To Kill A Merchant (Akira) - Page 2 Empty Re: To Kill A Merchant (Akira)

Sun Jan 04, 2015 11:58 am
"Well Goodness that's quite the confession." Coco announced finally sitting up. She'd never been the object of someone's affection before. It was kind of nice actually. Maybe all men weren't a big hassle after all. Well they'd only just kissed, so that remained to be seen. "Well I'm not sure what I should say, other than: I'd be honored to have you walk by my side." Finally the blush that'd been gracing her cheeks for what felt like hours finally died down, and gave way to her normal shade of pale pink. "May our foot steps appear side by side, and stretch on to the horizon." She smiled at him. "An Ame Saying. While our steps will be washed away, may our memories never be."

"Any Way." She announced with a laugh. "That was about all the touchy feely this girl can handle in one sitting. Shall we go and kill a man, Lover Boy Senpai?"

To Kill A Merchant (Akira) - Page 2 Empty Re: To Kill A Merchant (Akira)

"Yeah, I guess. Just felt right to say it y'know." He rubbed the back of his head nervously with an embarassed smile on his face. Damn, they both pretty much put their hearts and souls into their confessions but they actually had a man to kill, and if it kept up like this it'd probably get really graphic in some tiny boat. They had to kill this merchant fast. Fortunately the waves had carried them quite a way away towards the island. And as such they were almost there and their hunt for the wanted merchant would begin. An assassination, whoever this guy was he had to go down in cold blood. And while he'd happily talk to the girl he fancied all day, there were important ninja duties to be done. "Sounds good to me."

Akira jumped off the boat and channeled chakra to his feet, walking steadily on the water, grabbing the rope tied to the boat and dragging the craft towards a tree on the shore, to keep it steady and to stop it from drifting off. "So, looks like it's time to find our merchant."

To Kill A Merchant (Akira) - Page 2 Empty Re: To Kill A Merchant (Akira)

Coco swung her legs over the side of the boat, and jumped down, letting her yellow rubber boots stick the landing. The lover's cruise was over, and now it was time to get to work. She took a gander at the inner reaches of the island. Strange spiky formations stuck out everywhere, and between spike thing vegetation grew. It was the weirdest island Coco had ever seen before. Still it wasn't raining so that made things easy enough for them. She'd spent plenty of time tracking things in the rain village, and that was with the rain washing away foot steps, hiding scents, and obscuring vision in noise. In the sunny wonderland that was Kumo, hiding was going to be pretty difficult. She looked back into the forest, and felt it staring back at her. Well maybe it would have been a little harder than she'd thought at first glance. She could sense some serious animal life further in.

She drew a Kunai from it's holster, just in case. "Alright Akira, what's the plan?" She crouched down, and brought out the scroll which contained the mission Details. "It says here that the merchant entered into the country with his carts and usual wares. That's how he managed to get through security. After he broke into the Noble's house he and his cart of wares fled to the island." She paused and looked up at Akira, her mind was going over the information. "He'd have plenty of supplies, with that cart around, he may have been planning on hiding for a while if that's the case, so he may of fled further into the island, somewhere real deep. Thought, if he really did bring his cart along he couldn't have gotten too far with it. The jungle is too thick to be slugging it around.

"He'd avoid he public spots, and with his supplies I'd think he'd stay away from Game Trails too. That way he wouldn't have to deal with as many predators." She sighed, this was suddenly starting to look like it'd be quite the task. "Hopefully that'll let us narrow down our field of search." She waited for Akira's response, hoping that she'd at least impressed him with that. Hoping more that he'd know what to do with the information.

To Kill A Merchant (Akira) - Page 2 Empty Re: To Kill A Merchant (Akira)

Mon Jan 05, 2015 1:04 am
Akira made his way to shore and took a little look at the Bijuu Island, interesting place this. He didn't quite know what all these spiked formations were for, or even how they got there but this whole place reeked of mystery. This was an island, and unless they detected any boats going out, the merchant was most likely still on this island, which meant that they'd find him pretty easily provided they went quickly, they had until sundown to do it so they were on borrowed time. They had to come up with a plan and execute it quickly.

Akira thought of splitting up and looking at different areas, but they didn't know how strong this guy was, and it'd definitely be easier for him if he had to take out one at a time instead of both, it wasn't as if he doubted Coco's fighting ability -- She was tough -- But he didn't want to see her wind up killed as a result of it, he literally just made a promise to protect her so that plan was well and truly out of the question, instead they'd both need to find a place to start patrolling together.

