Coco Climbs Empty Coco Climbs

Fri Nov 14, 2014 3:55 pm
Any regulars to Amegakure would find themselves hard pressed to recognize the figure of Coco wei in the cities ever-pouring rain. Shockingly she was without her umbrella! Yea verily there she stood, in the shadow of one of Amegakure's iconic, but abandoned towers. Her green eyes were closed, and the light rain was falling gently upon her scalp. Almost like a massage.

She was weak, that's what she decided. Too weak to defend her city. They were suppose to be the military might of their country, and they didn't even try to stop a single ninja from robbing their city. Instead they all hid.

A strong gust of wind burst through the city. High above her head Coco could hear the sound of shattering glass. The most dangerous rain in Amegakure was the glass that would fall from the abandoned towers. It was a danger that was becoming uncomfortably common around the city. However it did provide a decent chance for some exercise if you were keen enough.

At the sound of the shattering class Coco's eyes nudged open, and she waited. The rain of glass shards was quickly approaching. "Gotcha." Coco whispered snatching a shard from the air. With a flick of her wrist Coco sent that shard flying thought a larger falling shard. She quickly grabbed a second shard and repeated the process. Again and again she snatched shard after shard from the air and used it to shatter the larger falling panes.

"It'll never happen again." She grunted to herself letting her shards fly from her hands. They exploded into similarly sized shards creating a cloud of glassy mist. "I'll become the strongest ever!" Her arms were a blurry of motion. "I'll make this city live again." With a final 'umpf' she let the last shard fly.  She drew a fold of her cloak over her head as a million tiny shards of glass finally cascaded down to earth.

She shrugged the tiny specs of class from her jacket. "Dang." She sighed. There were still some rather large shards scattered around the alley. "I didn't catch them all."  She clenched her fist. "Ouch!" She hissed. Her hands were torn and bloody, almost sliced to ribbon. After all this hadn't been the first round of her training. She'd been going at it all morning. "This is dumb." She moaned. The rain water was quickly washing her blood from her hand.

"Why am I even bothering." Under the curtain of the light rain, she walked over to her umbrella. Tenderly she picked her umbrella up from it's resting spot. She gritted her teeth. "Ow." She sighed. Now she couldn't even hold her own umbrella properly. Carefully she lifted her umbrella back over her head, grateful for it's cover once more. With her cover returned to her she approached the building once more.

It was stupid she knew. Why bother with this place? An abandoned cat infested city, that had the population of an average apartment complex. 'Well.' Coco thought placing her foot upon the buildings wall. 'The quickest way to make my family world renown is by restoring this town eh?' With a final umf she lifted her second foot onto the wall band began to scale it.

The hardest part of this training wasn't so much the chakra control necessary to do it. It was more the fact that she had to hold her umbrella straight out in front of her to keep the rain from smacking her straight in the face. Casually she scaled the tower keep her cool every step of the way. Her chakra control wasn't phenomenal, but it would be enough for this. It's too bad that she couldn't train herself just by doing what she was already good at. She stopped her accent about fifty feet up. To where the glass in the tower still held strong. "Alright." She breathed tenderly placing her foot upon one of the glass windows.

Carefully she began pour chakra into her foot. Not too much, or else the glass would shatter. It was a painfully long process, she had to put the chakra in piece by piece. She was grateful she'd brought her umbrella along. Otherwise she'd be receiving a hearty pounding from the rain.
At last Coco felt her foot take hold upon the glass pain. "Got it." she grunted slinging her second foot to the window and repeating the process. The second foot stuck as well. And Coco let out a long sigh of relief. This'd been only the third or fourth time she'd actually been able to pull it off. "Not bad." She laughed proudly.

With probably a little too much confidence she took a step forward on the glass window. The crystal surface immediately shattered at her tough. The whole surface she was standing on crumbled beneath her and send her falling to the ground. "Too much chakra!" She yelled trying to orient her free-fall.

As quickly as possible she slammed her half shredded hands to the wall. Try as she may she was much too exhausted to summon enough chakra to stop her fall. It only served to twist her decent into a spiraling decent. "Crap!" She and her umbrella spiraled wildly to the ground.
"Not today!" Biting through the pain Coco gripped her umbrella tightly in her hand. She struck her umbrella into the ground. The stone slates of the alley cracked slightly under the blow. With all the force she could muster Coco held onto her umbrella. Every muscle in her upper body moaned in protest. Her shoulder almost ripped out of their sockets. "Geez." Coco moaned. The blood flowed into her head like a vase.

Beneath her the yellow umbrella began to slowly fill up with rain water. Coco maintained her stance for several seconds. Savoring the exquisite pain flowing through her. She could have kept the position for a while longer, but with her legs spread wide for all the world to see rain was beginning to seep into her unprotected inner layers of her outfit.

With a final pant of exhaustion Coco lowered herself down unto the ground. Her entire body throbbed. "Owwy." She groaned laying herself out on the ground. Her jacket kept most of the offending water away from her body. "I think that's enough for today."
