What happened? (Mission) Empty What happened? (Mission)

Mon Aug 19, 2013 2:43 pm
Spoiler:

Haru groaned as his alarm rang. He had been oblivious at the time to just how early they would have to wake up this morning. He punched the alarm clock, turning it off, and roll lazily out of bed. Timber would look up, panting excitedly. He pet the dog’s head, sighing, as he pulled himself to his feet from the floor of their hotel room. Rubbing his eyes, ha pulled something to eat from the fridge, eating as he searched the room for his clothes. Once he was dressed, he would put on his equipment, walking out of the hotel and back to the ANBU training area, where they were told to meet. It was then that he noticed a note pinned to his door. He tore it off the door, reading through it quickly. A change of plans had been made, and they were to meet at the gates. The three of them, Him, Rin, and Takeo, were assigned a mission… and an S ranked one, at that. Haru’s first S rank mission, ever. This was exiting. He headed to the gates, never actually touching the ground. He simply jumped off the catwalk that his hotel room’s door was connected to. He then continued running across the walls of the buildings, jumping from side to side of the street like a madman, springing his steps over each window as he passed it so as not to break the glass. He hurled himself off the wall, landing just a few meters from the gates, cracking the sidewalk a little.
”Ooh… Whoops.” He would say, standing up quickly, walking towards one of the buildings, and leaning back against a wall, waiting for Rin and Takeo to arrive. Once they were there, he would stand up straight, gesturing for them to head out the gates. He would activate his Byakugan. ”Umm… I got nothing... I mean, I can see a lot of chakra signatures outside the gates but some of them are civilians, and some of them are our ninja. I can probably see them now, but I can’t exactly tell what we’re looking for…” He would say, looking over at Rin inquisitively. ”Do you see anything?” He would ask him. He didn’t know much about how Rin sensed things, but he was pretty sure it wasn’t with his eyes. Maybe he could see things he couldn’t. He would wait for Rin to answer, idly stepping through the gates. He continued to look through the plains for their target. Unless stopped, he would continue walking through the plains, looking for a sign of their targets.

What happened? (Mission) Empty Re: What happened? (Mission)

Mon Aug 19, 2013 5:32 pm
The last gust of night wind would fondle the leaves and the dawn would break, making the world sigh satisfaction as gentle rays of light would lay its love on the trees and everything living. Nocturnal predators would hide and early journey seekers of the nature would emerge from their nightly shelters. And the young Senju would emerge from the shower. It was an early early morning to some, to others it was just fine, 5 AM in other words. Rin would close the doors behind him and step into the hall, while brushing his hair with a towel to get it dry. The young man would make his way to the kitchen and pour himself some tea. With the cup go back to the hall and into his room and occasionally letting a sip or two of the warm liquid go down his throat. Before entering the room he would stop as something was trying to get it. No, into the room.... well, yes into the room, but not through the door. In fact through a window in the room. And all this would be sensed by Rin through Kagura's. The thing attempting entry was a messenger bird, carrying orders from Yozora. Today their group would not gather at the training center, but actually do a mission. S ranked one. That was pretty exciting. Rin had no recollection of doing anything of that rank. Well, actually maybe he did once, he did not remember really. But he was pretty sure it was the first for Haru, the boy is probably jumping from excitement right now... no wait, he's sleeping because it's damn early, right. With similarly casual thoughts Rin would finish his hair, finish his tea, finish the letter, gear up and head out when it was morning enough. Or maybe when Haru would leave his residence, so Rin would not have to wait alone. He was sure it was a few hours later though.

Finding himself now at the gates, he would accompany Haru when Takeo arrived. Listening to what the Hyuuga said he would turn on Kagura's Eye as well as his other ability, lighting up his eyes blue. As the words were halted, his face would seem empty as his mind was elsewhere, blindly searching the wilds around them. After a moment or two, or maybe more, the targets would be spotted. They seemed to different from the village ninja really, except Rin could sense dark emotions coming from them. Guilt and others. He would gesture in that direction "This way, about five kilometers." Then they would start their crusade. Maybe some would choose some sort of tactic, maybe not. Rin would see once he got there and evaluated the environment.

