A sad start to a happy ending Empty A sad start to a happy ending

Tue Jan 02, 2018 11:28 pm
The sun was high in the sky and their was a nice breeze blowing on a beautiful day in the village hidden in the stars. The people was running around doing their daily routines of selling and buying. The kids was running threw the village with out a care in the world as the knew that the shinobi that was still new to the village was their to protect them, and that they had nothing to worry about. Their parents might feel differently from house to house, but the kids had saw how the shinobi was and knew. They had not yet been fed the fear and lies that was told about the kind of people that call their self's shinobi. Cole still lived with his parents in their house just a few blocks from the market area. It was called the residential area of the village, and it took up most of the village's outer edge of the wall to the west. The richer you was the closer you was and the further you was from the wall. Cole's house was right in the center. His father was a jounin for the village hidden in the star, and cole was wanting to surpass his father at some point. His mother was a nurse at the local hospital, and worked in the ER. She had to deal with a lot of the dangers people that would come into the hospital. Weather they be people from the village or people that shinobi brought to the hospital before they questioned them.

Cole was at home alone for the day his father had been sent out on a mission. Cole didn't know the details of the mission but it was a high ranking mission and it had to deal with some cult called the Jaws of Grima. Cole's mother was working at the hospital that day, and it was a busy day from what cole was told when he stopped in to see his mom earlier that day. He was sitting on the couch when he heard a knock on the door. Cole got up leaving his cloak on the back of the couch as he walked across the room. He reached up and opened the wooden door to his house. Standing on the other side of the door was a man. He wore a jounin flake jacket with a hoshi headband on his forehead. He had dark brown hair and stood a full foot and a half over cole. The man spoke with a deep voice that matched the sear muscle the man was sporting. “Son you need to come with me” he would tell cole. Not knowing what was going on cole tole him one second and walked over grabbing his grayish white cloak and throwing it over him. He then walked over and slid his boots on before walking out the door and locking it. He then slid the key to the door in his right belt pouch. Cole then followed the man not knowing were he was going he figured that someone had a mission for him to do and that was what was going on. The man then spoke once more “you hungry kid”. Cole didn't know if it was some kind of test so he figured he answer truthfully. “Yea I could eat” cole would tell the man. The man gave cole a nod and they turned on the next street.

The man lead cole to a burger shack and ordered two double bacon cheese burgers with fries and drinks. Cole expected the man to say something but he didn't and they both sat their waiting on the food in silence. When the food got their the man just started to eat a little, so cole joined in and eat his food. Again cole was expecting him to say something as to what this was all about, but he didn't say a thing. They both finished their food and when the man got up to throw his trash away cole followed. The rest of the trip the man didn't say anything, and at this point cole was starting to get worried. He didn't know if this was some top secret mission that he was about to get or what. It was after the third block that cole realized were they was going. The man was taking cole to the hospital. Cole started to think and imagine all the terrible things that could have happened. Did his father get hurt on his mission, and was this guy their. Did his mom get attacked at the hospital. Every thing he could think of went through his head. He could feel the tears starting to build up, but he was a ninja he couldn't cry in public. It would show his weakness and in the life he was apart of now you couldn't let anyone know your weaknesses.

Cole tortured himself the hole way to the hospital all the way up to the door and threw it. At this point he could throw up and cry at the same time. He didn't even know what he was doing here, but his hands wouldn't stop shaking and he was cold. Then he saw some nurses bring a ninja he had saw before on a stretcher threw the back. He was only able to see the face of the man as they rolled him by the door in the back ground but it was enough for cole to make out who it was. It was a friend of his dads that would go on missions a lot together. Seeing that cole couldn't hold it back no more a few tears slid down his face, and he hung his head low to let his hair fall down in front of it to hide them. The man lead cole up to one of the mission briefing officers that cole had met a few times when he had gotten missions. The man gave cole a hug and held him tight cole fought it at first, but after a second gave in and hug the man back holding him tight against his chest. The man pulled away and was down on one knee to look cole in the eyes. The man had been crying his eyes red shot and still had liquid running down the side of his face. He stared at cole for a moment that seamed like it lasted for an eternity before he spoke.

