Her First A-rank Mission (Private Nkill) Empty Her First A-rank Mission (Private Nkill)

Fri Aug 17, 2012 2:57 pm
Akina waited at the village gate for one of her friends. She had been charged to do a mission, and since her first mission had gone well, she had decided to look to Navi again for support. She had hoped he wouldn't mind. The Hyuga girl had brought more obento this time as well, though her aunt had teased her harshly for making it. She looked out on the road and tapped her foot impatiently. She had heard that some cargo had been intercepted by bandits, and it was the Konoha shinobi's duty to retrieve it.

There was a nice feeling to the morning. It wasn't too muggy or too windy. The sun was warming the land nicely. The Hyuga girl found herself being excited and less nervous than before.

Navi had become a very talented shinobi since Akina last saw him, and it showed. He had many weapons and tool in his pouches and a second sword strapped to his back. He was also promoted to Chuunin and there was word in the leaf hierarchy of promoting him to Anbu.

Navi yawned as he walked to Akina. He would seem like the exact same person as before, happy to help out Akina with her mission. "So what are we doing today Akina?" he asked with a smile.

Akina turned and noticed that Navi had come like she had
hoped he would. She smiled broadly when
she took in his figure. It was very
clear that he had been working out. She
bit her lip somewhat nervously, because she was moving at a slower pace than she
had anticipated, but she had to remember that everyone lived on a different
path and those paths rarely matched up perfectly. She heard him speak, and her body moved into
a polite bow. “It is an honor,
Navi-senpai. I made us lunch. Right now, I have been charged with finding
cargo that got intercepted by a bunch of bandits.” Her voice was confident, but her body shook a
little.

The thought of killing someone really upset her, but if it
was a necessary part of this mission, then she would not hesitate. The girl nodded slowly to herself and began
walking out of town. She could partially
use Byakugan to sense them out, or they could ask around and see if the
townspeople traveling had heard or seen anything. It was worth a try, either
way. “How would you suggest we find
them, Navi-senpai?” Her voice was quieter as she looked for some type of sign
to suggest where the bandits had gone.

Navi listened carefully to Akina as she described the mission to him. When she finished Akina asked him a question. “How would you suggest we find them, Navi-senpai?” Her voice was quieter as she looked for some type of sign to suggest where the bandits had gone. Navi also noticed that Akina seemed to tremble slightly. Was it the pressure of the mission, or had something happened? Navi decided against bringing it up.

"Well you said some bandits stole a caravan loaded with cargo right?" Navi decided to point out the obvious answer. "They have to be on the road out of the leaf village then. A caravan like that can't travel through forested terrain. I'm sure if we head out now we'd catch up to them pretty soon." Navi smiled as he said this, trying not to seem particularly smart or superior. Akina had called him for help, not to hold her hand. This was a mission they would do together, and Navi knew that Akina would do her part.

"I'm ready to leave when you are!" Navi said, beginning to walk for the village gate.

Akina nodded slightly, taking note of the cart marks in the
ground. “I think you were right, but
just to be sure, I’m checking the trees really quickly.” She smiled slowly. “We move forward, but take caution. I don’t know much about the bandits, but we
want to be careful.” The glint in her
eye said that she was determined.
Something within her said they would be seeing a couple of the bandits
soon. If they were smart, they would
have probably left people behind to ensure they could get away. The girl kept her ears open toward the trees
and the road. She slowly began to
concentrate her eyes on the trees and the path they were on. She was almost certain she had seen movement
from the sides of them and ahead of them.
“One…two…three…four…” she whispered to herself before turning to Navi.

“I think there’s at least…some complications.” She had said
this normally and walked naturally as though nothing was wrong. When she looked at Navi, she smiled and gave
him a cheerful peace sign while cocking her head to the trees behind her. The girl’s eyes, however, were deadly
serious. She had hoped he was good
enough to pick up on her meaning. “Tress
are so pretty, right? Don’t you just
want to climb them some days?” she laughed lightly, but the seriousness never
left her eyes.

Navi was walking side by side with Akina when he suddenly noticed it. Three...no....Four of them. Without performing a handsign Navi focused a jutsu creating a crow clone deep within the trees and behind the bandits. “I think there’s at least…some complications.” She had said this normally and walked naturally as though nothing was wrong. When she looked at Navi, she smiled and gave him a cheerful peace sign while cocking her head to the trees behind her. The girl’s eyes, however, were deadly serious. She had hoped he was good enough to pick up on her meaning. “Tress are so pretty, right? Don’t you just want to climb them some days?” she laughed lightly, but the seriousness never left her eyes.

