposite direction and didn't have a sign of a headband on him) as young as this to actually find his location. However, he supposed that probability wasn't perfect. If there was one thing Kozai wasn't sure about, naturally, it was the boy's reflexes. He couldn't analyze the kid's speed and neural refractions, could he? With a seemingly light tap from his left arm at around 60 speed, the tree that he was sitting under would suddenly crack, and begin to fall toward Ryuk at some unspecific, totally avoidable speed. Time to test this boy...

No more than a blur was seen as a tree near him began to fall the logical thing to do as to get out of the way and so he began to move at his slow pace running to the right and getting out of the way just as the tree hit the ground. "The fuck was that?!?" He asked out loud looking at the tree then back to the man.

Hm? So he had managed to dodge it. Well then, now Kozai had a good sense of how fast the boy could move. What an excitable child. As the boy yelled, Kozan's mouth would form into a little smile. Ah, the energy of young ninja. How wonderful that such people still existed in the world.
"Sorry," Kozai said calmly. "My arm... slipped." He stood, facing the boy. "It seems that even though you're able to sense chakra, you've got quite a long way to go. Tell me, where do you come from? Have you, too, lost your village?" He didn't recognize him, so he probably wasn't from Iwa, but one never knew.

"Your arm slipped....sure." He said looking at the man as he smiled "yeah im not as strong as i want to be but ill get there." He told the man a faint smile playing on his lips. "My village....well i dont have one." Ryuk spoke in a matter of fact tone never moving his gaze far from the man. "I was hoping to enter this village to do some research however that may prove a problem at this point in time." He spoke aloud his arms moving behind his head while shaking it slightly.

Kozai at this point would be standing, facing the boy. Hmm... visual confirmation of this one only supplemented what he had seen through Coriolis Revelation. So, this was another missing ninja like himself, wandering the borders? The kid mentioned that he was here for some kind of research. What, exactly? Well, before he read his mind, maybe he'd be able to get something else out of him.
"So, you were born outside of a village? How rare." He didn't mean to sound like a people-collector, but it still would probably come across as such. No matter how he tried, he could never quite shake the stereotype of "mad scientist creep". Maybe that was why people were so wary of him... he could just ditch the lab coat. That might help.
The only thing that remained, therefore, was what to do with it. Hmmm... he needed to think of a good use for it on someone else.
"Have you met anyone from Kumo, incidentally?"

"Yeah outside of the village." He said not wanting to tell how he had left his village when he was very young. "Kumo....There was one girl before i headed this way but she didn't follow me even though it seemed like she wanted to." the man was now standing and looking over him like he was some kind of animal and the more he thought about it he was indeed just an animal like everyone else around the world. "lab coat...Are you in the medical field?" He asked bringing his arms back down to his side relaxing a bit more around the man.