His voice was broken up and the man would take a break after a few words. “Son … I'm sorry to be the one to tell you … But your father was killed on mission” with that he would rise up from his knee. He would turn and walk away stopping before walking threw the door. “I know this is probably the worse day of your life kid but theirs more you need to know come with me” he would add. He would hold the door and wait for cole to walk up giving him a little time. Cole didn't know what to say the news hit him like a ton of bricks, and cole hit the ground. His legs not working and he couldn't lift himself up off the ground. He laid their for a few minutes unable to move. Then the man offered cole a hand and helped him to the door. Cole sluggishly walked over to the door with the mans help. The man lead him to a room and shut the door. He let cole sat on the bed tears now free falling. Cole couldn't help but think of all the time that he had spent with his dad and all the things that he wished that he could have said to him. He thought about how his father wouldn't be their when he made it to the next level. He wanted this to be a bad dream, but deep down he knew that no matter how bad he wanted it. This couldn't be changed and their was nothing that he could do about.

“I know this is hard for you right now, and im going to let you know a few things, and they only reason why im letting you know this is because you are a genin, and I think you will make it to chuunin at the exam.” The man said before taking a pause. Cole looked up at the man his cloak soaked in tears and their was stains on his pants from were he was letting the tears fall wear ever they fell at this point. “You father was on a mission to attack a outpost of the jaws of Grima with two others. Both of them are not looking good either.” He would take another pause before continuing. “we was able to recover one of the members of the cult, but they was injured badly. We needed the info that they might have had to find the rest of the members and stop this from happening again. You mother was the nurse that was treating the man” at this point coles heart nearly fell from his chest. He knew what the man was going to say next, and he didn't want to hear it. However he knew that he must hear it at the same time. “The man regained conciseness and attacked taking your mother hostage. We tried to save her but the man slit her throat before jumping out a window not seeing a way to escape he killed himself to keep us from finding they others.” the man stopped once more to wipe a tear from his own eye. Cole was to far gone for their to be any hope in it. “If there is anything that I can do to help with this let me know kid” he would say as he got up and walked over to the door. “You can stay in this room as long as you want” he added before walking out. Leaving cole to cry alone in the room.

Cole laid down on the table bed pulling his knees up to his chest and wrapping his arms around them. His hair fell to the ground and he cried till he fell asleep. It was a few hours later that cole woke up. He got up and looked at himself in the mirror he looked like shit. The trible marking smearing over his body. He took his cloak and wiped at his face till the blueish green was all gone. He then threw the cloak away in the trash can. It was destroyed at this point and he didn't want anything to do with it anymore. His life was over it would never be the way it was before, and he would have to find a way to live. He knew what he wanted and he knew what he had to do. He couldn't let the people get away with this and he would find and kill them all.

Cole walked out of the hospital shirtless and with the scar he had gotten as a child on his cheek in full view. He had always kept it hidden before, but after to day that was the lest of his worries now, and it didn't even cross his mind about it. Cole walked back to his house and unlocked the door he then walked into the house, and all he could see was memories of his family threw out the hole house. He walked up the stairs and into his bedroom. Their he grabbed his ninja gear and his brand new katana that he put on his back. Cole then walked down the street to the village gate were the chuunin that was normally on guard duty came out and asked him what he was doing. Cole just tole him he was headed outside the walls for some training that he didn't want others to see in preparation for the chuunin exams. Cole looking very serious the hole time the man must of thought that cole was being real and let him through. In part it was true this would be the training of his life he would push his self to new heights if it killed him, but he wouldn't let it till he killed a few people first. However he knew that he needed to get stronger still first, and knew of only one place that he could get the training that he needed in time, and that was in the land of the scorpions. Cole made the trip out into the woods out side of hoshi and made his way to the cave once more. He hadn't been here since he signed the contract with the scorpions and they helped him train last time. When his father had sent him out here for the weekend for training.

