Trees Aren't For Children Empty Trees Aren't For Children

Tue Jan 13, 2015 11:18 pm
During a rather pleasant day, Risako decided to check out the mission board. She stepped into the building, finding a rather plump, bored looking secretary who just gave her a blank stare. She gave a nervous laugh, and walked on over to the posting area, looking through the mass accumulation of D-rank fliers. As she dug through them, the lady grunted a few words at her, "I just got a new chore for you, there's a kid stuck in a tree by the gate. Go get him."

Risako just awkwardly walked out of the building with a thanks, as she went to find her friend Lukas.

Trees Aren't For Children Empty Re: Trees Aren't For Children

Lukas slept in VERY late this morning and had decided to eat something. As he opened his fridge, he saw that he had nothing but a bottle of saki he had stolen from the shop in town. He was broke. He knew he needed money but didn't want to do any work. With that he took the saki and went to the entertainment room to drink his sorrow away.

Lukas woke up on the roof of his apartment building with a massive headache. He had a hangover and felt like throwing up. He did throw up, he ran to the edge and puked. He walked down to his apartment and popped a pain killer. He then changed into his robe and went to the bathhouse. He had bathed well and put on his loosely tied robe once more. In the thought of money, he headed towards the mission board, still in his robe, hoping he wouldn't find anything.

As Risako ran from the mission board building, she would come to the realization that she didn't know where Lukas lived, nor that she informed him of her desire to socialize. He was the only friend she had that she didn't socialize with yet, and what was more enticing than cash? (Not jack-shit.) Anyway, now she needed to find Lukas, which might be a challenge as the village was a bustling mass of roads and streets, littered with civilians and ninja alike. Coming to the conclusion that finding him would be easier from a height, she darted toward the nearest window sill she could find.

The nearest one happened to be on the mission board building. She would start climbing by stepping on the window sill and pulling herself up, grabbing any hand hold she she could to move herself up. Upon reaching the second story, she would hang by one hand and scan the street for her friend, then she would continue climbing up for a better view of the surrounding area.

Trees Aren't For Children Empty Re: Trees Aren't For Children

Lukas was walking down the street towards the mission board building when he saw a strange girl climbing the building, this wasn't unusual for around here, but he still found it weird. He had shrugged it off and just entered the building. He saw the usual secretary sitting at her desk eating pork rinds. He approached the mission board and scanned the board for any interesting jobs. There were none, like usual, so he asked the secretary if there were any easy jobs she had. She told him there was a job about a kid stuck in a tree but the girl outside took it.

He exited the building with thanks to the secretary. The girl was still on the building when he got out so he looked up and yelled "Hey, I heard you got the tree thingy job and I wondered if you would like any help!" He said this with one hand blocking the sun and the other on his hip. He sat there waiting for a response.

Risako scanned the streets before hearing a voice, as she looked down she realized it was Lukas. At this point she was nimbly dropping and swinging her way down the building until she got about three meters from the ground, at which point she plunged down with an ungraceful thud. She was pretty pumped up for some damn reason, her hands moved with her words as she tried to express herself, "I didn't quite catch what you said," She would point to herself then Lukas, "but I was looking for you anyway," Then she point at the small slip of paper in her hand' "I just got this job let's go!" She would bound off toward the village gate, hoping Lukas would be in tow. At the rate she was going, she would've made it across the village in two minutes flat.

The strange girl began climbing down and Lukas realized it was Risako. She spoke so fast he had no time to react. As she was running away, Lukas yelled "Wait! I can't do a mission in a robe!"
"I guess I'll be doing the mission like this.",Lukas thought to himself. With that he tightened his robe and began to run after Risako. He was very far behind being that he is much slower, but he still kept her in sight.

Risako slowed down a bit, remaining in shouting range. She would look back over her shoulder, not a wise thing to do while running, and yell out "You're a ninja, get over it!" After the words escaped her mouth, she would slam into an large rough looking old man. Her words would seem slightly ironic, as she was a ninja and she should have been wathing where she was going. The impact threw her to the ground, but she would save it ever so slightly by tucking into a roll and landing in a crouched position. Looking up toward the man with an shy smile, she would mutter "Sorry" before springing to her feet to regather her momentum. By this point, Lukas could have closed the distance a bit, she didn't get very far.

Risako had turned back and said something about him being a ninja. He didn't hear her well being that she was so far ahead, he didn't think it was too important so he left it be.As Lukas looked back up he witnessed Risako slamming into an old man, at the sight Lukas began to run as fast as he could towards her to see if she were ok. She had recovered herself smoothly and he then began to slow down, slightly because he was out of breath, but mainly because she was obviously fine.

As he approached he said "Are you ok sir?, I'm sorry about my friend." With that he turned to her and said "I thought ninja had good reflexes."

(YOU'VE RETURNED!)

Risako turned to Lukas, as shots had definitely been fired. She would let him have this round, but any further slip ups would require punishment of somesort. Looking toward her partner, she would say "Yea yea yea... let's go." The girl would then take off again toward the village gates. After arriving, she would look up at the boy stuck in the tree, snickering. A boy in a village full of ninja couldn't even make his way down the trunk of a tree, pathetic.

She was being paid to save the boy, so she might as well get paid to harass him too. Looking up, she aimed to rustle his jimmies. "Hey kid! How long are you gonna stay up there?" Focusing her chakra, she would begin to ascend the tree one foot at a time.

Lukas once again apologized for Risako to the man and took off after her. As they arrived he thought to himself, "How in the hell did this kid get up there in the first place?" He then realized Risako was already making her way up the tree. He then walked towards the tree and do the same. He hadn't had much practice with surface walking and hoped he wouldn't fall.

Lukas focused his chakra in his feet and began the climb. He was maybe eight meters up the tree when he looked up and Risako's butt was in his face. He lost all focus and dropped like a sack of potatoes on his back.