What happened? (Mission) Empty Re: What happened? (Mission)

Tue Aug 20, 2013 4:22 am
Takeo awoke rather early. Which confused the boy, he never woke up earlier than at least 3PM. What brought this on he wondered? And so, as he went about his day to day business that was what he found himself wondering over. As he sat at a random table, which he wasn't even aware he owned, in his house he pondered it over. He frowned as he took a sip of tea and mulled it over. This really was a crisis. He felt like he was supposed to be doing something today. He just wasn't sure what, but he was pretty sure that it was something. It was then that an object slammed into his forehead. He was sent back reeling from his chair. Luckily Takeo is an incredibly skilled individual, and the tea was saved from any spillage. Rubbing his now bruised forehead he moved himself back to his feet. The object that had hit him seemed to be living. Upon closer inspection he found it to be a bird. The note attached to its leg saved it from being Takeo's dinner. Reading through the note he frowned. Apparently he was doing a mission with some people. He wasn't really sure why. But the names on the list did seem somehow familiar. Perhaps they were his team? No, he was sure their names began with a K...probably. Well, he guessed he'd just have to go and find out what was going on. So he got all the necessary equipment he needed, which was basically everything he owned, and headed out. As he walked he did have time to read through the letter a few times. Though he didn't really pay any attention to what was in the letter, he just kept reading the names over and over. He was positive these guys were not in his team. Maybe it had been changed around again? He'd just ask Den when he arrived.

Upon arrival at the gates he walked up to the two people standing there. He assumed that these were the two he was supposed to be with. "Where's Den?" He would ask upon arriving next to the two. Now that he looked over them did they seem to be kind of familiar. It was as he stared at them that it all came flooding back to him. The day before, these two people all of it. "Shit, wrong team. Ignore what I just said." Now he knew why he was actually here, this would go a lot more smoothly than he thought it would. So he was about to ask what they were going to do about this mission. But apparently these two were already a step ahead of him. And by some magic way or another Rin apparently already knew where the hell they were. Takeo frowned and just followed along quietly humming to himself. The sooner this ended the better.

What happened? (Mission) Empty Re: What happened? (Mission)

Haru would watch as Takeo arrived. It seemed he had no idea who they were for a moment, until the memory of yesterday’s events came back to him. He would shrug, turning to face Rin, who seemed to know where they were going. He would follow him, running through the plains behind him, until they came up on their target. A campsite, with around 10 tents all neatly set, and a large bonfire in the middle. The tents were all equidistant to the fire, with about 10 meters between them and it. There was one gap at the front of the campsite, about five meters long, to serve as an entryway. There were several people outside, walking around, and a few inside the tents. All of them were obviously not friendly citizens, or friendly ninja. They all carried weapons, and carried themselves in a very hostile way, as if daring anyone to approach. One tent in particular, directly across from the entrance, and larger then the rest, housed around five people, all gathered around a table.
”There.” He would say, pointing out the tent, mostly for Takeo’s benefit, since he wasn’t sure if he had a sensory technique like Rin and himself did. Sighing, Haru began walking towards the campsite. ”So… I guess I’ll be the distraction, then. You guys could flank around sneak in, grab the intel, and get out quick. Or you could just go in guns blazing like me. He would say, cracking his knuckles. ”Wait until they show some kind of hostility to attack.” He would whisper, beginning to walk to the entrance. As if on cue, a kunai stuck into the dirt, just a few inches from his foot. He stepped back quickly, ducking as another one flew towards his head. ”Well, I guess that’s our cue then. “ He would say, running towards them. As he ran, he would reach over his shoulder, grabbing a bone, and pulling it out, using it like a sword. One of the guards, the one who threw the kunai at him, moved to attack with a sword. Haru would block the strike, twisting to kick him in the side, sending him flying to the wall. Next came the other gate guard, who tried to run him through with a spear. He would lean back, dodging it, grabbing it as it passed over his head, and pulling it free from his grip. He would rebound off the ground, rolling backwards, and coming up with the spear, hitting his attacker over the head with it, and snapping it in two. He would walk further into the camp, trying to buy time should one of them try to flank.

What happened? (Mission) Empty Re: What happened? (Mission)