Cole walked into the cave and he could feel the wind blowing out of the cave. The smell of water in the cave as well the sound of critters wondering around in the cave. Cole knew that most of them was scorpions as the cave could only be found be someone that had signed the contract or was shown, and that was because the scorpions killed anyone else that showed up their. Cole followed the trail down to the portal that lead to the land of the scorpions and walked threw the portal this time with out any hesitation.

Cole arrived at the same empty wasteland of a desert that he had the last time. The sand blowing in the wind getting stuck in his hair, and the sand dunes rising up all around to hide the little valley their was an oasis to the west of the entrance and the pyramid to the east of the entrance. Cole turned and started to walk to the oasis to find the scorpion that he had met before and get some more training. Vilect the small scorpion that showed cole how to get here was standing on his normal rock by the pool of water. He was telling they other smaller scorpions what to do and to hurry that they didn't have all day. Then Vilect noticed cole “whats wrong” the scorpion said. He sounded like he really meant it as well. He walked over and claimed up coles pants leg and kept climbing up the skin being careful not to break the skin with his legs. He rested on coles shoulder as cole sat down on one of the rocks by the river. He looked at Vilect in the corner of his eye “my mother and father was killed by a cult called the Jaws of Grima” cole said as another tear rolled down his cheek. The scorpion looked surprised and used his pincer to catch the tear from coles cheek. “well those bastereds what you going to do about that then” Vilect said. “We was not done with your training when you left the last time” he added before jumping down from coles shoulder landing on the ground. Cole looked at Vilect as he turned to talk in the direction of the pyramid. “You don't have all day. That pyramid is not a normal pyramid as you may or may not know” Vilect told cole as he didn't stop. Cole didn't get up he sat their still feeling every thing that he had been told that day about his parents death, and knowing that their was no family left in the world for him. Then Vilect turned to look at cole stopping. “What you think just sitting their will fix anything boy. You have to get stronger and you have to get stronger now. If you don't the enemy will have time to flee and regroup and you may never find the group that did this” Vilect said. It spurned something in cole as he got up, and he remembered his promise to himself that he would avenge him mother and father by killing every single member of the cult that he could find.

“You right lets do this” cole said as he got up and started to follow Vilect. He had to take short steps as he was much bigger than Vilect and he wanted to stay with him. “So what is it with that pyramid anyway” cole asked as they made their way across the desert to the other side. “That Pyramid is another gate way. It exists between this world and the world of the dead, but only members of you clan that has the blood line limit and can use it. Make their way to the pyramid, and not many new ninja make it here at all as most of them don't even know this place is here. Like I told you before you are the first contract holder in many many years. They most important thing to remember about the time you spend in that pyramid is that as long as you are their you are not here, and when you leave the pyramid is it like you never left here” Vilect would tell cole. He didn't really know what the hell Vilect was saying, and Vilect could tell just by the look on coles face. “It means that as long as you in the pyramid and don't come out time does not move out here for you. You could tech be in their for a thousand years and time would stay the same. However you would be dead by that point as you still age and grow” Vilect says. Cole thought about it for a while and realized that what Vilect was telling cole is that he could train and get stronger and then go and kill the members of the cult before the day was up.

It didn't take to long before they made it to the pyramid. It was huge and blocked out the sun. The shade felt good after the long walk in the sand and beating sun. Cole walked over and touched the pyramid it had been almost a month since he came here last and trained. The stone was still as cold as ever even though it sat in the sun all day, as the sun never sat here and night never came. For miles all you could see was sand, and cole didn't know were in the world this place was located, or if it was even in this world that it was located, but he trusted the scorpions and they had held their word when ever they gave it. Vilect watched as cole walked into the pyramid. It was a giant hole in the front no door or anything to keep anyone out. Their was only the feeling of death and pain that you got the closer you got to the door, and it only got worse the further in you went. Cole now figured that it was part of the world that he was in now. He was alive and every thing here was dead he knew that. Before he didn't know what this place was or how it worked. He still didn't know how it worked it would probably be to much for him to understand anyway. All he did know was that as long as he was in here he could train and time out side would mean nothing. Cole knew that this place was danger's and that the last time he trained here he never made past the first encounter. He remembered that the man was a highly trained taijutsu user, and wiped the floor with cole. He also knew that he barley made it out with his life. He knew that the ghosts in here played for keeps and they had every intention of killing him. That made the training that much more real and valuable.

