Airi was right in a way, when it came to fibbing. Who hasn’t told a story to confuse authorities? F*** the pigs was his motto. Perhaps it was her style that won her his praise? In the end of it all, good story telling along with near flawless facial cues really draws the line between authors and amateurs. He finishes his last bit of rice pudding, his eyes locking in with Airi’s.

The deets that were given sure sounded good. Freshly cooked meat with rice, simple yet filling. He was excited to do this, so much, Katsuragi even found himself stroking his bare chin with his free hand. He didnt mean to mimic the child, or even make fun of her, he just was soooo in to it.

His attention leered over to the direction of where Airi suggested. This time, it was a lone decent sized vendor stall. It was “L” shaped, with hardly any other vendor around him.

But it did indeed have a long line, extending outwards to the left of the vendor. The line was comprised of mixed sorts, both common and flamboyant. The jewels among the few hung loosely around their waist, ears, neck, amd even along their boots.

The vendor stall was also elevated somewhat, just enough that people under 6 feet couldnt see the bottom behind the vendor stall. The lone cook would make the food and take payments by himself; this was good, Katsuragi thought. He also noticed that each time he received payment, he would kneel down and would arise with empty hands. Was he stuffing all the ryo in his socks? He doubted it, not all the payments were soly bills. Which meant there had to be a cash box.

Among the thought process, he tuned back into Airi’s past mention of the cook giving a special, perhaps a discount? Provided the owner himself would come across something special. But due to the set up, the vendor taking orders, and with nothing behind him but a tall 4 meter grass hedge that lined the swidewalk roughtly half a meter behind him... Katsuragi favored his first thought. The question is however, would his partner be up to the task.

Deactivating his “Con Vision”, he would look back over to Airi. “Alright, so there are atleast two ways to do dis. There is a hedge behind him, and by the movements of the guy everytime he takes the payment, the dough must be in a lock box or sumthin behind the counter below. Real low... You can do something with that. Or! If you happen to find something special along the way towards the front of the line, well, that could work too.”

He eagerly waits to see which route the child would choose. It would not only grant him a meal he would much like to eat, like now, but would also reveal just how this cute little girl thinks.

While waiting, he would watch a common citizen toss away a cardboard box into the trash nearby, bearing the same symbol of that of the mark which they see.

Waiting to her from Ari, he spots a few guards patrolling the area. He found that strange, a settlement this size had the man power to have patrols. This sort of thing was of course common in major villages, minor ones too depending on the economy/military strength. But here, it was a bit odd. He quickly gauges Airi’s abilities once more. He knows she is capable, quick on her feet for sure. He also knows a bit about her past, but the rest was unknown. He reluctantly decides to put everything on hold, seeing how the group of guards decided to stay put in the food plaza. It seemed to have gathered quite a bit of attention. It was as if nobody had seen a shinobi before. Katsuragi grew iritated the note the flock of folk worshiped the few soldiers.

“It’s your lucky day”, Katsuragi said ashe motioned Airi to stay put.

“Next time, swindler. Something has come up. This was fun though, ill hit you up whenever...”, he said as he walked away from the scene. Katsuragi really needed to keep someone like her in mind. She had potential, maybe in a future job she could come in handy?

The petite girl had already started to pace forward, white teeth sinking into the flesh of her lower lip as she considered how best to hit the shopkeeper up for a free meal. The day’s activities were stretching her imagination in a way that she had never considered before. She needed to think about what would make a shopkeeper tick, what it was that drove him on and what he was looking for before coming up with a strategy on how to approach the encounter. She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she barely noticed her surroundings, barely noticed the guards standing around the plaza until her partner raised his hand gesturing her to stop.

Dark eyes blinked, glancing around the plaza before she spotted the danger that he’d noticed. It took all of her training not to react but instead to nonchalantly look around as if she were perusing the various stalls looking for something to eat. Taking a moment before shaking her head and spinning around on a heel, a typical teenager deciding not to spend the little spare money she had on food today.

“Later Con-man, thanks for the food. I’ll catch you around.”

Easy motions took the girl out of sight of the guards and of the stalls, her mind already shifting from the meal lost to the missions she still had to do that day. Maybe she could convince one of her friends to come to spend some time with her while she bounced around the city carrying messages. It was always less painful to do those missions with company.
