Forest training Empty Forest training

Sun Feb 15, 2015 4:29 pm
Nakama had woke up in the same bush as he had slept in. Or at least he thought it was. They all looked the same anyway...

With all the energy from last night's food, he felt like today would be a good day to get some training done. Keeping still in his lovely soft bush, he opened up the book. He always had something to read with him, it helped him pass through most days, but today's book was for training and not reading. Well some reading would be required, but nothing too hard. The book contained a complete guide and instruction manual to performing some of the well known and ancient, Leaf Taijutsu. The first one he would like to practice was known as the Leaf whirlwind.

The guide for this Jutsu only contain  several step by step pictures and a small paragraph of what was to be done. Firstly, the opponent's evasion margin is restrained upon seeing the high kick, thus augmenting the chances for the low kick to hit the mark. So originally the high kick is little more than a feint. So the move was simply an feint and attack. Nothing too hard and nothing that would take the day or even the afternoon to learn, but It honestly depended on the day itself.

Nakama got out of his bush bed and went to a small clearing nearby. He took of his thrashed hood and checked his surroundings. No one had passed by him yet or was coming. As far he could tell. Kama spawned his clone to start off. It would have to be his sparring partner for now. His clone knew what to do, just keeping coming at him...
The clone charged Nakama with his hands to its side. Kama was quick to try the new form. He threw one of his legs high, as directed. Sadly the twirling follow up was too slow and his clone side-stepped the first kick and delivered a hard right into Nakama's chest. The clone didn't do anything too brutal, it was himself after all.

Nakama fell over, getting punched with both legs up didn't provide the user with too much balance. He picked himself up and readied himself again, calling out for the Clone to commence. This time the clone jumped at Kama. Making it slightly harder to kick all the way up, but Kama still tried nevertheless. With the first high kick being blocked by the crossed arms. This time he put more power into the second kick. A little Too much power.

The kick was too fast and missed the target. Throwing himself in a 180 twirl and receiving a sharp kick to his back. That one really did hurt. After eating a mouthful of dirt, Nakama picked himself up. The clone was not allowing any room for mistakes.  At the moment, he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or bad.

After clearing his throat, he called for the clone to begin again. Nakama's clone approached at a fast speed, but it knew that Kama should of had it down by now. The clone made his first attack with another hard right.

Nakama blocked it with his left elbow and directed it to the side, exposing the clone's body. Kama threw his own punch in an upper cut, send the clone back on the defensive.  Nakama was quick to close the gap, by leaping at the spawn. He threw a series of punches. Most of which were blocked. After the barrage had slowed down, the clone threw a high kick.

"It isnt..."Nakama thought, before having to duck under a kick. The clone was using the Jutsu against him. Cleaver. The clone was still as unfamiliar with it as Nakama and had been too slow to deliver the twirling kick. Using this to his advantage, Nakama caught the leg and used it to fling the clone to a nearby tree. Kama followed close behind his target, almost reaching him at the same time the clone made impact.

The time was now.
Nakama flung the high kick strait at the clone's head. The clone put one of his aching arms up, forgetting about the follow up. Not too fast and to slow. Kama twirled his body around, bringing the next kick in at full speed. The shaking of the tree almost blocked out the noise of the clone puffing out of existence. Third time's the charm.

Kama sat down, breathing heavily. This technique was very...demanding. What a shame, since it was the just the start of this book.

After a nice two hour powernap, Nakama began again. His legs were already aching from just the complicated twisting motion of the attack, but he couldn't stop here. He thought since he has had the form right, it was now time to integrate it his own combat.

This time two shadow clones would suffice. This time both were given a kunai. After spawning them, they were ordered to move out try to attack him, but to only go for hit and runs. Obviously, they agreed and ran into the forest. While he waited for their attacks, he took up the book again to see if he could get anymore from the pictures.

While he flipped through the page he found one last piece of information at the end. The stance...
Why? Why would they put such a vital part of the technique at the very end? Who ever made this must of had nothing but rocks in his head.
'Keep the right knee dominate leg facing forward while the other kept bent and low. This will ease your kicks, the non-dominate leg will be the source of your power for any kicks. It is recommended to keep your dominate hand forward and your other behind you, so you may slingshot it from your body with more power. Keep yourself low, making the opponent reach down and expeirence fatigue.'