But Coco came up with plans quickly, damn. Perhaps she really was a good tracking ninja! He smiled at her.

"We don't know who still visits this place, Coco. So I reckon a good place to hide is probably the Bijuu Temple, or Killer Bee's old house. Nobody visits that and it's where I'd go." He suggested, she was allowed to debate with him, as he was merely throwing out a suggestion. He figured it was logical, why not go to a place where literally everyone wasn't allowed in? He could also store his stuff inside it. "I don't see him inside a forest full of predators, unless this guy's got some freak animal abilities or something, or if he warded 'em off somehow. But it's a good guess too."

Looking off into the distance and pulling out a map he had in his pocket and unraveling it, he got a look at the turtle's loadout. Seemed as if the temple was to the west of their position, that'd be a good place to scout first. "The Bijuu Temple should be scouted first, I think. Unless you're in the mood to fight some giant animals." He grinned.

And with that he set off to the West, where the temple was located from their position. He was ready to see what being on this massive turtle was like. But he went there quickly, dashing through the path, knowing full well Coco would be able to follow - She was faster than him after all!

To Kill A Merchant (Akira) - Page 2 Empty Re: To Kill A Merchant (Akira)

Mon Jan 05, 2015 9:50 am
"No, I'm good." Cooc announced with a smile. Kasunda, and the other salamanders gave her enough trouble, she didn't need a whole new race of animals fighting and trying to train her. Coco kept pace with her senpai as he ran into the forest. The temple it was then. She trailed a safe distance behind her senpai jumping from branch to branch as they made their way through the dense vegetation. She could see how this place could be dangerous. You'd be running through forest, and suddenly the forest would give way to one of the jagged rock formations. If a person was going too fast, or weren't watching their step they could find themselves in a whole heap of trouble couldn't they?

Between the canopy of vibrant green leafs she could spot the sun peaking through. The bright luminescent orb had passed the halfway point of the day and was slowly making it's descent towards the horizon once more. Oh man, the day was going by quickly. How long had they been in that boat? It felt like ages to her, and apparently it had been! She didn't regret I though, time well wasted was not wasted time at all. As long as they managed to catch their man.

Coco planted her feet firmly on a tree branch before rocketing further up into the canopy. She found it a little weird that her day had quickly gone from a scene from a teenage romance novel to suddenly two ninjas flying through a forest towards their assassination target. No one ever accused Coco of living a normal life, but she would have liked for there to have been a bit of a distinction between her romantic, and combative lives. But could she really complain? On her last encounter with Akira he'd taught her an A-rank Technique, and made her a dinner. Golly, that guy sure knew the way to a Kunochi's heart.

From her position high up in the trees Coco could keep a Good eye on her Senpai as he made his own way through the Forest. He was like a jaguar as her tore through the vegetation towards the temple. Slick and powerful, and one-hundred percent on the prowl. She was glad she'd managed to luck into having him as her partner. She suddenly blushed at that narration. Mission partner, Partner in Ninja activities, not like partner partner. Gosh wouldn't that be something. She blushed again. Out of all the massacred, cat invested temple in Kumo she was awfully glad she'd wandered into his.

They were quickly approaching on an entirely different kind of Temple. With a name like 'The Bijuu Temple' Coco wasn't entirely sure what to expect. Especially when it could have been harboring a dangerous criminal within it's hallowed walls. She prepared herself for whatever was to come, She was confident that Akira could handle whatever was going to happen, her only desire was to be of some use when the time came.

The two of the began to slow down as they reached the edges of the forest. The forest was about to give way to the clearing which held a large cliff face with a crystal clear waterfall flowing down it's side. Coco dropped from her higher up branches to where Akira was standing and she gave him a look. "You sure you know how to read that map." She whispered with a devilish grin. "Because that is definitely not a temple Senpai."

To Kill A Merchant (Akira) - Page 2 Empty Re: To Kill A Merchant (Akira)

Tue Jan 06, 2015 7:32 pm
Akira was confident he knew where he was going, even though he hadn't been on this island once in his life! Surely a map and compass wasn't gonna lie though. They were proved explorer equipment, surely! Ugh, all this was doing was bringing out the little boy in Akira. He loved exploring, often dreaming about becoming an explorer, hacking down jungle plants and discovering new places. But then eventually that dream was surpassed with the dream of becoming a powerful Shinobi. But hell this was almost as close as it got to being an explorer. These territories had been explored, sure. But he hadn't been there before so it was almost as if he was discovering a completely new place. Which just made the almost infantile curiosity bubble up and boil.

