Sachiko's Genin Exam

A tiny 9 year old girl with fiery red hair and bright sky blue eyes confidently strided towards the snow- white academy building, observing her surroundings for what she perceived to be her last time.

Today was the day of none other than the all- important genin exam.

Sachiko was, in reality, quite nervous about the outcome of this exam but shook off the feeling by thinking back to when her previous mentor, Navi- sensei, had assured her academy teachers that she was ready to take the exam.

Several weeks had passed since that particular training session and she was quite excited at the prospect of becoming a genin-- after all, that was one of the first steps to becoming a great shinobi who could protect her village and loved ones, therefor achieving her goal.

A combination of both excitement and nervousness were engaging in a battle over her emotions, causing the young girl to take a deep, calming breath of fresh air.

Sachiko then waited for the exam proctor to walk through the wooden doors of the academy after plopping into her assigned seat, fully expecting to see some old dude.

The young girl wasn't worried about her grades in the slightest; she had seen (and therefor confirmed) the fact that her grades were quite high- something she was VERY thankful for. She didn't need another thing to worry about at the moment.

Haru walked into the academy building and went to the classroom he had been assigned to. It was rather weird for him to be back in the academy after so many years and the fact that he was an ANBU made it a little bit strange, but it was the job he had been told to do. In this situation he was not acting as a ANBU and his status as ANBU was still kept secret, in this case he was considered as Jounin taking on the task of giving the academy students their Genin Exam. His right hand rubbed the back of his head, gliding through his silver spiking hair before he addressed the students in the classroom. "I'm Haru Zye, I'll be your Genin Exam instructor for the day." he said, wondering if the students were even aware that he was a Jounin considering they wouldn't know he was an ANBU. "I guess we'll start off with Sachiko, go ahead and come to the front of the class." he said, picking one of the top students within the class who he felt would have one of the best chances of passing. He was somewhat curious as to why the girl did not have a last name listed, but that wasn't much of an issue.

Sachiko tapped her foot idly, humming to the tune of Konohagakure's national anthem as the young girl waited for the academy proctor. Suddenly, a man with spiky silver hair walked through the academy's doors, calling up her name to start off with. Slightly surprised that her name was called first out of the rest of the class, grinning in both a mixture of excitement and slight nervousness.

The young girl strode toward the front of the class confidently, her sky- blue eyes filled with determination. The young girl absolutely REFUSED to fail, she would do this no matter what! For her village and loved ones!

The young girl turned towards the proctor intently, waiting for his instructions, grinning widely all the while.

An exhale of air went out his lips as he remembered the time when he took his Genin Exam and the memories he had back in the academy he had went to. Brushing aside the various thoughts he got to business dealing with the genin exam. "Alright, the exam is in two parts, both of which are fairly simple but hard if you don't know what you're doing." he said calmly, his attention focusing on Sachiko. He made a simple hand seal, with enough speed to where no one in the classroom would have known what hand seal he had made and within a second there was a clone of himself, using the simple clone technique. "This is an example of what I need you to do first, perform a simple clone technique and then we'll move onto the second part of the exam to see if you're ready to be a genin." With that said, he waited for the girl to perform the technique, figuring that someone who had top grades in the class should be able to do this with some ease.

Sachiko observed the hand signs carefully and inwardly cursed when she was unable to see them due to the high speed at which the proctor had executed them at. However, thankfully, the girl recognized the technique when she saw an exact replica of the proctor appear alongside himself in the academy classroom, causing her to smile slightly in relief.

This wouldn't prove to be too hard; all she had to do was form a replica of herself beside her, something which Navi- sensei had helped her do several weeks ago. However, her eyes widened slightly when she noticed that the proctor's particular clone had a shadow; something illusionary clones did not.

So he must have made a shadow clone, Sachiko deduced before continuing, well, the proctor never specified what type of clone I had to do, so I guess I'll just make an illusionary clone- something I'm familiar with.

