Failing Forward

Having picked up wire from the training facility, Koutaku was practicing something new. Well, several somethings really. He'd been doing some reading in the family library under their house and in so doing he'd stumbled upon some old Iouchiryo practices and a technique that--while not a secret to those who did not know of the clan--was still likely created by members of his extended family.

So it was that he was focusing his chakra on his person while standing in the middle of a room stock still, and then throwing out spools of wire in a circular formation around himself, before promptly attempting to dash through them. Often, the wire would be violently repelled from his person, upsetting the technique, and ending in a horrid tangle, and other times he'd end up with shallows cuts while being annoyingly tangled in his own wire.

It was incredibly frustrating, but he was used to that. Honestly, he'd even tried it with his shadow clones, but they didn't have any more idea than he did and as a result, when he dispelled them he just ended up more annoyed than when he'd begun. Frankly, he needed a distraction, he needed someone else to spar or talk with, though he was loath to admit it. Nonetheless, not really feeling comfortable approaching someone else, Koutaku kept on with his drills, failing repeatedly as he did so.
