Apperance: Matsuba's skin is a plain, opaque mud-brown color with beady black eyes, nubby spikes on his back, and a tail that stretches to a meter in length. Underneath his body, the color changes to a lighter tone of the aforementioned color.
Personality: There's more than meets the eye in the case of Matsuba, but if nothing else one should know that he's loyal and determined. Of course, he's also faithful, focused, and decisive, but they're tainted by and mixed with habits of being irritable as well. However, his loyalty is what he's pretty much loved for. Oftentimes Himari can count on this and his determination whenever she needs help.
Backstory: Upon traveling to the Rain Country in search of another faithful companion, Himari trekked to the nation's many lakes and swamps and encountered a salamander by the name of Matsuba. Albeit, she had caught the grumpy amphibian at an unfortunately bad time which resulted in a little goose chase. Thereupon, the two later formed a contract together.
