Shinoskay had been in the forest, some 200 meters from the group and halfway from the village to the borders, as they passed through it to the country border. He would have entirely missed them if it wasnt for that the guy they were escorting was a bit of a chatter box... that guy talked the whole way passed the white masked genin, not even to anyone, just went on and on. It shoo'ed off the animals and the quiet from that direction is what he caught more then anything... 650 feet was enough, in a forest at least, for most skilled shinobi to catch the sound of a talkative individual as the sound echoed across the trees but it was the regular sounds of the wildlife, muted, that the boy caught first. He had trained himself to this tell, it nearly always happened, and even when people passed through the forest with stealth it was almost always going to alert the animals in the area around the person, by tracking that silence, like a traveling fog or miasma, one could keep tabs on where people in the forest are simply by that alone.
When he heard that silence making a pass through the roads from konoha, he chose to investigate. Not even 50 meters in, he began to hear the man under escort in his dialogue. 'plates? soup? what?' The boys footfalls would turn dead silent and he would focus his movement on stealth.
Another 50 meters in, now starting to crouch lower, he could start seeing glimpses of the crew of individuals escorting the self important individual. The senior genin knew two of the three escorts and one of them caused him to feel concern, he recalled when nekrun had tried to sneak out of the village last month, it made no sense the boy was outside of the village now but that didnt matter much since here he was. Deciding it would probably be best to keep an eye on Nekrun, regardless of whether he was out on legit reasons or not, Shinoskay would watch and see what they do. Anyways, the Chuunin's was coming up and at least the two he knew had signed up... he didnt want to see either end up getting ambushed by another villages nin who decide itd be a good idea to thin the competition on their way in.
After tracking their path, he already knew where the trail went but he wanted to make sure they were actually following it so he waited as they passed 100 meters before he then, 150 meters back, would first form the hand seals to change his chakra signature and lower it to 5, then the hand seals for two rock clones, before then having one slip into the earth (calling him tab) while the other would use transformation technique to make itself look like a generic female with a black pixie cut, the konoha head band, all three weapon pouches and the tanto, forest camo colored and tight fitting clothin (a camisole, combat shorts, and combat boots... calling her shiva).
Tab would make his way, first diagonally down and forward towards the traveling crew to put himself 40 meters directly below them.
Shiva would continue to follow at 150 meters back, through the forest, with her own foot fall silent. She, of course, was careful to keep an eye out around her even as she kept an eye on the direction of the boys and their travel. Thankfully, because they used the normal path, it wasnt hard to largely use that to keep tabs on where they were even as they frequently were blocked from sight by the dense forest of tree's.
While Shinoskay himself would circle around to put himself on the opposite side of the boys... His own chakra suppressed after having used Rock Clone, he would stay about 200 meters back, 130 meters from shiva, trusting his clones to keep track of the boys as he tailed behind them and so he himself would keep an eye on Shiva, being able to spot her because he could track her from where she started.
The idea was if the boys suddenly veered off, there was at least 2 or three ways to determine which way they went and a rough idea of when they would.
When the boys encountered the missing ninja, Shiva signaled for shinoskay to stop and so the two would. Shiva could see the boy's but not why they stopped while shinoskay couldn't see anything, Tab could sense the missing ninja through the seismic vibrations but, naturally, he did not know who they were... just that they held a very well crafted katana as well as the rest of their weapons through the same.

Unless aggressed upon, unless someone tries to flee the country, or unless someone Tadashi, Nekrun, or fuyo dies... Shinoskay largely just intends to watch...
