Hello, Friend (Max) - Page 2 Empty Re: Hello, Friend (Max)

Sun Apr 28, 2019 9:25 pm
The Lord would explain to Hato that first would be a village ordered training. He explained that even a field medic, like Hato, would need to defend herself. Otherwise, the medic wouldn't be able to heal everyone. However, the young woman already knew this. This was the reason for so many Tai Jutsu techniques. She wasn't a weak medical ninja, but she did like people thinking that while it lasted. It's always nice to be underestimated. It makes it things easy yet fun.

Max would then explain that first the genin would face off against each other. Showing there skills. Then after, the genin that make it would face off against higher ranks like chunin and jonin. Hato smirked a bit, "Well then, I guess it really is time I show you what I can do now." Then it was back to the questions. "And what if the missing ninja comes while we are training? We still don't know why they are targetting us completely. It's highly unlikely that we are being targeting randomly." Hato starts to remember about two years ago, "Two years ago, there was another group that was planning on destroying us. We talked about it in our academy days. They wanted revenge for various reasons. Perhaps it's for the same reason."

After business talk, Hato wanted to talk more personal with Max. After his response for her comment, she asks, "You're entire campaign has been to tear down tyranny and bring up hope. I will agree it's noble however I can't help but feel it's more personal." She looks gently into his eyes, hoping to aid in having him open up.

Hello, Friend (Max) - Page 2 Empty Re: Hello, Friend (Max)

Hato asked the question that weighed heavily on Max’s mind. What happens if they are attacked in the middle of their training? It was a valid question, one that Max pondered a great deal, but still he would reply with the only thing he could.

“If they attack during training, then we had less time than anticipated. Still, it would be us doing all we could with the time we are given. Those folks that haven’t seen any real combat will be placed in a life or death situation. I want all of you to be as prepared as possible.” Max would say as he looks down at the desk and the files piled around. So much to do, yet so little time. Still he would have to try his hardest to prepare his people for what he imagined would be their greatest test.

“They are probably targeting us to make an example of us to the rest of the lands. We have the largest, greatest empire the shinobi lands have seen. We conquered Suna without casualty. Our might was unmatched, yet this shinobi seems to want to show us all that we have grown weak.” Max of course wondered if they had in fact grown weaker. The village didn’t seem to stand as tall as it once did, many of its notable shinobi now gone. And Max knew that he didn’t command the same respect nor wield the same powers as either Mortarion or Maku. If they were around would any dare attack Kumo? Probably not, but they were no longer here, and Max had to make what he had work.

“Personal? Yes, one could say that it is indeed. Mortarion’s legacy was one of terror and destruction. I aim to remove that legacy from the history books. He has taken a great deal from not only me, but this world as a whole. I intend to take from him the only thing he has left to lose now that he is dead.” The boy’s eyes held a hatred for Mortarion, the man that ruined his beloved village and worse yet, took his mother’s life.

“You see, he will be forgotten. He won’t be immortalized from his atrocities. He will simply cease to exist, and the world will forget about him entirely.” Max would say, and he meant it. Each and every trace of the man would be cut away until nothing was left.

“It should be personal for all of us. He turned our homeland into… this,” the boy would say as he waves his hand to the window towards the rotting swamps and spiked citizens that dared disagree with the tyrant.

Hello, Friend (Max) - Page 2 Empty Re: Hello, Friend (Max)

Max's response satisfied her question about either there was someone lurking among them and displaying secrets. The Missing Ninja's could simply targeting their village due to the massive land they own. However, if there was an attack, Max didn't have a clear answer to.  The young lord explained that if there was to be an attack, they would just have to be ready. That statement is just common sense, so there was quite any plan involved. Max was right, most of them haven't been in a life or death situation. Hato hasn't been in one as a shinobi sense most of her problems were solved by becoming one. She has still yet to face another shinobi in a life or death situation.

