Four Featherless Bipeds (Saya)

Watching Ai think, Kikuko would splash around ever so slightly as she let the water soak into her skin. Ah, but this really was a luxury. Perhaps she should come here more often? While she was partial to letting herself learn from the experiences of nature, rather than manmade structures and training equipment, she found that those preconceptions might begin to come apart when faced with the temptations of a warm bath.


“Applying a seal to an item could work, but I have to admit I have my own little worries about that. Once you start doing that, things get more complicated. You have to worry about chakra supply, how much it needs to work, how networks can degrade over time without the eye of a specialist to make sure the matrixes still work. At the same time, I wouldn’t be opposed to just a bit of experimentation. I won’t say that I’m an expert by any means, but I think that I’m growing to the point where I’m comfortable beginning to foray into otherwise ‘unknown’ fields.”


Listening to Ai’s volunteering for testing, she would frown. The offer was earnest, no doubt, but at the same time she felt was somewhat misguided. “While I appreciate it Ai, I think that the best place to start matrixes tends to be what we’re taught to place them upon from the beginning- on paper. It’s much easier to throw an impromptu explosive tag away then pick up parts of a person who’s been scattered across the room. Even as a joke, it’s…” She shudders. “I’m not a worrier, but I’ve read the stories. It’s not a good idea to offer to be a test subject for fuinjutsu techniques so lightly, even if we can repair your body later.”

Seeing Saya drift back into consciousness again, she would note her standing before paying attention as she added her own opinions upon the nature of water and suiton itself. While she was never quite the philosophical type, at least in her own opinion, it was interesting to hear another person’s opinion upon the usage of chakras in the shinobi arts. Hearing her interpretation, too, sparked ideas in her mind. She spoke of details, of intricacy, of becoming one with the energy itself. “It sounds to me like it feels as though you’re on top of the world. It makes you feel bigger than you are.”

"Understood. Well that is a discussion to be had after the study and experimentation required to even determine if its possible, but honestly that would be a huge help to Aya if you found a way to make it happen. " She considered the rest of the statement for a moment before interjecting at the point when Kiku commented about her own fuinjutsu skills. "Hey now. You're worlds past what we understand of Fuinjutsu. Humility is (important) but recognizing your own skills is imperative. It is only because of a recognization of our own strength that my sister and I have been able to push the boundries of our ninjutsu to the level we have, and you haven't even seen the really cool stuff." Ai would mouth the word important to kiku, shielding her lips from Saya's gaze. She didn't want to directly suggest that her little sisters lack of humility was a detriment. It WAS and would inevitably lead to some bad times at some point, but that was a dance they would do when the time came.

"Please don't blow up my sister. I mean. Like. I can rebuild her or whatever and its not like high end luxury wood, faux skin, and all the other stuff 'really' costs that much but heck I would preffer her alive if that's an option..." While saya loved being able to create, she didn't much like the idea of the pain Ai would go through, or having to create the same thing a second time. It was too easy to reproduce something she'd already made. The skill comes in creating something new. She dipped her head under the water for a long moment, keeping her eyes open to glance about the hot springs. It was almost like the vision she'd gotten from kiku, except for the part where she could see most of her friend from under the water. Comparing the two experiences, Kiku's existence in her sight was an oddity that made mentally recreating the experience in this new environment a little more dificult, but then her mind shifted to being jealous of how cute her suit was, which shifted to just generally how much of a cutie her new friend was, which caused her to grin widely and consider how lucky she was to have so many friends when she'd spent so much of her life alone. Unfortunately the grin allowed water to flow into her mouth, and after a minute she surfaces coughing slightly.

"Yea. It's a really neat feeling. Knowing my body is capable of breaking the limits assumed possible. Great forests and rivers come at my call... Its something else." As Saya spoke, Ai pushed herself up to the edge of the springs with her hands.

"Speaking of being bigger then you are, Sister, I believe it's time we get to the empty lot where our home once stood. We can't live on the ship for the rest of our lives, and a new place won't build itself." With a pout saya followed. Testing the waters, she'd check for permission before leaping across the pool to give her new best friend a big hug, and wave goodbyes. They did have work to do.