Cole followed the path into the pyramid. It was stone covered just like the outside of the pyramid and it stayed cold here. Cole could feel the cold under his skin like it was trying to get into him and freeze him from the inside out, but he didn't let it show and kept on walking deeper into the pyramid. Once he turned the corner the torches lit up, but instead of the normal warmth one would feel from the fire. The fire burned cold and had a blueish green tint to it like death. Was these the flames of the underworld cole thought to himself as he kept walking. The flames put off a blueish glow on the walls and made the pyramid look even more creepy than before. Proving coles thoughts that this place couldn't get any worse wrong. Cole turned the corner and walked into the first opening in the pyramid it was an 20 by 20 room with pillars spread evenly among it. Each pillar holding another torch lighting the area up. On they other side their was a man wearing a jacket and pants. He wore no shoes and his hair was long and kept down his back. The man turned to face cole and cole could see that he wore no shirt under his jacket, and had two dots on his forehead. Cole knew that it was a sign of the kaguya clan as that was their clan symbol. He also knew that way back when people wore the dots on their, but now a days people didn't bother and instead wore them on something they had. Cole himself had them on the collar of his cloak that he threw in the trash before leaving the hospital. When the man turned and saw cole he didn't hesitate one second before charging at full speed. He flew at cole and it was everything cole could do to block the first hit aimed at cole chest. The man had went straight for a heart punch aiming to rip coles heart out of his chest. Cole countered after blocking and pushed the mans arm away and delivering three short punches of his own to the mans black and kidneys. The ghost didn't even show that it had hurt at all, and just spun around with a cloths line looking to take coles head off. He ducked and the mans arm flew into one of the pillars that was close by and sticking into the stone. Cole spun him self rubbing his back against the mans now lodged arm to get behind him one more time. He lunched a series of blows on the mans back not caring were they landed as long as they hit and hit hard. The man felt that one as he pulled his arm free of the pillar. Stone falling away landing on the floor, cole thought to himself how strong is this guy. The man then pushed two bones out of the palms of his hands and charged at cole, so cole did the same. The man hesitated for just a sec and gave cole the first move cole slid under him between his legs slicing both his calf's with his bones . Before rising up again a pushing the bones into the mans back. The man pushed bones out of his back cole dodged them backing up just fast enough. However one of the bones landed on his check giving him a small cut their. The man then fell to the ground and sat down. “You have beat me and may now continue threw the temple” he said in an almost inhuman voice.

Not knowing what to do cole kept walking on threw the room. He knew that the first fight was going to be the easiest since he had already fought him before and knew most of his moves. Cole also knew that from here on it would be very difficult to defeat the rest of the ghost in the pyramid in combat. He also knew that it was they only way for him to get strong enough fast enough to do what he needed to do. Cole started walking once more following the path further into the pyramid. The torches kept lighting up on their own with out any warning what so ever. After about the thrifty one cole started to not care about them no more as his eyes had adjusted to the light by this point. The next room cole came into was a round room their was a few boulders laying around but their was no pillars this time, and their was a man standing on they other side of the room. He looked like he had been waiting for cole to get here. The man was wearing the anbu outfit of some village that cole did not recognize. Cole only figured that it was an anbu outfit because of the mask. This told cole that this one was going to be hard. The anbu was the best of the best and served they kages directly. However cole would not let this stand in his way.

