Echoes of the past [Private]

This was the first time in a while Seig had gone into the village.  Last time he had come in a random dog had scared him away.  but her needed provisions and the empty town was the perfect place to find them.  The town had been empty for years but the thing that haunted Seig the most was the fact that things were left where they were... almost as if everyone was just snatched away in an instant.  Village was always silent.  Seig came here sometimes to study because it made him feel close to the family he had been without for the last 4 years.  but he was intelligent and resourceful and was actually keeping the village going for the most part.  He saw it as part of his training as he went about cleaning and putting things away.  He never dusted because he knew there really was no point.  but after doing a couple passes through town he had straightened everything and put everything away.  he had collected all the perishable foods and had eaten like a king untill it was gone.  Then he had started growing crops to feed himself saving the non perishables for when times were bad.  His ninth birthday had been last month and things seemed to be getting easier.  It was like he was running the town. However what he admired most about so much time for himself was the amount of books he could read.  He had read almost all the books in town.  He was a quick reader and the words seemed to calm his spirit.  Walking through town Seig decided it was finally time to explore the one building he had never gone in.  the biggest building in the city was the official’s building.  He remembered when he was young his father would bring him here every once and a while as he had worked here.  But as the building was the home of the wild dogs he had stayed away from it.  He sometimes would hear barking as if the dogs had smelled him and were coming for him.  Those nights the rain would never drown out the sounds enough.  But today he was courageous enough to face his fears.  He was going to enter the last building and if he wasn’t attacked by the dogs he would organize this building to.  His father had always praised him on his organizational skills.  It came naturally to Seig.  It was probably just a side effect of him growing up fast.