This jungle was so thick, he could barely see more than a few meters in front of him clearly before more vegetation obstructed his line of sight. Made it seem mysterious and sinister. A big, thick jungle was almost always involved with some sort of epic explorer tale. He was feeling himself right now, he could almost imagine the horrible centuries of pillaging and exploitation that came after exploration, pity that this was literally some massive turtle and had no mineral worth whatsoever apart from it being a training ground. Yeah that was mean to the poor turtle but, that's what it is.

He hacked through the branches and twigs using his sword, yeah you were supposed to use a machete but he wasn't gonna pack one of those when his sword was literally sharper than any sort of hacking device, and he was certain that machete wasn't gonna do a good job against a katana if the guy they were facing was armed in some way. But nah, all he needed was that sword it was pretty much a vital possession of his, and he wouldn't be seen without it. Shit he'd probably shower and swim with it if it was actually a good idea or practical in any way.

He was making short work of the jungle in front of him, pretty much creating a clean path ahead of him by slashing pretty much anything which got in his way, dodging larger branches which'd require more than one swing to deal with, he wouldn't waste any time here. They had a man to kill and the quicker they got it done the better.

He saw Coco jump to the top of the trees, probably to take a look from above, she was smart. Already finding a way to maximise efficiency to spot targets and whatnot, while Akira took the groundroute, she'd be up top. Almost like his eyes in the sky. Wow, infact that got him thinking. What were these two exactly? Were they together now or? This wasn't really established before this whole mission thing kinda happened. He should probably work on separating his love life from his work life, but it was tough when the girl he liked was...y'know, a Kunoichi, and that was sort of what they did. The whole 'so honey what did you get up to today' conversation would pretty much be nonexistant since they both did the same stuff and even worked together.

Tomorrow perhaps, provided they both escaped injury. He'd do something nice with Coco, provided she was free, of course.

His attention returned to the journey, and it seemed as if he had taken the complete wrong direction, but how!? He had a compass and a map and everything! Ugh, perhaps he wasn't so cut out to be an explorer, perhaps just being a swordsman and a shinobi would suffice. "B-But I used a compass!" He raged. Giving the stupid gold contraption is his left hand a glare so icy he'd freeze his hand if he kept it up. "Ugh, there goes my childhood dream of becoming an explorer..." He grumbled. "Did you see anything up there?" He asked, wondering if she had any idea of where else to look, after all he had gotten them lost pretty much so he figured he'd stop suggesting directions after that crap. "I figured you'd try to stop calling me that after...that." He giggled a bit, his cheeks dusting a light pink.

In any case he decided to take a quick look at the breathtaking sight they were given. "This place would be much nicer to visit if we weren't actually y'know, in the middle of lookin' to kill someone." He grinned, he didn't have a camera so he kind of just had to burn this image into his retinas for later life.

He took a better look at the map, what exactly had he done wrong? So where were they now? He remembered distinctively following the west arrow, however it didn't lead them to the temple, so where were they? This was getting properly annoying to him now. Why didn't criminals just appear? They always had to be so hush-hush, it'd make slaughtering them a lot, lot easier.

He scratched his head and looked at the compass, as it started spinning wildly. Oh, it was probably broken.

"Piece of shit." Akira huffed as he threw it straight off the clifface as hard as he could, travelling far into the distance and then disappearing from sight. Why did his equipment decide to not work in the middle of a mission of all places? Such misfortune.

To Kill A Merchant (Akira) - Page 2 Empty Re: To Kill A Merchant (Akira)

Coco smiled as Akira sputtered like a kettle pot. A small part of her wondered if he was holding that map in the right direction. Once more from the underbrush for the forest she scouted out the area. This was the location that people on vacation would send to their relatives 'wish you were here love coco.' and all of that. She'd never seen a waterfall with such crisp water. That spring almost looked magical as rainbows flew out from the mist of the steamy stream of water. A cool wind blew through the forest putting Coco's hair on end.  Something was ... afoot.

