Capture the Prankster! (d rank mission)

Mission Specs:

“A boy has been putting graffiti on the walls of the buildings in this village, no building has been safe, not even the Kage’s own office. We call it a boy as the ninjas in the village have all been secretly tracked, none of them could be doing the menace, and the reports say the boy had skills about on par with that of an academy student. Now, I’m sure some of you are wondering why we are not suspecting the girls. Well, that is simply because the girls have never been found to be pulling that stuff, not once, not even to get the boys they did not like in trouble. It is simply not their nature in general, to do that kind of thing to anything besides their desks. We have tested this and they are either smarter than our anbu, or truly are not doing it, at least when we are watching. Anyways, we had taken the bet it was a boy, and we found a boy making more graffiti, not removing it, though we did not catch a glimpse of his face.”

The official smashed his fast onto the desk, while taking a deep breath, and continued – “We must not let this nonsense continue, Hysterio! You will be responsible for tracking down and bringing the perpetrator to me, and me alone! I will personally ensure he quivers at the thought of touching paint, ever again!”

Hysterio bowed, and left, hatching plans to catch the misguided artist.

He thought over a jutsu he was trying to learn, while walking to his next destination. The Genjutsu Shibari was a jutsu that paralyzes the target when they view the user’s eyes. Unfortuantely, Hysterio did not think he would be able to learn it quickly.

On the way to the graffiti artist’s predicted next stop, he saw a squirrel. Curious to see if he could exert any control over the squirrel, he knelt around 10 meters away so that the squirrel would not be frightened away by his presence. Gathering his chakra, he waited for the squirrel to look at him, and then he attempted to channel his chakra at the squirrel, attempting to change its chakra flow and paralyze it.

The squirrel paused its movements, and then frantically dashed away into the underbrush, leaving Hysterio unsure whether his attempt at the jutsu had worked, or whether the squirrel had paused out of curiosity or fear. It was very unlikely someone else was trying to do the same jutsu on the same squirrel. The squirrel quite possibly had actually been caught, Hysterio not putting enough chakra into the jutsu to make it work. Hmm, he might get a chance to make it work better, later.

He continued at his mission, arriving at the next predicted area for the graffiti artist. A solo boy appeared, taking out a paintbrush and a small bucket from a hiding place nearby. Sitting in the tree, he quietly snapped a few pictures of the boy painting on the wall, making sure to catch one of the boy’s face. Then he leaped down, and grabbed the boy around the waist. The boy struggled but it was no use, Hysterio ran off with the kid all the way back to the official who had assigned him the mission.

After reporting, and handing over the pictures as evidence, Hysterio went and tried fairly unsuccessfully to clean off the paint from his uniform. He sighed. He would have to buy a new one using all the money from his mission….
