Kato walked about 10 meters behind the nobles as they walked the village borders, stopping every now and then to mumble amongst themselves, and then continue walking. Kato wondered what it was they were talking about when they stopped. Did they talk about how they didn't really understand what was going on in the world? How Ryo could not buy everything? How without Hanzo and Kato here today they would be as open for attack as a wounded deer being chased by ravenous wolves? He doubted it was any of that but he liked to think that maybe some of them had some sense of self awareness. But the way they had basically ignored Kato the entire time was more than enough for him to understand that they thought a Genin of his level was far below them. Even though, if he wanted, he COULD cut through them with relative ease.
Those thoughts were useless, and honestly, a bit dark. He was just bored and they had been going at it for a few hours now. When he had signed up for guard duty he had thought that maybe, just maybe, it would be a little exciting. Then when he found out that Hanzo would be along for the ride he was pumped that at least the two of them would be working together. But, they had been split up, with Hanzo at the front and Kato at the back. Kato had considered protesting because if anything he should have been at the front since, ya know, his Sharingan would be able to see things much better and with more time than Hanzo. But, they had only seen that Hanzo was built like a brick shit house and assumed he was the more capable of the two ninja.
In all fairness, not even Kato knew who was the better shinobi. He DID know that if Hanzo even glanced him with a blow it would break every bone in Kato's body. However, that was not something he had to worry about, Hanzo and Kato were as close to friends as he was going to get. He enjoyed his laid back personality and general sense of relaxation. He also felt like Hanzo really just looked at Kato as a regular person who was doing what he could to improve himself. It was nice.
Bandits had not been all too active as of late. More and more ninja were flocking to Tanbo for one reason or another. Kato was only one of the first to do it but it seemed like some new ninja came to the village every day. This, in turn, had resulted in them being able to patrol much more often and keep the bandits at bay. That did not mean they did not attack, however, which Kato had tried explaining to the nobles. They thought they wouldn't dare attack nobility but that was the dumbest possible thing he could have heard. If they were going to organize an attack it would be on a group of nobles, far from the village, protected by only two ninja. Both of whom were extremely green.
None the less they continued walking. Kato occasionally activating his Sharingan to see any changes in Chakra or if there was any weird movement. Mostly it was nothing but animals as they walked along the woods line. A break came in the form of the nobles wanting to rest for lunch which gave Kato an opportunity to approach Hanzo. Keeping his voice low so that they could not hear him he whispered over to Hanzo. "How much you think we could ransom this lot for?" He smirked to himself, obviously a joke, but wondering how much they could bring it. "Probably a lot more than the six thousand Ryo we are getting paid." He let out a grunt of a laugh and then pulled his Katana off his back so he could lean against a boulder, keeping his hand firmly on the pommel just in case he may have needed it.

Hanzo never complained when it came to performing duties for his fellow Tanbogakure citizens, but he didn't quite consider nobles to be members of his village. He couldn't relate to them, despite his great desire to be apart of their culture. It only took a few minutes of trying to engage with these high society types to help Hanzo realize that he just didn't fit into that world. Not to mention that they were rather disrespectful to him. They didn't see him as the dignified individual that he presented himself as. As far as he could tell, they looked at both himself and Kato as lesser. As tools. This didn't jive well with Hanzo. Not in the slightest bit. No, he didn't care if these pompous asshats lived or died, but that was the job he was paid to do.
There was a disparity in how Hanzo looked now compared to when he had first met Kato. It seemed that Hanzo had done a lot more physical labor between the time of their last meaning and now, since he was now just a muscle monster without any confusion what-so-ever. He was physically intimidating, this was true for the nobles at least. They didn't want to be too close to him, probably realizing that he could wring them out like freshly washed laundry if he had half the mind to do so. He still dressed the part as per usual, wearing what appeared to be armor from the land of iron, with a black bodysuit underneath. Despite that, he sported his cherry wood sandals on his feet. The armor on his massive frame only seemed to showcase him as being bigger than he already was.
He didn't bring a helmet this time, however. He went without the eyepatch now as well. For reasons that weren't entirely clear. This meant that both of his bright yellow eyes were on full display. He brought one of two warhammers with him, those big meaty fuckers, which he held in his left hand so that it rested on his left shoulder. "Bah!" He exclaimed in dismay, clearly agitated due to the length in which they had been with these Nobles. How the fuck were they qualified to do research on changing climate anyway? They were rich, not scientists. It was good that they stopped for a break, else the man might have lost all semblance of a cool and lashed out. Hanzo was often chill, but having to be around such arrogant fucks. Was this how he was like before?
Hearing the question posed to him from his close friend Kato, he'd look the men over for a moment. Not registering that his comrade was making a joke in the slightest. Likely due to the fact that Hanzo had already written off these nobles as being expendable. "! doubt their families have enough emotional availability ta even attempt ta pay for their kidnappees." He meant it too. Seeing as these folks were completely shallow, he couldn't help but come to the conclusion that their families must have followed suit in how they operated. Callous and uncaring for anything other than their prestige and their bottom-line. Such was the way of the world. He just didn't expect for a place as great as Tanbo to harbor such... personalities. "Not worth the effort, not worth the money."

Kato shrugged his shoulders and kicked at a rock at his feet and watched as it sailed into the tree line. "Probably right," Kato said lazily as he let out a sigh and then glanced back over at Hanzo noticing how much stronger he was getting. It did make Kato feel somewhat inferior as he wondered how much training he had been putting in. Kato looked down at his own muscles and gave a quick little flex, comparing the two. Kato was, of course, not even in the same realm when it came to muscle definition. "I mean what the hell man, how are you getting so big?" Kato scoffed at him and then leaned forward to get himself off of the rock he had propped against. He stood out in front of Hanzo with his hands on his hips, obviously he was not actually angry, he was just messing around with Hanzo to pass the time. "How much can you lift?" It was a super jock question to ask but Kato was curious none the less.
Suddenly, a noise distracted him, a rustling in the tree line. Quickly, he activated his Sharingan and scanned the area, but he sensed no chakra of note. Without thinking he quickly performed a set of hand seals to activate his Minus Field Technique. Boar, Tiger, Snake, Ox, Rat, and then he clapped his hands together and a field of chakra formed around himself and Hanzo that extended roughly five meters in all directions around the pair. The field would be centered around Kato and would follow him as he made his way to the disturbance. "Keep an eye on the nobles." He said to Hanzo as he approached the tree line.
He was, however, a bit impressed with himself. The moment he felt something was going wrong he shot into action and did not even mess up the hand seals. This was the first time he had responded to a potential dangerous situation and he was happy that he did not feel fear. No, in fact, he felt excited. He was ready to face whatever was coming his way. Slowly he approached the tree line and the rustling continued. Whoever was hiding in there was not doing a great job. Pulling his Katana out of his sheath he kept it at the ready. Inching slowly forward he prepared to use his Katana to attack whatever or whoever was hiding in the bushes. Nothing came out. Not wanting to give up the element of surprise he lurched forward and used his hand to move the brush out of the way.
"AHHHH WHAT THE HELL!?"
A foul stench filled his nostrils as he was sprayed by a skunk that quickly scurried away from him. He dropped his katana to the ground and covered his nose and stumbled backwards. "Did you see that?" Kato shouted at Hanzo as he gagged on the smell. He continued gagging as he stumbled back over to Hanzo. "Quick, do something, I dunno what but anything the smell is awful!" He went from feeling like a powerful hero ninja to a being ashamed and embarrassed in record time.