Tue Aug 20, 2013 3:14 pm
When Takeo joined them, he at first seemed totally confused, not recognizing them and asking for Den. Rin had no idea who the person, or whatever Den is, was. But then quite suddenly Takeo remembered and was all okay again. Feeling a bit relieved for the time, but at the same time a bit worried about Takeo's mental state, he continued on in the direction of the enemy. After a bit of walking they came close to their destination, which was a campsite, there were under 15 tents, all positioned in a circle with a fire in the middle. The circle had one gap, which served as an entry it seemed, although the tents were spaced out enough to have a whole caravan move through the gaps, which actually looked fairly dumb. It was guarded however, they must have thoughts they don't need to hide, or have better protection and could camp out here no problems, especially after stealing those documents from one of the greatest villages. Well, they thought wrong! No amount of manpower will help them now, that they have been found. From the chakra levels in the camp, Rin guess one of the three would be enough to clear it out, but he did not want to test it, better just wipe them out and be done with it. He would nod to Haru pointing out the main camp, inside which people have been gathering around a table. That seemed to be their target. Rin would listen to everything Haru would have to say. It seemed his former student would try to take on them head on. The Senju had to admit, that role might work with Haru's type. Takeo had similar style it seemed, well, maybe a bit different - reminded Rin of his own way of fighting back in his early Kirigakure days. So, he would leave the general combat to these two and deal the major damage to the whole camp. As soon as kunais began flying in their direction, Rin would perform the body flicker technique, with the hand seals formed in his mind, so not to waste any time or risk taking a hit. With that he would disappear in leaves and appear at right in front of the biggest tent. Before the guards at the tent could react to him, the snake hand seal would have been performed and massive yet fast roots would bind and strangle them to death. With a just killed guard falling in, Rin would enter the tent. There were some stuff on the corners of the tent, some chests with something, at the middle there was a table, on it a lamp, some documents, plans, maps. Around the table were four individuals. Two of them were disabled by the time the Senju entered, they were struggling with vines at their legs, well, Rin was only distracting them. The other two would unsheathe their weapons - both wielded two massive swords of No Dachi type. Their movements were dull compared to what Rin was used to - the way there were mirroring each others steps, and swinging in the mirror fashion suggested them trying a combo attack on him. Rin would only smile and not step out of their way. Instead he would raise his hands to meet the blades. And when the strikes were delivered, it seemed as if they could only penetrate his skin, which was actually not true. The techniques used was called Wood Lance and in order to defend against the attack Rin had grown a bark on his hands, both blades would now be stuck in it and their masters unable to pull them out. Using that opening Rin grew six thin and sharp branches shaped like spear that struck the bladers at the same time, piercing their hearts from three different directions. The wood lance would be undone and the blades together with their masters met the ground. In the next couple second the same fate was delivered to the other two who by now were completely bound by the vines. The one who brought death to this tent now stepped among the corpses, into the middle of the tent and retrieved all the documents and maps and everything he found to have any value. The significance could be confirmed later, once they brought this back. With that in mind Rin left the tent and as he did, he commanded the wood to consume it completely. Large roots would surround it and crash it down, crushing the structure and tearing the fabric to pieces. Similarly he would deal with all tents in the camp, leveling it in about the same time. Whoever was left alive would scatter and attempt to flee into a nearby forest. But Rin would not pursue them, well he would catch one or two with his vines, but he would not go after them himself. No, he would leave that honor to his teammates and wait them at the entrance to the ruined camp once they were done. As he waited, he walked to the center of the camp and put out the fire by kicking dirt on it. Once the others were finished, Rin would tell them they will look at the retrieved data once back and start heading to the ANBU center.

What happened? (Mission) Empty Re: What happened? (Mission)

Tue Aug 20, 2013 4:54 pm
As they walked Takeo mulled over a plan. He supposed sneaking in would probably be the best way. No unnecessary casualties and it would be over much quicker. The walk was another boring one. Why is it that when he was with these guys he always ended up walking for way longer than he was used to. Deciding not to voice his complaints, because it would most likely cause either one of them to burst into a fit of bitching about something or another, he just silently carried on after the two of them. After what felt like eons, but was more likely to be a couple of minutes, they approached a camp. He was about to voice how they could just wait and he'd sneak in. But nope, Haru wanted to just attack. Now Takeo wasn't sure that this is exactly what an Anbu was supposed to do. Weren't they all about be sneaky and shit? Actually..wasn't that what a ninja was supposed to do in general? Whatever he can do what he wants. He wasn't even sure why the boy bothered to whisper, it's not like it would make any difference given the approach he was going for. Takeo was about to turn to Rin to see what he was doing. Unfortunately the Chuunin had already disappeared. Takeo refrained from having his palm have a nice meeting with his face due to the fact he needed to dodge the kunai. As he danced around he wondered why these missing-nin didn't get a better hiding place. He wondered briefly if these guys were actually the ones they were after. And not like a random group of travellers. But then again why would they be throwing kunai at them? Whatever, he'd just go with it for now. Proceeding across the field he entered into the camp still weaving his way around the kunai. Assuming that Rin was the one who was going to be getting the documents or whatever he just moved over to the edge of the camps. He decided to just engage in a sort of half asses lazy sort of fight with one of the men. As he ducked and leaned to avoid the slashes sent by the sword the man wielded he thought. Were all of the people here actually missing-nin? From what he had seen so far there didn't seem to be any sort of children here. Though that didn't mean there were not. The sting of the blade nicking his arm made him focus on what he was supposed to be doing.

