Catching a Thief

Since seeing that bladed boomerang, Ayumi was thinking about going on a mission to earn some ryos. The weapon was great, it wasn't a tall sword she wouldn't be able to carry or look stupid with and it wasn't something harmless like a simple blade either. She wanted it and it was sold only for 500 ryos in the ninja shop. When she saw the reward for this easy misson she was given, catching a petty thief was exactly 500 ryos, she was very excited. Finally she would get that boomerang on her hands.

Ayumi went straight to the food vendors, took her headband off to make sure the thief wouldn't be scared, not that many were scared from a 14 year old girl but still, she took her handband off. After walking around in a careless attitude until late, vendors started to call it a day and pack their stuff up. Ayumi was not yet getting nervous because if she were the thief, she would probably strike during these hours. She proved to be right as a black masked man came out of nowhere and started to threathen one of the vendors. Ayumi was afraid he would do something silly so she had to act quickly.

She started yelling at him like a little girl that had no idea what's happening: "Sir! Can I take a look at your mask? It looks very fancy! Please sir can I maybe have it?", the man looked at her for a second, he was confused with this little girl talking about her mask and took the blade away from the vendor to say something to her for a second: "What the h..". Ayumi quickly took one of her kunai from her pouch using this distraction and hit his blade in his hand, making him drop it. She was afraid she would be inaccurate and hit the vendor with her kunai so she had to use this little trick. She took another kunai from her pouch and aimed at him: "I am here to take you to the police station for questioning, do not do anything stupid or I will not hold back."

The poor man seemed like he was frightened by her, that was what she aimed for with her speech. He didn't say anything or tried to escape on their way to the police station, after she handed him over Ayumi was told she'd have the promised ryo in the mailbox by the time she woke up tomorrow morning. She walked to the ninja shop before it closed to see her beloved boomerang she would have tomorrow. She wasn't even tired by this unchallenging thief so she couldn't sleep that night thinking about what she could do with her new weapon.