The girl inhaled a deep, calming breath of fresh air and shut her sky blue eyes tightly, attempting to focus on the flow of her chakra throughout her chakra network and then gathering it in her hands. It took a little while and was quite difficult- Sachiko suspected this was due to her large amount of chakra and inexperience in controlling it- but she finally gathered a sufficient enough chakra in her hands. Grinning before opening her eyes, the young girl quickly but efficiently executed the necessary handsigns for an illusionary clone, saying, "Illusionary Clone!' in a loud tone of voice.

Seconds later an exact replica of herself appeared beside her, grinning an identical grin that the real one was wearing. "Hi! My name's Sachiko!" the clone introduced happily.

He gave a small laugh at the innocence of the girl and at the cleverness she had. It reminded him of the reason why he had stayed in Konohagakure no Sato, while at the same time reminding of him of family he wasn't with anymore, his brother that he was searching and his nephew he had not seen in ages, clearly he needed to go see members of his family again at some point, maybe even go back to his home village. Clearing thoughts out of his head, he noted the precision of Sachiko's simple clone technique. "Very good. Now comes the second part of the exam, which shouldn't be difficult as its basically as simple as what you just did." he said, making a fast hand seal and in a poof of smoke he had made himself into the perfect image of the current Hokage, Viper Uchiha dressed in the Hokage Robes and Hat. Releasing the jutsu and reverting back to his normal self, he addressed the girl once more. "The transformation technique, simple and effective, I want you to transform into me." he said, remembering what he had to do when he became a genin. "If you're successful you'll pass and become a genin."

Sachiko lit up at the proctor's laughter and smiled brightly. The young girl then nodded as the proctor explained to her that she would be doing the Transformation Jutsu- a fact that caused her mind to break out in a cheer of delight.

Thank you, Navi- sensei! the girl mentally squealed, realizing that the required jutsu was one she knew well.

After observing her teacher thoroughly for a few seconds, the tiny academy student closed her sky- blue eyes and took a calm, deep breath to clear her thoughts, focusing on the flow of her chakra throughout her chakra network.

Several moments passed before the young girl formed the necessary hand- signs to complete the jutsu with practiced ease, snapping her eyes open as she said in a loud voice, "Transformation Technique!"

Seconds later the tiny fiery red hair girl was no more and what instead stood in her place was an exact replica of the proctor- posture, silver hair, eye color, the works.

He flashed a slight smile as Sachiko performed the jutsu was relative ease and without any notice of a flaw in the result of the jutsu. It was clear to him at this point as to why the girl was at the top of the class and obvious that she was ready to take the next step in life and become a genin. He walked over to the nearby desk and grabbed one of the premade Konohagakure no Sato forehead protectors, the light of the sun catching the still shiny new steel on the front of the headband, showing off the Konohagakure no Sato symbol engraved into the steel. Reaching out with his right hand, he handed the headband to Sachiko. "Here ya' go, you're officially a shinobi of Konohagakure no Sato with the rank of Genin. Be proud, I have a feeling you're going to be pretty good someday." he said, informing Sachiko that she had passed. Redirecting his focus to the rest of the class. "That was a good example of what the rest of you will be required to do, so hopefully all of you will be able to pass just like Sachiko did." finishing his statement, he looked back over at Sachiko. "Anyways, you can go ahead and leave if you want, pretty soon you'll be assigned to a team and be able to go on missions."

Sachiko blushed at the proctor's words and grinned a radiant smile filled with happiness as she gently took the steel headband with the village's insignia on it, her sky blue eyes filled with awe.

The young girl reverently took of her dark blue goggles and eagerly put on her new leaf headband, that smile still plastered on her face. She then pumped her arms up in the air and let out a loud cheer of 'YAHOO!'

Suddenly the girl realized that she was still inside the academy and blushed in embarrassment, elicting several laughs from the other students before scuttering out the doors of the academy for the last time as an academy student, entering the new world as a genin.

"Watch out world, Sachiko is now a genin of the Village Hidden in the Leaves!" the girl yellew happily, dashing as fast as lightning back to her house to inform her parents about her accomplihment, grinning that radiant smile of hers all the while.