She couldn't be sure, but. Just on the other side of the waterfall there appeared to be a figure. The shadowy silhouette of a human being approaching the falls from the other side. "Senpai." She breathed, not taking her eyes off of her target. Also not bothering to try saying his real name. Not right now at least. It looked like even when he misread the map he'd managed to find his way to the target. Akira seemed to live a charmed life, at least the bit she'd managed to catch a gleam of. She slid her hands into her Jacket pockets, pulling out two Shurikens, one in each hand.(At some point she put her jacket back on) "I've got eyes on target." She breath once more before sending her Shuriken flying towards her target. Quick as a blink the weapons flew across the field, and through the waterfall striking the person behind the falls. The distorted light of the falls wouldn't even give them a clue as to what had hit them. Literally.

With a nod towards Akira Coco dashed from the forest edge and to the falls. She drew two Kunai from her holsters and held them tightly, one in each hand. Trusting that Akira wouldn't be far behind her Coco wouldn't go through the falls until he was with her. She slowed down when she neared the edges of the springs. Her emerald eyes darted over the falls, and its surroundings, taking in all the information they could handle. To her surprise the figure still remained behind the falls. 'Can't be.' Her panic mined thought. 'I know I hit him.' She grasped her kunai and prepared for a counter attack, or Akira's arrival.

For dramatic effect the edges of the camera began to darken and the yellow light of the oceanic sun began to dim, and grey. The whole world seemed to be choking on the dull light of storm clouds. The quite clearly from behind the waterfalls a voice sounded out. Dull like the light that now shrouded the area, and absolutely nondescript. Neither man or woman, adult of child. "You've made it quite far haven't you?"

Coco cast her eyes to the silhouette's feet. She didn't want him breaking from the falls and catching her in a Genjutsu too easily. "I'll say I had to rent a boat to get to you."

The voice sounded off again, growing louder and clearer. It suddenly had a womanly tone to it, though it was still dull, like a ball bearing without a sheen. "You've made quite the home for yourself in Kumo."

"Tcht." Coco spat. Things were getting weirder, by the moment. They where chasing after a man, but this women seemed to be expecting them. An agent perhaps?

For a third time the voice sounded, this time quite with a definitive, young, and feminine voice. Familiar too. "Gaining, boys, money, power..." Coco knew that voice. Coco couldn't resist her eyes strayed upwards and caught the entirety of the water shadow. A short feminine figure, in a bulky out fit. Ah dang! It was her! That was a coco behind those falls. Well this wasn't making any sense what so ever! "All because you left your home behind to rot."

"Not true!" Coco shouted, forming a tiger seal, and performing a Genjutsu Release. Still despite her best efforts, the figure still remained. It was real! "That's not true I didn't leave Ame behind! I'm here to help it."

Shadow Coco didn't sound too impressed with that answer. "You don't believe that. You fled your village, and left it to be destroyed. All you know left behind to rot and suffer so that you may live and prosper. Nothing to be ashamed of Aiko did it too, just another selfish ninja and a world that doesn't care."

Coco could feel quick flashes of rage flowing through her like bolts of lighting. "I came here so I could become strong, and protect my village."

"Then come." The silloutte beconed. "Find that which you seek behind these waters."

Coco was unbelievably shaken by this, but she couldn't stop herself. She walked across the surface of the spring, towards her shadow. The cool mist of the falls floated around Coco, and gritted her feet as she felt her clothing soaking it up. It just had to be behind a waterfall didn't it? With a shaking hand she place her hand upon the falls where her Silhouette stood.

With a mighty and sudden pull Coco flew through the falls, now completely soaked. She gasped as she appeared on the other side. The quickly clamped her mouth shut, as she heard her gasp slightly echo through the cave. She peered into it's depth, and despite the oppressing darkness, she could tell this cave when on for quite sometime. Maybe Akira had read the map correctly after all.

(6660/8000)
We'll say that all took place in Coco's mind and to Akira she simply stopped at the spring for a moment before slowly walking over to the falls, and being pulled through.

^_^ Guess we should bring the Mod in here soon eh?

To Kill A Merchant (Akira) - Page 2 Empty Re: To Kill A Merchant (Akira)

Wed Jan 07, 2015 12:56 pm
Why couldn't this guy just show up already? This whole thing was already taking longer than he would've liked, his compass didn't work and he also managed to stuff up reading a map entirely. Turns out this really wasn't his day. He should've just stuck to fighting instead cause visibly Akira didn't really have the knack for search and destroy. In fact he was probably more of a warrior than an assassin. Whatever he was, it didn't matter because Coco seemed to have spotted the target in the distance. Although, Akira didn't see anything and he took a pretty good look at his surroundings. Was she seeing something he wasn't? Akira was a pretty good tracker as well, his large chakra network made him pretty much a beacon when it came to tracking people. But it seemed as if Coco had found something and was obviously very determined to chase after it, thinking it was the target.