He decided to take the aggressive stance this time and charged at the man, but the man started to make hand signs and before cole was half way across the room the man breathed a fire ball. It was huge and covered a huge portion of the room. Cole wouldn't be able to out run it, and he didn't think he would be able to survive the blast either. He did they only thing he could think of at the time and he ducked behind one of the boulders that was close by. The fire ball engulfed the boulder and cole, but the boulder held strong and kept cole from being burned alive. Instead he was just a little chard, but all in all he was good to go still. The moment the fire stopped cole was over the boulder and closing the distance as fast as possible. Before he could get to the guy the man blew a breath of wind so strong that it sent cole flying against the wall behind him. The impact alone was enough to break a few ribs and dislocate his shoulder, but the man followed it up with a few upper cuts to the stomach and cole started to cough up blood. He had a line of blood rolling out of the corner of his mouth when the man grabbed cole by the arm and judo tossed him across the room back to the side he came in on. Cole went to crawl away thinking that if he could make back out that he would be fine, but as he rolled over on his belly and started to crawl. The man was their, and the moment that cole lifted up he planted his boot right into coles rib cage hard enough that it sent cole up off the ground. Cole kept trying to crawl but every time the man would plant another boot to coles side. It took cole almost five minutes and six boots the the ribs before he was back out of the room. Cole kept going expecting the man to keep following but he soon realized that the man had stopped and was turning around going back in to the room. He figured that the man must be bond to the room then. Cole kept trying to pull his way back out to the outside of the pyramid were Vilect was at and he could help him maybe cole thought.

Cole awoke to the scorpions splashing cold water on his face from a bowl. Vilect was their and some of they other scorpions. “how did you get in here I thought that time stopped outside” cole asked Vilect between swelling lips and jaws. “Well if you had waited a few minutes you would have learned a few things. Like that time don't really stop that is not possible, but what is, is to slow it down. While your in here you can spend a hole year and only a day will pass out side” Vilect said. “now we are here to help you and brought enough supplies to last a year he added. Cole thought about that he was going to be here for a hole year. It didn't really bother him all that well he was still very young and if this was the case he would be even stronger when the chuunin exams did roll around. Plus he would be even more prepared for the cult that killed his family. He would never forget that and he would never let them get away with it. He had a mission in life now, and it was to kill every single member of that cult.

Cole fought for year, and for a year the member of the anbu would beat him into a bloody mess and Vilect and the other scorpions would patch him up. He had one more day left before they would run out of food in the pyramid and they would have to step out side again to replenish the food and supplies. Cole went back into the room this time prepared more than he had ever been. For a hole year this guy had been beating cole to an inch of his life almost every day, and this time it was coles turn. Cole entered and the man started to make hand signs cole recognized them as the ones for the fire ball jutsu. He threw a kunai with out hesitation and ran to the right. The man blocked the kunai by flipping back and kicking the kunai into the roof of the room. Cole was ready for it though the man had done it before and it was nothing new to cole. The man turned and launched the fire ball jutsu at cole, but cole was already at his top speed and was able to out run the fire ball and get around it. When cole hit the edge of the fire ball he flew to the man taking a bit of a burn to his arm. The pain didn't really affect cole, as he had been getting hit a lot harder for the past year. Once he closed the distance he saw the man preparing his wind style jutsu. Cole quickly used the body flicker to move to the other side of the man dodging the wind style jutsu. Cole with katana in hand went to stick the katana right in the mans back, but the man rolled to the side dodging the attack, but cole changed direction and went for a side swipe. The man simple jumped over the blade, and cole changed and went into a spinning back kick while the man was in the air. He didn't have any were to go, and cole would have him. The kick landed and sent the man rolling on the ground. Cole didn't waste a second and flew at the man hitting top speed fast. Point of the katana aimed right at the mans head. The man dodged the point but took a cut down the side of his face. Cole quickly changed and went for a swipe while the man was down aiming to take his head off. However the man ducked and rolled and threw a kunai that landed right in coles shoulder. Forcing him to drop the sword, but it didn't stop the attack. Cole pulled the kuani out of his arm, as the man got up and threw a punch at coles face. It landed but cole had created a layer of bone under his skin, and the blow felt like nothing. Cole returned the favor by focusing on his breathing and gaining a massive speed and strength boost from the heaven breathing method. He then used the boost to attack the man. Throwing a right hook at insane speed and strength he knocked the guy a good one and sent him rolling on the ground once more.