Navi instantly picked up her meaning without even a slip in the conversation. "All the time" Navi smiled back, "Although I'm always wary of the crows that try and slip behind me." That was the cue, Navi's crow-clone must have killed one of the bandits because a loud scream came from the trees. The other three bandits fearfully jumped out of the tree and into the clearing. They drew there weapons and charged Navi and Akina, scared of what was behind them and decided to attack before asking questions. Navi drew his ninjato in response preparing to clash with the three of them.

Her First A-rank Mission (Private Nkill) Empty Re: Her First A-rank Mission (Private Nkill)

They were surrounded now, since three startled bandits
jumped out of the trees. A fourth
thudded hollowly to the ground. The
Hyuga girl had guessed this would have happened when Navi had finished
speaking. If they weren’t facing three,
and if Akina had been more confident in her speed, she would have left those
three to the more than capable Navi. The
silver-eyed girl was very impressed at how far he had come since when they had
first met. She quickly concentrated her
chakra to her palms and rushed at the man on the farthest left side. She noted that he looked so terrified that he
would be more likely to run away than he would be to withstand a fight. Her fingertips touched the man’s chest
lightly. It was by no means enough to
shut off his chakra point, but it was enough to make his trembling body
collapse to the ground. The other two
guys stared at her open mouthed. It was
probably their mistake, but in any case, she nodded to Navi and dashed onward
toward where she thought she saw a lone figure in front of her.

She heard someone yelling and spewing out a few curses. As the girl got closer to the shouting, she
saw a figure standing next to a puddle that had a cart stuck in it. Akina had softened her footsteps, but a smirk
came across her lips as the figure kicked the wheel and started hopping on one
foot, all the while he was cursing his luck.
“…At this rate, they’ll…” he said slightly loud. The Hyuga girl hid behind a tree, waiting for
Navi. It was pointless for a ninja to
attack a seemingly lone bandit on his or her own. She was very carefully analyzing her
situation, deciding when to strike.

Akina left the other two bandits to Navi. With almost no effort at all, Navi attacked. In a flicker of movement he stabbed both of them in the chest with kunai knives and flung them to the ground. Both of them coughed up blood and clutched there wounds, yelling out repeatedly. Navi was significantly more brutal then Akina, and it showed in their combat styles. The bandits wouldn't be getting up any time soon. Navi followed Akina as she ran down the path. He hid in a tree next to the one Akina was behind and waited.

“…At this rate, they’ll…” he said slightly loud. Akina stayed hidden and Navi followed suit. Navi held one of the bloody kunai knives he had just used close to his chest and prepared to strike. He looked over at Akina and nodded, signalling that when she was ready to strike, he would cover her.

Her First A-rank Mission (Private Nkill) Empty Re: Her First A-rank Mission (Private Nkill)

Wed Aug 22, 2012 12:48 am
The wind rushed through the leaves of the trees, causing the
man to flinch nervously. He turned to
face the bushes right when Navi signaled that he would be ready to strike. Akina’s heart pounded in her chest when the
thief started to come closer to her and her comrade. He stopped as a rabbit came out of the brush
next to the bushes. Akina stifled a sigh as the man walked back to the stolen
cargo. The girl breathed out quietly and
inhaled slowly as she nodded once to Navi.
Silvery eyes glistened with a serious demeanor. It was now the time to act.

Her feet stepped lightly over the tree roots that littered
her hiding place. She measured her steps
and counted her breaths. She prepared
her chakra flow to her hands. Her eyes
hardened further as her steps turned from walking to running. She let out a small howl as the man turned
around in surprise. Her fingers hit his
chest cavity lightly. It was enough to
stop him for a moment, allowing the girl to signal out her comrade for
reinforcement. She still had her fingers
poised at the man’s arms and kidneys if he dared try and move. “You’re coming with us…are there any others
with you?” Just as she spoke, two men
popped out of the trees, but they weren’t the small fries she’d dealt with
earlier. She knew she could trust Navi,
and for safe measure, she pushed her chakra infused fingers into the leader’s
arm and kidneys. He winced slightly,
looking more nervous. Other than that,
the two men were closing in on her, and she wouldn’t have enough time to react
to their strength. Akina found herself
in a bind. It wasn’t an A rank mission
for walking a dog, after all.

“You’re coming with us…are there any others with you?” Just as she spoke, two men popped out of the trees, but they weren’t the small fries she’d dealt with earlier. Navi burst from the trees and slammed his shoulder to the first of the two, causing him to topple over and land on the other one like a domino effect. Navi punched them both as they lay on the ground, hitting them hard in the face. The blows knocked each of them unconscious.

Akina seemed to have successfully taken the leader hostage, and now with both of his goons down, she didn't need to worry about any distractions. The oher two body guard type foes were indeed stronger, but compared to Navi's strength and speed they still were just petty annoyances.

Navi drew a kunai knife in case any other bandits might show themselves and attack. He would cover Akina in case anyone attacked, otherwise he would just watch what Akina did with the leader she had captured.