Akira got serious, nodded and followed Coco towards the waterfall itself, she seemed to be very quiet and unresponsive, but he couldn't tell if it was because she was in some weird jutsu or if it was just her trying to sneak up on the target, but when she approached that waterfall. Akira's doubts grew, something was definitely drawing her towards it. And it seemed dangerous. If Coco was imagining this whole thing, Akira was pretty much on the outskirts of it. "Coco, what are you doing?" He asked nervously as she slowly moved forwards toward the cascading body of water. She hated getting wet, and the way she was going about this was hardly discreet at all. But she blanked him, it seemed. And the moment she touched that water she went hurtling straight through it, which immediately sprung Akira into action as he leapt through the waterfall to confront what was inside, sword already drawn and ready for combat. Was she caught in a Genjutsu, he couldn't tell. But at the moment he was inside a cave so dark he couldn't see more than several feet in front of him. "Coco?" He called, the voice echoing around the cavern eerily. This was bad. He needed to quickly find Coco and snap her out of whatever had gotten over her cause she was gonna get herself killed!

He rushed forwards, and due to not seeing much in front of him, ran into Coco with enough force to give her a bit of a lurch forwards, which should be enough to break her out of any Genjutsu she was caught in, provided what she was caught in could even be called a Genjutsu. He didn't know what that was but she looked pretty much brainwashed! That was never a good sign.

He looked ahead, darkness sure but the path ahead looked like it stretched on for ages. If this was where their target was, he'd picked a pretty fearsome place. He was already beginning to hate every second of this. Akira kept his sword drawn and kept himself close to Coco, ready to protect her in case she got attacked.

Coco crouched low to the cavern floor, and held her Kunai ready for action. Deep inside the cavern she could sense the faint flames of Chakra. "He's deeper in." she mouthed, stealthily moving forward. It wasn't long before both Her and Kira came upon the Bijuu temple hidden deep withing the massive underground cavern. The dull light of the caveren greeted them, and freed them for the darkness.

Coco was struck with Awe as she saw the three tall spires of the temple, as well as the bridge lined with headless statues. She'd never seen anything like this before in all her life. And better yet, she could feel the Target's chakra glowing from within the temple. She looked At Akira and raised her Kunai. "How shall we proceed?"

Merchant:

The forest, how Merchant loved this forest, but for the moment he was suppressing his chakra, as he had always kept it hidden as to never be easily found, the temple that was on the island being connected to the bijuu, had collected its own chakra over the years, with bijuu after bijuu doing their final fight with their beast inside the temple, and as he was able to easily pick up on the chakra signitures of two fairly high levels of shinobi, seems someone finally came for him, but when he looked for their location, he was standing behind them both, one seemed to be in the trees and the other on the ground, then as they would begin to head into the Cavern, He would give a slightly evil smirk, this smirk seemed to match with his dark hair very well, and other then his ANBU armor he wore everything black, and no shirt underneath the armor, as the two entered the cavern before him, he would sneak in behind them from the side of the waterfall, as not to give any sound off to the fact they were being followed, he would then silently pull out two kunai, that had the ninja wire tied to them, and with the little loops that fit onto his fingers, the Kunai would travel all of three meters where it would wrap the two of them up, as they were only three meters away, the kunai would then as they flew around the targets, because of how they were thrown, the kunai would get caught on the extra wire of the other and would spin around the wire, with out cutting the wire, and as the wire tied together, Merchant would pull the wire that he held onto, tightening the wire to keep the two of them tied together, then he would use the hand signs in a rapid susscession, and he would use lightning release: Electromagnetic murder, the lightning would travel down the Wires and if the wires had succeded in wrapping up with two ninja, they would get hit with the lightning from the jutsu, the speed of the jutsu was twenty five, but the power of the jutsu was sixty, the kunai when thrown was flying at the speed of one hundred and five, if these two some how miraculasly dodged in some way, countered it, or even survived the attack, merchant would be rather impressed and would continue with his next attack he would have planned