Cole was not done however and kept running after the man kicking him more and more till the man gave in. He vanished for a moment and appeared back in the center of the room. With the same half dead voice of the guy before “you have passed this test you may move on” the ghost said. Cole wanted to move on but he didn't have any more time in here he could have stayed maybe another day and that would have been it he didn't have any more food and had to leave. Vilect and cole with the rest of the scorpions walked their way back out of the pyramid. Walking out side for the first time in a year the light was so bright that cole couldn't see anything. If he so much as tried to open his eyes the pain was so intense that he was afraid that his eyes was going to burst into flames. Vilect had to lead cole back to the oasis by voice, and would laugh every time cole fell over on the sand. Basically Vilect never stopped laughing the hole way back. Once they was back at the oasis Vilect collected himself and told cole that his training was done for now, and that he would have to come back at another time and they could continue on into the pyramid.

Cole turned to walk back to the portal to take him back to the cave when Vilect yelled at him. “What are you doing you can't go back looking like that.” Cole hadn't noticed till Vilect said something, but he hadn't really cleaned up in over a year. He then noticed that while he and Vilect was in the pyramid the other scorpions had been busy working. They had made him a bath to clean up in and had gotten ready to give him a hair cut, as by this point their was no saving his hair. The scorpions also gave him a new outfit as well. It is a white black button down that he can undo to use his bone jutsu with out tearing it, with black pants that are loose around the legs tucked into his black boots. It also came with a pearl white kimono with light blue designs ran through it. The black sash that held the kimono together also held his sword as well. Cole sat down in the chair looking at the outfit as it laid on another chair to his right. It was folded neatly and the scorpions began to clean his blade while they others started to cut his hair. He watched as what used to be pure silver fell to the ground now blood stained and full of dirt. Cole normally would have been flipping out a year ago, but now after everything that he had been through it was nothing just some hair to him now. It didn't take the scorpions to long to get done and show cole his new look. It was back to being silver again but now it was no were near as long it was kinda short now. They left enough hair to cover his face a bit but not enough to hinder vision. This was more of a combatants hair style now, and cole knew that it wouldn't be to long before he would leave this place once more. He had really started to like the scorpions and didn't mind staying here either. He figured that now that he really didn't have anywhere to go that he would probably come here more often now.

Cole stood up and put the new cloths on he thanking the scorpions for their hard work making all of it for him, and walked over and took a sup of water from the pool in the middle of the oasis before heading back out to the portal. The walk back was always faster than the walk to were you was going cole thought to himself as he made the trip. The new cloths was very light and they let plenty of air flow in as well. It was close to what it was like when he used to were the cloak all the time with out shirt on. Once cole made it to the portal he stopped and looked back over to the oasis and waved once more before stepping threw and heading back to hoshi.

A sad start to a happy ending Empty Re: A sad start to a happy ending

Cole walked out of the cave after his training with the scorpions. Their was another scorpion waiting out side the cave for him to arrive. Cole bent down and picked the scorpion up holding it in the palm of his hand. “We have found word of the cult a few miles to the east. They have sat up camp and are going to stay for the night” the scorpion told cole. “thank you” cole told the scorpion as he sat the it back down on the ground. Cole watched as the scorpion scurried back off into the woods. Cole checked his tools and made note of them making sure that he had everything that he was wanting. He then started to slowly walk in the direction of the camp the scorpion tole him about. He wanted to give them time to get their camp fully sit up and start putting guards out before he started.

Cole walked for about an hour taking his time to cover the mile or so. Once he started to get close cole took to the trees and started leaping from limb to limb with ease. Cole kept his eyes pealed for any movement along the way. Till he heard something, and stopped on the branch he was on and got down were he couldn't be seen. He watched one man tell another that he was going to be the east path guard. He heard the guard ask him how many others they was going to use for guard duty wanting to know when he was going to be able to go get some rest and eat. The man told him that they was using all of them and was going to swap out every four hours, and that it was they only way they could stay safe after what happened in hoshi two days ago. The ninja from there are probably still out looking for us, so we have to be ready for a fight at any time. Then the man turned and walked away.