He stepped forward, right arm thrusting forward to smack the man across the cheek with his palm. Nothing more than a slap really. Takeo wasn't entirely sure what he was supposed to do with these guys. He really wished he had paid attention to what was in that damn letter now. A frown came upon his face and he sighed ducking under the blade. He supposed he'd just disable the guy for not. Not literally disable mind you, that would just be cruel. And that wasn't how Takeo rolled, unlike the insane serial killers behind him. He stepped back, shifting his weight onto his right leg so he didn't fall over like an ass. With that done his left leg shot upwards, his foot raising high up above the guys head. The fool then stepped in, thinking Takeo had missed. Unluckily for him Takeo didn't miss when he brought his foot back down. The heel of his foot smacked across the top of the man's head. The force sending the guy collapsing to the floor his face hitting the floor with a nice thud. Deciding that that was in fact sufficient enough to deal with the man. He turned back to notice that Rin was just messing everything up..and well Haru was doing something. Takeo wasn't quite sure. What confused him is that Rin then went about and began to attack the fleeing ones. Takeo didn't like that..not one bit. Apparently he didn't remember the part where they were supposed to kill everyone within the camp. He didn't care however. Turning to crouch next to the man that he had knocked out he looked him over. Turning the man's head over for a moment he simply punched the downed man in the face. Not that he could do anything about it mind you, nothing but groan in his unconscious state. Turning the man's head back so it was against the ground he let the blood from the man's nose spread. Seeing how this isn't real life the blood pooled in such a way it looked like he was dead from a wound to the head, because fuck logic this is naruto.

So with his job technically done he walked out from the camp. Meeting up with Rin as he also presumably exited. The Chuunin mentioned something about looking at the documents once they got back. Takeo didn't say anything in return, but he was sure that wasn't allowed. He didn't bother to voice his concerns, if Rin got into shit for reading it then that was his fault. Takeo instead just simply walked back towards Tenkage, not bothering to wait for either of the two. This mission had irritated him, and all he wanted to do was just have a nap.

What happened? (Mission) Empty Re: What happened? (Mission)

Tue Aug 20, 2013 5:36 pm
As Haru continued the attack, he noticed Rin and Takeo were now attacking. Irritatingly, a man jumped onto his back as he dueled a man armed with a sword, putting a knife to his neck. Haru hurled the bone he had been using as a sword at the man, spearing him through the heart, as he dropped back onto him, wrenching the knife from his grip, and tossing it away. He turned on that man, kicking him in the ribs, hopefully stunning him. Or, well… It seemed he kicked a little too hard. His ribs were now sticking out through his stomach… Sighing, Haru would put the man out of his misery, snapping his neck. Just as he began to do that, a woman hurled a spear at him, pinning his arm to the ground, thankfully only sticking through his clothes. The woman was presumably the wife man he’d just killed… Well, missing ninja were missing ninja, no matter how you slice it. The woman jumped at him, knife in hand, attempting to stab him, using her momentum to put extra force behind the blade. Haru would roll out of the way, pulling off one of the dead man’s ribs as he did so, and thrusting it into the back of her neck. She was dead before she hit the ground. Poetic irony, it seemed, that the woman was killed avenging her husband, BY her husband.  Haru stood up quickly, going to rejoin the fray.  Flicking his wrists, he deployed his hidden blades, dodging the strike of a man wielding an axe, weaving through a swordsman’s slices, and thrusting both of his arms out at the same time, impaling both of them through the head. Both of them fell, dead, to the ground. Next, he ran at a crowd of five men charging at him, weapons drawn. Using his top speed, Haru drew his sword, ready to begin slicing through their ranks. He hurled himself at them, kicking off the leader, and propelling himself into the air above them. He brought down the sword on the head of the man in the middle, pulling it free, and jumping off him to ground level. He thrust the sword through the next man’s chest, kicking off him to use the momentum for one wide slice. Haru sheathed the sword casually, as the men around him all fell dead.

After all was said and done, Haru followed Rin and Takeo out of the camp, yawning as they neared the gates. He followed silently, his mind back on sleep. He really just needed a few more hours of rest before he could… wake up. He still felt half asleep. He followed Rin to the ANBU headquarters, turning in the intel, and headed back to his hotel room for some much needed rest.