No this stance was giving him fatigue. Nakama followed the pictures and the advice, it was very uncomfortable, but maybe if would actually help. As he was assuming the position, the first clone stuck. He actually was caught off guard. The position was less then comfortable. It did work though.

The clone was met by a kick across its body and was sent flying across the clearing far into the tree line. Amazing. His left leg had done that. The one he considered the weaker of the two and it sent the clone into another village! Truly the stance was created for this kind of movement.

While being yet again distracted, the other clone jumped from cover. Nakama jumped back, losing the awkward stance again as natural instinct kicked in. He danced with the clone for several seconds. Kunai on Kunai they continued to parry and attack each other. Until he remembered the power the stance had provided him. He assumed the position once more after backing off.
The clone wasn't the wiser and charged him, Kunai sticking out towards Kama. The clone met his match when taking a direct hit from the kick. Nakama was surprised himself. With the stance, his twirl was faster than a tornado and his kicks harder than an earthquake. The full power of the Leaf Whirlwind had been revealed.

After all was said and done, the sun was already setting. It had taken longer than he had liked, but he had time and he had a couple of more techniques at his disposal...

For tomorrow of course.

The nearby basin had been quite loud for awhile. Probably some others having an argument. Whatever it was, it was noisy. It rocked trees and moved the landscape slightly. It woke up Nakama, it was still dark outside...
A new morning began and new day of training would have to begin. He was ready for today, yesterdays progress making him actually motivated to continue. But at this time! The birds weren't even chirping yet. So much sleep lost. Was it even worth it to continue today? It sadly was....

But instead of focusing on the Whirlwind he would now need to focus on the Clone Jutsu. It really didn't occur to him that his clones were acting rash and generally stupid. While they took orders and moved independently, they were not very strong, or good at combat, or smart, or just good all together. They need some serious work. So today they could work at it. It would probably be easy just to do drills with them, keeping them moving so he could control them better and possibly sync with him more easily.

With made the clone sign and spawned two clones of himself, right in front of him. The kept the same sad look that he always had. He always hated the look of his face. It reminded him of his past. He attacked one of the clones with a Kunai. One of them was smart enough to back off while the other grabbed his hand. While the move wasn't stupid in itself, the clone should of known the Thread would follow up.

Four tentacles pierced the clone, blowing him up into nothing, but smoke. The other took the time to attack Nakama. It surprisingly enough summoned its own tendrils to counter  his. Improvement already! They battled it out for several minutes. Nakama was holding back, the point was to train the ability, not just defeat it. Eventually instead of standing still and letting his extra arms do all the work, so he began sprinting so the clone would need to move and attack with him. Of course it did follow him, but its attack prowess was significantly dropping . It was almost embarrassing. If the clone was not tripping under its own feet, it was throwing attacks that were completely off target. At one point Kama stopped blocking the tendrils as there was no point in wasting the energy.

He told it to stop and they would need to focus on running first. Good call because the clone wasn't really as fast as its original. As they hopped from tree to tree the clone was slowly losing speed and eventually being left in the dust by Nakama. Poor clone. Nakama came back for the clone that was out of breath. It walked several paces forward and then blowing up into a cloud of smoke.

Kama was about to re summon another two, before his stomach was against it. Its rumble echoing off every tree in sight. Perfect! Now he could train them to sync with his attacks.  Then he could get triple the meal for nothing!

Nakama summoned another two and moved out to find some food with his self made team. After just several trees, he found a flock of birds resting in the trees, about One hundred meters out. Perfect. It was almost impossible for them not to get anything. It was almost.
He gave the nod to his team to begin the attack. Each one of them threw a shuriken at the intended target: Each others shurikens. From left to right they all hit each other, flying wildly and the group of birds, missing every single one of them. No redo's either. The noise of the clashing metal scared all of them off, the trees sounded as if they were laughing when the birds left the Team's company. His jaw dropped and he sat at the tree branch with his hands over his eyes in disbelief.  How...
Back at base camp, or well Bush.  Nakama ate quietly. Squirrel, the worst possible thing in this damn forest and he had to eat it while his two idiots played with each other.  They were told to run around in circles until he was done eating. Each time they passed each other they must attack once and then return to running around the clearing. The worst part is Nakama knew he was technically hurting himself.  They were using his chakra and they were just fakes with barley any intelligence. Maybe he would need to work on that. Oh, boy.