Cole waited till he saw the man get back to the camp. He could make out what was going to be a camp by the sign of fire that was just starting to rise up. They was apparently getting ready to cook something for every one. Cole waited for the guard to turn before silently jumping down with his katana drawn and slicing the guards head off in one smooth motion as he fell from the tree. Cole hit the ground and rolled getting away from the body before the head was able to fall from the body. The attack happened so fast that the blade didn't even have any blood on it. Cole kept going circling the camp he knew that no one would be back to check on him for the next few hours giving him plenty of time to work. Cole rolled around to the north were he figured that north guard would be blocking that path. On his way their he saw some movement in the corner of his eye. It was another cultist, and cole could tell because they was all wearing the same symbol on their sleeve. The man saw cole before he could get to him though. The man raised his hand to whistle, but cole was faster and had done drawn a kunai and thrown it pinning the guys arm to his chest. The man went into shock as the cold steel went into his chest. Not enough to kill him but it would sure hurt like hell. Before the man could scream in pain cole was already their and put his katana threw the mans mouth as he went to open it silencing him permanently.

After that encounter cole jumped back into the trees jumping from limb to limb again. Cole flew from the tree taking out three more on his way to the north side of the camp. If this stayed the same they would have placed four people in all directions, and if they used half of their forces for guard duty at the same time. Than that would mean that their was 64 of them in total. With 32 outside the camp and 32 inside the camp. Cole kept his eyes open while he ran from limb to limb, and killing every member of the cult that he could find between the different directions before making his way back to were he started in the east. An hour had passed by now and it wouldn't be to much longer before they started to come out and trade spots. It would not boe well for cole if that happened. Cole leaped down from the tree and started to walk threw the woods into the camp staying off the path. He sneaked into the camp hiding behind a tent. Cole saw a man coming to the side of the tent, and cole grabbed him pulling him down behind the tent while slicing his throat open in the process. Cole moved threw the camp repeating the same process two more times before someone found one of the bodies. Cole knew it was time to fight he had shrink-ed their numbers down to manageable now as long as none of them was to well trained and none of them looked it. Every one in the camp ran to were the scream came from and cole waited till the last one was over at the body before coming out from behind a tent.

Making hand signs while moving cole created three blades of wind and sent them out cutting the heads off of 6 of the man and while cole jumped into the midst of the crowd slicing another ones throat while spinning and finishing with a backward stab getting another man. The crowd noticed now and turned to attack cole, but cole took out two more while every one drew weapons and got ready to fight. Cole turned and threw a punch creating a tiger out of the wind from the punch hitting five more of the man sending them flying back with an explosion. Another man came at cole from behind with his kunai drawn aiming to hit cole in the back. Cole created a thin layer of bone under his skin using the bone armor jutsu. The kunai hit coles skin but didn't even break threw the kunai broke in half with the force. Cole turned and grinned at the man showing his teeth. They had changed with his time spent in the underworld and now was more sharp and elongated. Cole turned and stuck his sword into the mans stomach and tore it out the side almost cutting the man in half before throwing another punch at another man behind him. Sending out a small force of wind that knocked him over on his back, and before he could get up cole was beside him and drove his sword into the mans neck.

By this time the rest of the group had started to split up and run. Their was only about five left as cole had single handedly killed the rest of their group. Cole caught each and every one of the members of the cult killing them all. By the time it was over coles white shirt was covered in blood splatters, and his sword was crimson. Cole turned and saw another scorpion sitting at the edge of one of the tents with a basket. Cole walked over to the scorpion “you left before we could give you this” the scorpion said. Opening the basket it was a few duplicates of coles clothing the scorpions made for him, and it had some laundry detergent in it the basket as well. The scorpion told him that it would get blood stains out of white. Cole thanked him once more and asked if he would pass it on to they others. The scorpions agreed and cole turned and left as the scorpion did the same.

