Appearance: Ren is a tall and slender individual with a pale complexion and piercing ice-blue eyes. Generally, he wears clothing that is fit for travel, and his long chestnut brown hair is the one thing he always keeps clean. His skin bears the sun's weight, being that it has spent most of its life underneath it with little shelter. But even with the damage from the sun, he still has a gleaming complexion of beauty that radiates from him. Tiny freckles can be seen shining through the skin along the lengths of his arms and a few on the back of his neck. His eyes shine with the hope of a small child but with the reality of the death that this world can bring. But the duality is not something that he dwells within, for as you can see, he carries himself with pride, thinking that he could be the one to bring the two to balance with his words and his music. His dresses are typical robes, but he does all he can to keep them clean and respectable, always presentable and never ragged. If he is ever to get into a scrap with another traveler, he will focus all his attention on returning his presentation to what he desires.

Personality: Ren is a calm and soothing individual. Like the music that he plays, he has a natural grace to him. He doesn’t simply walk, but he bumbles across the sky, like a bee floating from one flower to the next, and so does he float from one village to the next. Anger is the last emotion that he brings himself to. He will sooner forgive those who have wronged him than seek retribution, for he sees it as a waste of time and unnecessary. He doesn’t care much for fighting, as a matter of a fact he has generated his entire fighting style around avoiding combat. He wants nothing more than to sing to the masses and to make friends. He understands that the wild is a dangerous place for people like him. So, he isn’t afraid to go into combat, but he prefers to use his chakra to distract the assailants instead of directly harming them.

Likes: Ren loves all things musical, natural, and harmonious. He spends most of his time traveling through the wilderness between the hidden villages, playing music for those who care to listen, and telling stories to the children around him. He loves playing his music, of all kinds. He has run into several traders selling rather exotic instruments, which he has spent most of his money on. But on the especially gloomy and stormy days, Ren’s true loving nature comes alive. Nothing excited him more than being underneath the cover of a cave, a tree, or any shelter and listening to the rain hitting the ground, the rivers run by, and the winds howl, brushing against his face as he played his instruments to the rhythm of the nature that surrounds him.

Dislikes: Conflict is one thing that Ren will avoid at all costs. He has seen so much pain and death, more than enough for him to see it as barbaric and unnecessary. He despises harming others and wants nothing more than to end all conflict, but he understands that he is but a mote of dust upon the world, and his influence is all but negligible. So, instead, he decides to show others in the world that conflict isn’t required, but harmony is possible. The one thing that will bring out a violent response is the idea of a larger figure harming those beneath them in both power and stature. He will do what he can to bring down the bully, but even then, he will attempt to avoid violence.

History:

Ren Kurosawa was born into a family in Tsukiakari known for their deep love for music and commitment to avoiding conflict. His parents, Akira and Sakura Kurosawa were renowned musicians who played harmonious melodies that could soothe even the most troubled souls.

Tsukiakari was a peaceful village, and Ren's family thrived in its tranquil environment. His parents' music was celebrated, and their performances brought joy and unity to their community. From a young age, Ren was immersed in the world of melodies and rhythms, learning to play various instruments and appreciating the power of music to connect people.

However, fate took an unexpected turn when political tensions rose in Tsukiakari. The village was facing an impending conflict that threatened their dear harmony. Fearing for their family's safety and believing that their musical talents could be used to spread peace beyond the village, Akira and Sakura decided to leave Tsukiakari with Ren.

The journey to Sunagakure was meant to be a new beginning, a chance to share their music with a broader audience and help bridge divides between nations. Tragically, their voyage was marred by tragedy as a rogue ninja ambushed them on their way. Ren, at a tender age, witnessed the loss of his parents during this attack, leaving him orphaned and forever scarred by the traumatic event.

Now carrying the legacy of his parents' love for music and their commitment to peace, Ren continued his journey as a vagabond, traveling the world and playing music for the masses. He inherited their gentle demeanor, using his melodies to heal the hearts of those he encountered and honor his parents' memory and their dream of a world free from conflict.

Ren Kurosawa, the wandering minstrel of the ninja world, became a symbol of hope, spreading the message that even during chaos, the power of music and a gentle heart could bring solace and unity to all.

Roleplay Sample:

Ren Kurosawa, the gentle vagabond with a heart of harmony, took on the challenge of confronting the rogue ninja who had abducted the group of children. He knew that a confrontation might lead to violence, which he wanted to avoid at all costs. Instead, he used his musical talents and a little deception to convince the rogue ninja to release the children.

Approaching the rogue ninja camp discreetly, Ren began playing a hauntingly beautiful tune on his flute, its enchanting melody carrying through the night air. He carefully adjusted his chakra to create subtle illusions, making it seem like multiple high-level shinobi surrounded the camp.

As the rogue ninja heard the music and saw the faint shimmer of figures in the shadows, they grew apprehensive. Ren continued to play, his music resonating with a calming and mysterious energy. He spoke in a soft but commanding voice, projecting an aura of authority.

Before arriving at the camp, he changed his clothes to that of some gear that his father owned during his days as a shinobi. He tied it tight around his waist but left just enough room to give the illusion that he was carrying all matter of ninja tools.

"I am Ren Kurosawa, a messenger of the village Hoshigakure," he declared. "We have been tracking your movements, and we know the gravity of your actions. Release the children immediately, and you may be spared the consequences of your actions."

The rogue ninja, now feeling outnumbered and outmatched, hesitated. Ren maintained the illusion, adding a few shuriken sounds to intimidate them further. He continued playing his flute, the music serving as a backdrop to his negotiation.

"We are not alone," Ren continued, his voice filled with unwavering conviction. "Your actions will have repercussions far beyond this moment. Do the right thing and release the children. You have been warned."

At first, the rogue ninja continued to gather and surround Ren, believing this to be a lie. But with a slight amount of chakra, he produced the sound of a man being dragged away from the back of the gathering group. He yelled as loud as he could, “You will suffer me now, lest you face my wrath and all that surrounds you! I shall offer no other warning nor compromise, free the children… OR DIE!”

With his convincing performance, the rogue ninja had no choice but to release the abducted children, fearing the wrath of the supposed high-ranking shinobi council. As the children were freed and returned to safety, Ren Kurosawa's gentle demeanor and clever use of music prevailed, ensuring peace and harmony without resorting to violence.

He brought the children as far away from the rogue ninja camp as possible before revealing himself who he indeed was. When he believed the coast was clear, he pulled out his instrument and began to play a joyful tune for the children.