Max brought up how the Kumo took over Suna without casuaties. Hato heard about the take over of Kumo during her academy days. She remembered hearing about how it only took the might of two men to take out the Kazekage and the village. One of the men was the previous Raikage, Maku. However, Maku seemed to have passed away so his power was unusable. Village takeovers also got her mind thinking of all the other territories Kumo has claimed. Hato had thought about Kumo using the vast land ownership to their advantage but hasn't thought of it much since. "Sensei, A question out the blue, what do we plan to do with the other lands? We own so much yet we only use the Land of Lightning as our battle grounds." Perhaps maybe the leaders haven't thought of using the other lands. It was kind of idiotic to not include them in some sort plan.

There was a personal reason for this campaign, Max explained. He said that the previous Raikage's legacy was nothing more than "terror and destruction". Taking away one's legacy is truly their second death. A goal of erasing history? Interesting way of handling the situation. Almost ironic. Hato knew the boy wasn't a perfect leader yet. She would've asked more about this way of erasing Mort, but it seemed like a sensitive subject for him and she didn't want to push it. It might have to be another topic for another time. The young lord continues as he states that we should all take this personally as this was our homeland. Hato smiled and nodded, like she agree with his idea. However, Hato really thought that Mort's idea wasn't all bad. Fear lead to control of the people. But Hato has been seeing something else to be true. Too much fear, and the people's will will bring the control down and they will lose power. Interesting.

"You're right. I don't remember much of the time before Mort's kageship. I was trainined and raised in the rotten village all my life. I'm excited to see what the village would look like after we rebuild." Hato smiled softly to the boy, "Which is all the more reason we have to protect it." She hoped he'd appreciated her admiration for the village. "The village represents the people..." Her speech slowed as if her mind was trailing off. She starts to think of Yoko, "We have to protect them."

Hello, Friend (Max) - Page 2 Empty Re: Hello, Friend (Max)

A question out of the blue, but one that was understandable. The nation hadn’t fully utilized all of the lands that it had possessed, but there was likely a good reason for that. “Under the threat of attack, we want to consolidate the best defense we can from here. Once the looming threat is in the past, we can look towards what the future holds for our lands.” The young lord hoped that this answer would suffice and slake the woman’s curiosity.

So Hato would also have difficulty recalling a time before The Rot Lord Mortarion had corrupted this land, something that wasn’t particularly hard to believe. “I also look forward to seeing this land rebuilt, so that the village can once again be proud of the land they call home.” There was a sadness in his tone, as he wonders if it will ever be the same. Even if he succeeds in his goals, would they last? And would the taint ever truly leave? It would take generations for the memory of the tyrant to be lost to time, those living through his reign slowly dwindling in numbers until he was forgotten entirely.

“Do not worry, Hato. We will protect the village as best we can. We have little other choice.” Max would say, looking down at the village once more. The people of Kumo looked to him to lead them to victory and towards salvation, yet he was but a child sitting on the "golden throne"… His experience was limited, and his track record already held a loss to the man with Kumo in his sights. This wasn’t going to be easy.

“Are there any other concerns or things you wished to talk about, Hato?” Max would ask, hoping to shift his mind from the terrible monster on its way.

Hello, Friend (Max) - Page 2 Empty Re: Hello, Friend (Max)

It seemed Max and Hato weren't going to talk about some strategy. However, she should've guessed as much because this wasn't a war council meeting. This was just a meeting between friends. The Kage would look out the window once more, peering down on the village the boy was now in charge. Max explained to Hato that he was excited for the renovations for the new land they were going to form. Hato agreed, change was perfect for Hato as it was the perfect molding clay for a new era. What the new era could hold was up to the people that want the most change.

Max would then explain that they would defend the village. Hato smiled and nodded. She was going to defend this nation, you can't rule anything if there is nothing to rule over. Besides, she wasn't about to get taken over that easily. She still had some pride under the sexiness and the smarts.

Finally, the young lord asked if there was anything else they wanted to talk about. She would've continued, but they would be there all night and Max was still busy. "I think that will be all." She rises out the chair and heads for the door. "I'll be seeing you at those tests. Maybe next time we meet up, we go to a restaurant or a bar." Hato looks around the kage office and smiles, then she looks back at him. "Till next time." She says sweetly and blows a platonic kiss at the Kage before exiting the room and leaving him to his own work.