Cole left the basket on the table were the scorpion left it, and walked over to the tents looking for any direction to were another group was at.

A sad start to a happy ending Empty Re: A sad start to a happy ending

The sun was high in the sky over the woods. The animals was no were to be found, except for a few scavengers that was picking the bodies that cole had left behind. Cole walked threw the camp looking over every thing he could find. He couldn't find any information on they other camps that the jaws of grima had in the area. He knew that their had to be more of them, but it was looking like they hadn't left any clues as to were they others would be at. Cole then wished that he had left at least one of them alive so he could question them, but it was to late now. Cole walked on threw the camp when he saw it. It was a small map with a zone in the desert area near by circled in red pin. A clue cole thought to himself as he picked up the map. It wasn't far away maybe a few hours run at his speed. Cole went to walk out of the camp when he passed a mirror hanging in one of the tents. He saw himself covered in blood now dried and caked on him clothing, face and hair. “I should clean up a bit” he said to himself. It wouldn't look good to run into anyone looking like this.

Cole walked out of the camp taking his basket and placing the cloths inside in his pack. He then left the basket in the camp, and started to head out to the river that was near by. It didn't take long to get to the river only about 20 minutes. Once their cole undressed and walked down into the water washing the blood off his body. The water was cold but refreshing seeing how he was starting to get to closer to the borders with the earth country. Cole knew that this was the last place to get water till the oasis in the desert. The desert was just about a mile from were he was at, and the woods would start to fade out into sand and cactus before to long. Cole finished getting the blood out of his hair, and walked back out of the river and put some pants on first out of the pack. He then finished replacing his cloths with the same outfit. Placing the blood stained cloths in the pack, but kept them separate from the clean cloths. Once fully dressed cole figured that he would go and check the desert their was another spot that the cult could be hiding at their. Cole had heard of rumors that their was a place in the desert that was hard to find. Because of the location and the shear distance that one had to travel to get to it. Cole figured that it was worth a shot to see if he could find it.

Cole gathered up his stuff and started to walk to the desert. After about 30 minutes the trees broke way to the sand, and cole was staring out into the void of sand and nothingness. He had brought with him an extra canteen for drinking water, as he knew the dangers of the desert and was in no rush to get a first hand example of its power. The sun sitting high in the sky and the heat beating down on cole. He had never felt the sun at this point and it was exhausting he understood now why not a lot of people lived out here, and why the village hidden in the sand was all but abandoned. Cole spent hours walking up and down sand dooms, but to no avail as he never once saw anything like a canyon that he had heard about. Cole found a little shade behind a huge boulder and decided to take a break and rest for a minute before continuing with his search.

The boulder offered cole a brief break from the heat, and he was thankful for it. He felt like he understood what a hard boiled egg felt like now, as he sat their in the shade. Cole thought for a moment and he just couldn't understand how this place could be so hard to find. He got it that it was a big desert but why was a huge canyon so hard to find. Was it the heat that hid it or some jutsu. He had walked for hours in the desert now hitting every high point that he could see and looking out in the distance to see nothing. Cole just didn't' understand this at all he figured that he should have been able to see something of it in the distance to give him a direction to walk in at least but nothing. After a few more minutes cole decided to get up and continue on threw his rout he picked threw the desert. He was not familer enough with the desert to go to far off path, but he knew it enough to follow the unmarked path at least. Cole kept walking and was about to give up on the search and try again later when he was more prepared for the heat. When he heard a noise come from a distance cole looked over but couldn't see anything figuring that it was over the next sand dome. Cole walked in the direction that he heard the noise, and once he topped the sand dome. He could see a man standing on they other side.

The man was wearing a black sweat shirt and black shorts. This was the first person cole had saw in a while now that he didn't fight against or kill before they knew he was their. Cole thought about turning around and leaving the man to his business but cole figured that it was probably a good idea to get back into the habit of talking to people. For the past couple years now cole had spent training in an alternate dimension were he fought his ancestors. Who was not very talkative leaving they only things for him to talk to was some scorpions that he had made friends with.
